I’ll admit I was so close to buying audio quest cables but man I remember back in 08/09 when spent $$$ on all monster cables.... Zeskit working fine thus far!!
@@Alex.UA6 I actually went with audio quest forest. Verified “ultra” cable by HDMI LLC, verified 2.1, and I actually have 3. Does it all perfectly. That is 7.2 system with 4K output w/EARC. Highly highly recommend. It’s even directional so less distortion. Good price and just actually does what is says. And that’s all of it. Best of luck!
Technology keeps requiring more speed and larger data transfer. Thank you for taking a scientific approach to testing. 50 seems like a good sample size. You really a providing a great service to your subscribers. Pixelgen makes some really long fiber optic HDMI cables that will pass 4K and even 8K at really long lengths from 30 to 150 feet. They are very pricey.
4k tv oh let's use a 8k 10hdmi lol 8k is pointless at distance 4k oled 42inch when LG releases it 4k on that TV is already retina at distance 8k is pointless only for bigger tvs won't notice much difference if they make a 8k smaller tvs then no problem but will will get to the point the extra pixels won't be noticed
@@TechnoDad what does the price of the display have to do with the price of the cable? Why should you spend $250 for a cable when a $35 cable will work just the same.
I’ve just bought two 2 meter 48 cinnamon cables for my series x and ps5 and one 3 meter carbon 48 from my Yamaha to the tv for eArc the cables work really well for me
Prices of these cables have always been ridiculous but even more now. I purchased the cinnamon from Best Buy years back for $100 and it was 8 feet. Now the cinnamon is $180 for 7.5ft lol wow
Just buy any certified 48 Gigabit HDMI cable off Amazon! You will have just as good an experience and can spend the savings on a better TV or game console.
@@TechnoDad I watched a video you did years ago and went Securomax. I am changing over to Zeskit cables after watching this video and reading reviews. Heard good things about there 2.0 and 2.1 cables
Instead of mounting/ passing through walls, a good alternative would be calble rails. SImply match the colour of the cable rail to your wall colour, stick it to the wall and fit the calbe inside the rail. THat's it.
@@kinglarryone can't be that much better or there would be certain HDMI qualifications to prove how much better they really are, now I'm not saying a $10 cable is the same quality but where does it end?
I tried out the Zeskit cable for some 8k 60fps gaming with my TV. Unfortunately, going the cheap route didn't work for me this time; I am getting plenty of artifacts and "noise". I'll try out an AudioQuest cable next. Thanks for the video!
Did you separate the failed cables and the passed cables into two groups? I’d retest each failed cable and see if you got the same results on the second test. I’m a retired quality engineer, I’d also ask Denon and Marantz to provide Gage Repeatability and Reproducability data on their units. Without knowing the reliability of their testing, you don’t know if the failure is the cable or the actual testing feature on the AV unit.
That percentage difference in performance doesn't seem to correlate the percentage difference in price. I'm sure a fully 2.1 Ultra Certified cable would've done just as well or better.
So is it worth upgrading the cable that came with the Xbox Series X? I have the LG CX with the Series X and I get “invalid format” all of the time! Would a better “certified” cable help these issues and performance? Also is it worth using a 2.1 cable from the receiver to the tv? I use the Dolby atmos in the Xbox settings and like the sound but I saw something last night saying a 2.1 cable can help sound - my Denon receiver is about 5yrs old.
I'll need a 10ft cdmi cable from my LG to PS5 I am currently using Audio Quest 10Ft Forest on the PS5 to the TV. and The Belkin 2.1 from Apple TV to TV. I looked at Carbon Audio quest and considered that for PS5 Do you have knowledge on it if that would be a better option for either one? Mostly going for graphics quality. I do have a sound bar also might do Carbon on that as well. But I know if it works or it doesn’t basically don’t want to fall victim of costly cables just for the hype
Good review, question do you think if i purchased much higher AQ like cinnamon or carbon will work perfectly or all AQ are the same, i mean no fail im planning to buy Cinnamon 48. thanks more power.
I have an older Foster-audio quest hdmi cable. With green lines on the side dc sides of the ports. But says 1080-4k even 3D as well for being an older cable but was still a great cable However I just replaced it this year with a UHD 4K HDMI cable to point now from brexlink And I absolutely noticed a difference in picture even speed
Would the drops of the audio quest fiber optic,be caused by lack of power? I noticed Ruipro fiber optic will give you the option of using power adapter if drops happen.
I want to hook my Desktop PC to my LG C9. I tried it with my new 32ft HDMI 2.1 cable from Club3D. This does not working with my Desktop. However it does work on the Playstation 5 and the Xbox Series X. What are the chances that this will work with a AVR and then into my LG C9?
Hello Ive had a hdmi go bad on my LG C9 55 into my 2080 ti nv link set up.. would you recommend this? They talked about a club 3d or fiber optic cables.. which one should I go with? Thanks! ive sub'd.
Hi Tommy! The only real options are from Panasonic, like the UB420 for people with projectors, the UB820 if you need Dolby Vision, or the UB9000 if you want the top of the line player. The Pioneer LX-500 is on par with the UB9000 but does play other discs like SACD if you need that functionality. The Panasonic players will not.
Anyone test the Audioquest Photon 48? It says for Xbox but I need to use for PS5. Either that one or Ocean 48 from bestbuy (same price for 5ft). It looks same build quality with copper conductors but the photon is braided.
@@TechnoDad yeah it's wild. Didn't believe it till I purchased the 50ft. I bought the gaming one as it has ethernet cable built into it as well. Little cheaper per foot but it's worth it. They designed it to be able to be ran through your wall with a kevlar pull string if you wanted to go from room to room.
Do you recommend a Audioquest Vodka or Thunderbird eARC hdmi cable connected from my Sony OLED tv my Anthem MRX 520 receivers? I am currently using a Carbon.
Will these Hdmi cables differ for the eARC as well? As i am using the hdmi cable came with my vizio sound bar and this sound bar is eqiiped with 5.1.4 system. Please let me know….. my main interest is to play my folby atmos content on my sound bar.
Any HDMI 2.1 48 gigabit cable will take anything you throw at it, including EARC. Any HDMI 2.0 cable will connect your TV and soundbar just fine, it just won’t support the PS5 or new Xbox at full performance. These premium Audioquest cables do not perform better than $20 cables, do not buy them.
If the cable that came with your PS5 reaches your TV, you do not need to replace your cable. You will see zero performance improvement from replacing your cable as long as your current cable works without dropouts or obvious image issues (like the screen glitching out)
I'm looking for a 10ft (approx) for my wallmounted Sony 65X900h for my Sonos beam, nintendo switch and PS4 (soon to be PS5 when they come to a more reasonable price), I was wondering if you had tested any of the "Cable Matters" HDMI 2.1 cable from amazon? They look legit from the website and although not certified, seem to be good. Any advice?
@@TechnoDad www.amazon.ca/Cable-Matters-3-Pack-48Gbps-Support/dp/B084RFQPSP?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1 from the amazon cable matters store. seems like a great deal if they can pass what they are claiming.
@@TechnoDad Is it? At that price. I have a broadcasting hdmi cable used by the industry for my projector. That's a 50 ft run and that cable was around the 75 mark. This is over priced. New tech though so it will be.
I meant it depends on how much you want to spend. I personally would not. If I was to run an HDMI longer that 15 feet, I would go with an optical cable, which is around $150.
Did you test a short cable? I mean if we get 50 pass of 50. Then we know that your test setup is "stable". And if it fails when you have short cable then it is the test bed and not the cable. And we should expect also of that reason failures on whatever cable or length you test IF your test bed is unstable.
I thought the PS5 does 4K 120. I've seen videos with people testing it out and it appeared to be working just fine. I'm assuming you tested it and it didn't work. Not sure about the cable though.
The PS5 does output 4K120Hz, however, the console does not render the games in native 4K120Hz. It's achieved using "dynamic resolution" otherwise know as upscaling. The cable is certainly JUST a "High Speed HDMI Cable" as seen in my test video of OEM next gen console cables. Is there a way to test your hdmi cable on a Denon? My 4k AppleTv keeps going black (for a second) then returns to normal when watching movies. I am running a 50ft fiber optic with the following specs: 4k 60htz, 2.0b, hdr10, arc, hdcp2.2, 3D, 18gbps, 4:4:4, 4:2:2, 4:2:0....hopefully you know what all that stuff means. Lol
LOL! Yes, I know what all that means. So you have an HDMI 2.0b cable which you can test on a Denon AVR as well. Both Marantz and Denon are owned by the same company, so it's pretty much the same. Try the steps on your Denon and see if you will enter the HDMI Diagnostic area. All that being said, sometimes my screen goes black when I switch inputs. It could just be a normal thing....
@@TechnoDad Sounds good, I will test it, thank you, Yes, it seems similar to what happens to the screen when you would switch inputs...however, mine will happen (when it is at its worst) 10 times or so during a movie. Are the stats I listed above for the cable, healthy enough for 4k AppleTv streaming Dolby vision? It seems like I remember the problem seemed to go away when I switched a setting in AppleTv from 4:4:4 to 4:2:2...but it happens so sporadically, it is hard to nail down. (Tv is 2018 LG b series) Thanks again Channa. You have been responsible for the TV I purchased, the denon receiver, 13 Klipsch speakers, and the 2 SVS PB 4000s. Keep up the good work!!
I also just watched a video with Vincent Teoh performing the same test you did with the PS5 cable and it passed the 40gb test. So I'm not sure why you would put out false information about the PS5 cable not being 2.1. I mean it passed the 2.1 test so I'm assuming that it is. Maybe you did your own test and had different results I guess. I just find it odd that you made those statements.
False information?? Have you seen the cable that comes with the PS5? It literally says on the cable "High-Speed HDMI Cable." An HDMI 2.1 or 8K HDMI cable is called an "Ultra High-Speed HDMI Cable." I tested the PS5 cable along with the OEM cables from the Series S and the Series X. The Series X cable says Ultra High-Speed HDMI Cable and the Series S cable says High-Speed HDMI on it. I have it all in my video - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-x0kcsFXGPUg.html - go to the 4:04 mark and you'll see the cable that came with the PS5. Again, it is not an HDMI 2.1 cable. Why did Sony do this? I don't know. They should have included an Ultra High-Speed Cable but they did not. Clearly whatever they included with the PS5 doesn't have good quality control if myself and Mike from MyGadgetsWorld kept getting a 30% fail rate and Vincent didn't get any fails.
@@TechnoDad Yea I guess you're right, that's crazy man. You obviously did a lot more testing than he did because your results speak for themselves. Glad you put in the extra time to get a more representative view of what that cable is all about. That wasn't false information at all, you know what you're talking about bro. My apologies for doubting you!!!
So for my new rtx 3070 GPU using hdmi 2.1 to my lg cx is it worth upgrading from the ps5 hdmi cable included with the system or just leave it man. I use the cx to Arc the audio to my anthem avm 60.
@@marcyoung6022 I use a 2.0 cinnamon for arc and another for video but my avm 60 doesn’t support 2.1 the new one does not upgrading just for it i use the tv instead for picking my HDMI port
It passed 7 out of 10 times, but it's not an 8K cable. It literally says High-Speed HDMI on it, which is a 4K cable. It should say Ultra High-Speed HDMI Cable on it, like the Series X cable.
@@TechnoDad: Vincent Teoh's PS5 HDMI cable passed 8K 40Gbps on 100% of his tests conducted on a Denon X2700H. Perhaps there are QC issues with the HDMI cable supplied with PS5?
Imagine thinking digital information can change depending on the cable. You should feel deep shame for promoting cables designed to con people out of their hard earned money.
Complete nonsense.. HDMI either works or it doesn't. Buy a properly built HDMI cable (at a cheap price) and understand that you have as good as it gets. No expensive cabe will do better. But, snake oil sells...
Best buy cinnamon audioquest for $800... You are sipping the kool aid hard man. You aren't even supposed to use a cable over 10feet according to the specs.
There is no such thing as HDMI 2.1 cable. HDMI cable are certified as standard (Cat1) 4.95 Gb/s, High (Cat2) 10.2 Gb/s, Premium (Cat3) 18 Gb/s and Ultra (Cat4) 48 Gb/s. Audioquest Forest 48 is Ultra 48 Gb/s certified.
@@TechnoDad that doesn't prove anything. I applaud your effort but you see, I'm an audio visual director so hdmi, vga, ethernet cables are my business & we use commercial grade stuff that better than audio quest. 900 dollars is fir rich people to think that it is only way but it's not. I could list a hundred cables better. And you should be using a computer monitor for your games and you'll see wb even larger improvement.
The only HDMI cable that can improve picture quality is Mcable that has processing built into the cable. Ye audio quest makes some nice quality cables with good materials but it won't improve the picture
@@DamnDealDone mclassic is different. It has a computer chip inside that does postprocessing anti aliasing. Really good for game consoles such as Nintendo switch
