I think so long as you are consistent, then it is partly due to the style of approach you wish to adopt as a teacher Jordyn. There is no one right way to do it. It could also depend on the relationship between teacher and student, the age of the class and the level of the class. For example, we are less likely to be drilling for correct pronunciation with an advanced learner group, but it may be required with a group of beginners. They may find it easier to understand a visual instruction than a spoken one.

Thanks for your question. The 20 hour grammar course makes use of video - but not all of it is classroom footage - sometimes video is used to illustrate a grammar point visually, for example. Our TESOL training courses contain more classroom footage, though.

A more proper use....I think you mean the correct use of the subjunctive.

Actually, both are correct in American English, although WAS is informal and WERE is formal....

2nd conditional... better use the standard way

Hi. It seems she is wrong. Because this is second conditional, and in conditionals, we never use was. We always use were, instead. The correct sentence would be: If she were rich, she would buy a car. Remember, followed by a comma, if we changed the order, no comms. This is an unlikely situation, she is not rich. Condition and result.

Thanks for your comment. Wish I had used 'were' as have received many comments on the same! Hope the techniques were useful, though, on framing, and introducing a grammar point in a TESOL class.

+Haroon nisar Thanks for your encouragement. We do teach writing in the ESL class, too. This is just a small part of the lesson. However, how much writing depends on the class. So, classes for exam English will have more writing. I have found that many learners have studied the grammar and writing in school and now prefer much more help with speaking. Hope this is helpful.

Hello, my friend ! I would like to give u m'y way of presenting grammar lessons and i would be so thankful if u givee me ur feedback . NB i use thé inductive méthode Well , 1st i interact with m'y kids through questions in a context (communicatively ) ,then i write 3_4 sentences on thé board which thé target language is mentioned then ask them to repeat chorly .NB i write all the sentences with one colour , i.e i dont write the target lge with diferent colour , then i move directely to thé tasks i ask them to do tasks 1st one :task based form and 2nd one : meaning based form. Then , i ask them to state thé rule by themeselves after doing thé tasks by themselves of course then i ask them to write sentences communicative task this is thé last one . this is a ppu méthode what do y think?

+DayDreamer 420 Hello and thanks for posting. Yes, you need a comma after If. E.g. If people had 6 arms, it would be funny. However, if the sentence is the other way around, then you don't need the comma. So: It would be funny if people had 6 arms. Hope that is helpful.

Lol! Confused is the word. Just realised it because it is a dependant and independant clause. I find it difficult making use of comma's when reading...
