Tesla saved my life. | Helped me escape Hurricane Ian Massive Flooding, North Port FL Exit 182 

I just read where late Friday night they closed I-75 from mile marker 179 to 191 due to the Myakka River levels rising. Seems you got out just in time. I am in Florida as well and my power has been out since Wednesday morning. I have a 16kW system with 4 Powerwalls and my family have been living comfortably thanks to our decision to get Tesla. We are fortunate to not have the flooding issues like some. My heart goes out to all the families affected by this natural disaster. This footage you shared is raw and powerful. So kind of you to help your neighbor. That was a crazy time, but wow you are really prepared. It was overwhelming, this was my seventh hurricane and I swear it will be my last. I will never stay for another one. Especially with floodwaters.

this “documentary” is definitely something else. the things you had to go through may not look like a lot but it definitely is a lot also just mentally. i could never do such thing because i don’t have the patience and the nerve to do that. you really have my respect. also that broken bumper was probably one of the worst parts. ngl i’d be in a mental breakdown if that happened😭

Yeah you can hear the bumper break off right before the last car passes him and water sprays up the windshield. After that the sensors go haywire on the dash. Glad you made it out safe.

Glad you are safe. I am in Brandon with a Tesla solar system, 2 Powerwalls. I just got back from driving down to Port Charlotte to check on my cousin and bring her gas for her generator. I drove all over North Port trying to avoid the flooding. OMG! I've never driven through water like that ever! 2015 Subaru Forester and I do not know how the hell I made it through. I am not going back down there until the flooding goes down. Call me up and come by if you have a chance. You two can stay here for a week. 4 bd 2 bath home with just me and my dog. Pool yoo.

Yes electric will work in extreme wet condition thow it is dangerouse and wont last long doing it . In my eyes that car is rained for life as long as it may be but it got you out .
