I just discovered Tesseract and love watching live performances and reactions on you tube... I might be late to the party but better later than never. I think Altered State is my favourite record.
I was sad when Dan left, I was happy when Ashe came, I was sad when Ashe left and happy when Dan returned. I really like them both and their unique vocals. Welcome back!
All seem to like the breakdown of this song, and while I do agree it's pretty damn brutal, I'd say that what makes it so is the fact it's so well earned. The build up towards this breakdown is what makes it so satisfying, and that's what most breakdowns in Metal get wrong in my opinion.
I relistened to Concealing Fate after 11 years and picking up the bass in between and I love it and appreciate it even more now. Such a masterpiece. One of the greatest EPs of all time in my books.🤘
My dream gig came true in November 12'. Tesseract, Fear Factory and Devin Townsend Project. These guys blew my mind. Alongside my other idols, these guys set the crowd rolling. And the best part? Getting in free thanks to the guest list with dino cazares. What a bday present.
After seeing Rush 8 times in my life and Dream Theatre 3 times, these young guys are intelligent musicians that are a combo of Dream Theatre and Rush with a vocal twist that pulls it all together!
So my demons your time has come You will find me lay here You and I both entwined How refined an encounter You ignite within my mind With one desire When it falls into place Rush of fear takes over Suddenly you succumb to impatience And Surrender So my demons your time has come Well I swear we are in limited landscapes Well I swear the tide swallows me, you’re in denial
Thinking about how many times I've seen this video, despite it being quite old, made me smile. I can turn this up so loud but it's nicer to watch a great band perform. The vocals in One are just so excellent.
Been a fan before when they had Julien on voc's for the demo's. Then Abisola, damn that was hearty for me, still as amazing as it is today. Miss that Lajon feel, but Dan and Ashe did a damn good job. But now I think they have what is good and sound for them. Love this troupe so much. I always look for more and the next thing for them. Love all around. 🤘💜
Why are they all so handsome? I'm a bassist, so I naturally focused my attention on Mos (Metal Hugh Grant) the first time I saw them, but they're all such lovely men.
This music is all about making a great soundscape. It's like painting a picture and compose the colours in a way that makes it a cohesive picture!! Because of that this music reminds me a bit of post-rock!! What I am trying to say is that this music is AWESOME!!
I seen this same tour, I went for Protest and got blown away by Tesseract.. Now I am a fan forsure, was so glad I got to see them live before ever hearing them. They were almost better live then on the album, one of those punch you in the face kindof bands.
Are you kidding me? You don't see emotion in Daniel Tompkins face when he sings? lol He's my favorite singer just because of all the emotion he puts into everything he sings. Try actually listening to tesseract before you say they have no emotion. Or listen to Skyharbor and tell me he has no emotion. Or look up Jon Gamm Aint Nobody and tell me that. I'd love to hear what kind of music you think has emotion if you don't think this does.
OMFG i can't wait for the next 2 !!!! THERE IS GNA BE THIS KINDA THING FOR THE NEXT 2 RIGHT ?! The Impossible and Perfection are my favourites on the album - they're soo beautiful!!
So many people bitching about this band's vocalist on all their videos. I don't know about the rest of you, but I sure as hell wish I could sing like this guy. God damn.
Just bought this last week. It is awesome from start to finish. As much as I liked the previous vocalist, this one filled his shoes quite nicely! These guys almost knock "Zero Hour/Cynthesis/Abnormal Thought Patterns" from the #1 spot of my favorite progressive metal bands.
I love how Jay sings along at some points of this song. It shows to me that he digs the vocals and it seems to me a lot of these progressive metal bands could care less about the vocals, just putting them in there because they feel like vocals are needed to get exposure.
