I don't have a driver's license currently, and am only 16, but if I ever could get a dream car, it would be a Tesla--especially since I could watch RU-vid on the big screen! LOL

Good overview. Model S first gen not-o-pilot now turns off guage screen completely when games are being played. Not sure if placing it in drive still makes the car shutter from drive back to park.

Nooooooooooooooooooo! Stoplight and red light response, ability to turn tighter corners in autopilot, Navigation on Autopilot on city streets, etc. I think any of those would be an awesome improvement!

Thx for the Vid.......JoeMode is a good idea! Hope one day Tesla will add Seat-Memory-Profiles for Passenger Seat. But it seems I‘m the only one who is missing this Feature ?!? If not......Elon could name it „Dorsch-Mode“ 😉

AP2.0/MCU1 owner here - managed to get my MCU bootlooping by (I think) having a Spotify playlist with an emoji in the playlist title - wondering if anyone else can confirm...

Hey Alex is your in-depth model 3 vs S video still in the works or canceled or am I just missing it? I have been looking to finally take the plunge into Tesla ownership but haven't been able to decide on new model 3 or used model S.

Still planned, but delayed for various reasons. That said, if you need the extra cargo space, no amount of features or capability improvements that the Model 3 offers can change that the Model S is a bigger car. If the extra space isn't essential, the Model 3 has the latest Autopilot hardware, more range, faster charging, better ergonomics, and handles better (making it more fun to drive).

@@AlexVenz I don't really need the space, honestly the biggest factors pushing me towards the S are all aesthetic. Exterior styling mostly, the S is just so beautiful. Thanks for the reply and love the channel!

I was very disappointed to find Spotify hides podcasts in the Tesla interface. Not sure why.

Have had to reboot center console three times so far due to Spotify ultra flake. AP2 S100D with ARM based console. Center binacle visualization has about one second of latency. Only x86 folks get the video and better browser.

Yeah, the Tegra 3 MCU 1 doesn't get most of the new toys... Since v9, even pulling up vehicle controls takes about a full second or so. I wonder when that MCU 2 retrofit program that Elon was talking about will get rolling.

Hi Alex. Excellent as always. A few questions. 1. I have hardware version 2 yet have sentry mode. How is this helpful as I can not utilize the USB port for recording? If my car gets damaged do I call Tesla for the video? Also Hardware 2 does not have Karaoke or RU-vid and movie capability.

What you're seeing is because you have the old Tegra 3 based MCU 1, it's not because of your Autopilot hardware version. Also, from what I've heard from other Hardware 2 owners with MCU 1, sentry mode does kinda work (Trevor from M3OC found it somewhat buggy) but dashcam does not work under MCU 1.

Alex Venz thank you. I have a model x 2017. But even if sentry mode “kinda works” I can’t access because I can’t retrieve data. Also my Tesla dealer affirmed I will be getting free version 3 hardware at some point because of my full self driving package.

With a properly set up USB drive, sentry mode should save clips on said drive (to be viewed upon removal). As for AP Hardware 3, yes, they'll be upgrading everyone who purchased the FSD package but that won't solve the limitations of MCU 1. Elon has talked about offering a paid MCU 2 retrofit on several occasions, but nothing seems to have happened on that front yet.

I hear you and have formatted and placed the usb in the center console port. The camera icon does not show up.

The camera icon only shows up for dashcam, which doesn't work in cars with MCU 1. Sentry mode is separate from dashcam.

How about people with MCU1? I do understand that a CPU from 2011 (NVIDIA Tegra) can't handle HD video streaming , but should not be an MCU upgrade option available to those who want it? I have a 2014 Model S and getting very frustrated from the lack of options here.

Correct, the NVIDIA Tegra 3 powered MCU 1 doesn't get any of the new video streaming functionality, newer games, or a couple other features. Elon has mentioned plans for an MCU 2 retrofit program on multiple occasions, but it doesn't seem like anything has happened on that front yet. The reason I used my Model 3 for this video is because I couldn't demo most of the new stuff on my 2015 Model S.

Let's just say I'm a model S guy and I don't want to start entertaining the idea of changing the entire car, to get RU-vid! ;) Great video as always! Thanks!

Dumitrescu Daniel lots cheeper to just use your phone with a magnet holder to watch youtube or a ipad if you cant afford a new car. I watch youtube while charging all the time.

It's just that I'm really happy with the one I have and MCU 2 is already on the market so why not give the option to update if someone, for any reason will want that? We all use our phones for all sort of things anyway but in this case I prefer the integrated solution. :)
