i am a retired transmission rebuilder. this one has my favorite OD trans in it. a 200R4 i have a nice 86 monte carlo SS with the same. people that don't understand them talk bad about them; they are very good units. i like them better than a 700,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Nick.....The car has a 2004r overdrive trans. The passing gear is controlled by the computer.

What's wrong with the rear shocks ? It keep bouncing as you drove it ! Maybe no air in rear shocks,or broke air line,or bad rear shocks ?

The squeak sounds like bad wheel bearings very noticeable on under carriage view ! The engine didn't sound squeaky in when eng.was running . I love this Elcamino ,87 is the best and last model ever made ! Bubles are rust outs .

Beautiful Elky. Didn't like the downsized bodies much--the cab, taillights in the bumper--UGLY ; hell, I despised the wallowing fat pig looking '73 -'77 body styles. Would be nice to ditch that puny 305, but I wonder if a 350 would fit? A 327??? And it looks almost impossible to run true duals due to zero space--I have seen a big 3" pipe used up to the rear, where "falsie" duals took over. And if I could, I'd ditch that column shift, and would have to find a console--still love that look. Again, a beautiful car for its' age.
