What a fantastic car! A lot of people like to try and diminish how impressive these performance EVs actually are. It was only 10 years ago this kind of performance was considered Hyper-Car 2million dollar levels. Amazing handling, fantastic speed, quiet ride, lots of comfort, and plenty of practical usage space. Not to mention extremely fast charging bringing it down to almost car fill up levels.

Ja, ja ... tralala ... lern lieber mal sicher Auto zu fahren und nicht in Innenstädten ewig lang in die Kamera zu glotzen statt auf die Straße. Es ist zum Kotzen, dass Typen wie Sie noch einen Führerschein besitzen dürfen, obwohl sie halb blind durch unsere Städte fahren. 🤢 Sie können nur von Glück reden, dass Sie noch keinen Menschen überfahren haben. Aber ich rede hier ja in einen Durchzugskanal zwischen Ihren Ohren. Typisch Türke halt.

Here in Japan, there has not been a single fire incident involving a Japanese-made EV. The batteries (Toyota-Panasonic, GS-Yuasa, Toshiba) used in Toyota, Nissan, and Mitsubishi EVs are all made in Japan. Japan's newest submarine (Taigei class) also Adopt and equipped lithium batteries (GS-Yuasa). An EV spontaneously combusted and caught fire at an Audi dealer's garage, destroying eight vehicles. Since it was an Audi, I assume the batteries were made in Korea.

If you drive a lot of cars in a short time it is understandable that some of them feel different in the way how they handle, brake or the difference of the usability. I get it that some testers are sometimes confused about it if one manufactorer do it differently. Luckily for the owners you get used to it.

The A5 in general is a pretty terrible Autobahn and especially near Frankfurt. Going fast on it is very difficult.

My 2021 fat etron does a weird brake thing maybe like what you experienced. Sometimes I brake and feel the blending almost bounce between regen and friction, like the car can’t decide which to use.

Actually the braking system is mechanically decoupled from the brake pedal. Almost like brake by wire. So it is impossible to feel the difference between regen and friction brakes in the pedal. Its the reason Audi put it in there to make the transition to friction super smooth.

Audi is still in their black and white TV ages that most of us were freed from, some 55 years ago. Only a very few splashes of colours here and there, in an +100k € EVs menus in 2024... Either this GUI was made by totally colour blind people, or for them same kind(!) If someone think this is for aesthetic reasons, well were's the appeal? It just looks really dated, not modern -nor classic. It also makes it far less intuitive to use, forcing you to focus on the icons, instead of just quickly glanzing at the coloured icons for a few milliseconds (when you're familiarised with the menus). The car looks amazing though, so it's a shame the terrible GUI/software makes it a no-go for many people.

I’m done with spending a lot of money on a premium EV. They depreciate like a falling stone and the best before date on an EV is too short for me to want to buy an expensive electric car. Also, all EVs are fast. It’s just not worth paying extra for similar performance.

Exactly my opinion. Here in Prague you can see long lines of used Taycans at Porsche with barely 10k but 50% lower price. Not to mention that many have a lot of tech issues with them.

⁠@@tesla-spectreI got one of the first Taycans sold in Norway march 2020 and after loosing 7% SOH over 52000k/1,5yrs and experiencing kaputt rear motor atop a mountain in a blizzard New Year’s Day 2022 1400km from home, never again. I’m currently evaluating getting a TM3 RWD or a TMY RWD. The cheapest there is, but with + 500km of range. Not worth spending a cent more than you need on an iPad on wheels.

@@dallasdrew2390 I'm aware already but John Cadogan has spent a lot of time on this and it boils down to two things. Firstly, low probability high consequence events are not to be ignored. More of a concern for a building owner than a hotel guest, certainly, but unnerving for the latter nonetheless. Secondly, the stats on car fires doesn't take into account the average age of ICE cars versus electric cars. We'll only know the relative risks in a couple of decades. For context, don't take me for anti-EV, I have an IONIQ 5 and love it, but I wouldn't want to sleep with it on my balcony.

@@celeron55 On the first point, I agree. Both potentially fatal. However, there's a difference. The fumes from a battery in thermal runaway are a different level of toxic and the ferocity of a battery fire is many levels different. There's footage of some poor soul taking his electric bike battery up to his apartment and it goes into runaway the moment the elevator doors close. Within seconds it blows the lift apart. And that's a bicycle battery.
