I have been listening to these guys for 30 years and I never get tired of hearing them play. Truly one of the best metal bands ever. They don't get the credit they deserve in my opinion.
Apocalyptic City, Burnt Offerings, Fall of Sipledome, The New Order, The Formation of Damnation, Stronghold.. and that's just some of better thrash songs from Testament. Dead Embryonic Cells, Desperate Cry, Slaves of Pain, T.D.S. (Take it as you will), Bodies on Bodies, Kill on Command, Blackened, Damage Inc, Disposable Heroes, Ghosts of War, Crypts of Eternity, Silent Scream, Captor of Sin, Some Pain Will Last, When The Sun Burns Red, Coma of Souls, Awakening of the Gods, Riot of Violence, Phantom Antichrist, Totalitarian Terror, Army of Storms, March Into Fire, Follow Me, Through Eyes of Glass, Twisted Into Form, Infinite, Fabulous Disaster, Strike of the Beast - I could go on... DNR doesn't even have any climax to begin with, it doesn't build up to anything special, despite having awesome riffs and a good, up-beat tempo.
@@Metalton95 - Look...no one here wants to debate something that everyone has their own opinion on!!! I agree that DNR is a great pounding thrash metal song!!!! Best ever??? For some people Yes! For others...No! Let's just agree that Testament kicks ass, period!!
I think his most important skill is the ability to play just about anything in metal, and unlike people who cover other people's songs (cough cough lombardo), he doesn't leave out any of the iconic fills. Also one of the strongest, most consistent feet in metal. May not be the fastest drummer who ever lived, but he's probably the most consistent live.
That whole entire album is probably their most technical album, as well as untouchable, just listen to Legions Of The Dead, D.N.R and Fall Of Sipledome, 3 of the greatest Testament tracks post Ritual.
How awesome! I went with my buddy to testament 27 years ago. And now they're playing in St Petersburg Florida and him and I are going 27 years later. How cool
One of Erik's best riffs he has ever written. Look at that talent? Chuck, EP, Gregor on bass (I know Steve Digiogio, a master himself, would soon came back on bass), and the incomparable lead guitar of Alek Skolnick and on drums one of the greatest drummers in metal history. Talent in excess here.

Testament and Overkill are both better bands than Anthrax. I think most real metal heads know this. I respect Scott Ian but Alex Skolnik is a legitimate thrash titan.

Been listening to testament since i was kid... one of my all time favorite bands chuck Billy has the greatest metal vox still to this day... definitely one of go to bands to listen to every day
I seen them in the early 90’s at The Back Room in Austin, Tx. I lost a game of pool to Chuck and told him “if you can do that again I’ll turn you onto some acid.” He smoked me on the pool table again. So that night me, a roadie & Chuck tripped balls. He would run over to the side of the stage where we were, point at us and say “I’m fucked!” Yet he was business as usual while singing! My 21st birthday that night!
this band is by far one of the best to see live. they sound better than the CD. Crisp, clean, and always on time. truly one of the best shows I ever seen.
The only word I can find here is "wow". Been listening to them since I'm 14, but only today have come to this live performance, which is absolutely unbelievable and different from the studio records. That's massive.
DNR is one of greatest mosh songs ,I've been into testament since 87,their cool dudes from nor.cal. I seen them live at cheers in Sunnyvale, ca.and it was fucking brutal my friend Tim Calvert from forbidden is good friends with them nor.cal. rules!!
People have been arguing about which thrash metal band is the best. And it's always the "big 4". Nothing against them, I love them too. However, Testament is THE BEST thrash metal band ever. Either them or Kreator
