You didn’t alter any needle from fat to lean ? I was told 4 to 6 tanks are needed and that you do this wis very fat settings so there would come blue smoke out of the exhaust. One says that one tank is about 500 to 700km if it was a real car. Because it’s tiny and revs far higher than a normal car. Normal cars had to be broken in back then, but nowadays no ones does it anymore.... Why are you cooling down after each tank ? Is it for the crystalline structure of the martensites to settle ? I doubt that it’s really needed. But my main concern is: did you brake in that lean, so there was no smoke ?
Sorry for asking but the engine is so loud that I didn't understand what the temperatures are like. Can you please post what the maximum and minimum temperature is when it comes in.Because I sometimes understand 200° that can't be.I know that they have between 90 and 95 degrees in the running-in phase . This video, and part 1 are awesome and so helpful. In part one you made sure you stopped the engine with fuel in it (before it actually ran out of gas) do you do this for part 2 as well? Also, when you are racing, after the motor is fully broken in, do stop it before it runs our and leave fuel in it or do you run it dry? Thanks so much!
I'm getting the new Ty Tessmann edition os speed and I understand the engine is the same or just about the same as the os speed in the video. but I was wondering after doing the same break in step by step what time do you what the motor at the track? also do you tune the bottom end by pinching the fuel tube? I have problems with bottom end tuning and I understand that the temperature is the high speed/top end needle. thanks
+Alexander Vaughn You test the LSN for off the line response from an idle and tune it so you get more acceleration but still lets the motor slowly cool at idle.. but not until you've broken it in properly as he said in the first video never let your engine run lean by pinching the fuel line you making it run lean... A temp gun is the best method less risk for your engine... Corrrect me if I'm wrong Ty Tessmann ;O)
I got about 1/3 of the way through and that was three weeks ago. It's been sitting in the basement since then. Do I need to do anything special to my engine? Will it be damaged? I didn't put any after run oil in it.
semua sempurna I do tune the motor throughout the break-in by ear. Unfortunately, it's impossible to demonstrate that correctly on a video because the sound isn't true to what you actually hear in real life.
Red Long It's one I got at Neo in 2012. It's basically a stainless steel thermos cap with a 50 watt light bulb inside it that runs off of our starter box battery.
+nik cod a rough reference would be spin the flywheel is its running direction until you feel some compression, and then back it off about 1/4-3/8 of a full turn and it should be bdc
