I own a MDX Type S. Its a phenominal car. The attention to detail and effort to make it a true Type S is soo impressive. In Comfort it is the most cofortable car I have owned and in Sport+ it its a canyon carving rocket. I would prefer a mild hybrid MDX Type S over this just to boost milage and fill the turbo lag gap. That would be perfect and get you 5K towing and better dynamics than a blazer based chassis.
Thanks for focusing on the Acura ZDX’s ride quality along with sound levels in the cockpit,Kirk. Long-time Honda/Acura owners know the road noise/wind noise can be a problem and it sounds (HA!) like they are addressing these issues. Good to have your honest opinion on it!
WRONG... everything you see on the outside and inside of the ZDX is different from the Chevy. You cannot buy the Trailblazer model with the better motors, adaptive suspension, 22" Wheels and tires, and the six piston Brenmo brakes. The Acura also beats the Caddy on PERFORMANCE. BTW... the BLUE color is one of a kind.
@@mrgurulittle7000 I am one of the first who posted this on YT. It was my initial impression of the ZDX. I admit in this garish, tacky golden color, it looks less like a hearse than in white but it still looks like a hearse.
I'm in my 40s and have liowered basically all my cars in my earlier years. I can tell the whole I was ok with it my girlfriends at the time and wife now hated them.. listing a car makes it ride very stiff to the point where my wife thought it was broken. I want the regular wagons back. Crossovers still look too tall to me
@@JamaicanMeCrazy Crossovers are lifted hatchbacks/wagons Lowering them makes them feel better, easier to handle, and overall makes them safer as they aren't as tall
With the newly refined ‘25 MDX and this ZDX, Acura dealers have to be thrilled. Really handsome & well designed vehicles. Don’t really get all the GM bashing. You ask automotive industry people what are the Top 4 car companies for engineering - GM and Honda are on everyone’s list. This ZDX is a very compelling product … especially in a sea of poorly manufactured Teslas shaped like jellybeans.
@@GaryKetchum808 The Lyriq is the best looking cadillac in a long time too so gm puts out some decent evs imo the Hummer EV also looks sick but ik its not very efficient and ridiculously expensive
I figured with everyone pumping the brakes on full electrics, Acura would backtrack into hybrids. They know buyers are willing to pay the premium on performance mild hybrids, they could easily take the lessons they learned from the NSX and apply them to Acura models. I heard rumblings that Mr. Ikeda was moving on from the brand, so could Acura finally be pushed into the luxury category instead? I thought they were going to ditch FWD models, but it wasn't mentioned with 25MY MDX announcement. Also with the Civic being leaving the 1.5T in the rearview (CRV probably not far behind), where does that leave the Integra? The ADX is still a complete mystery, along with the facelift or redesign of the RDX (which im praying for the redesign), Acura SUVs are going to be the bread and butter for the brand. As for the ZDX, it's nice enough but I'm not expecting it to be a sales giant, luckily they are sharing cost with GM. Honestly, I think Acura would have been better served creating a larger 3-row SUV and creating a hybrid version of the 3.0T. With the crazy emissions standards being relaxed world wide, we maybe looking at a rethink for the brand versus the jump to all electric.
I believe like the last ZDX this one will flame out. First of all the chrome trim along the roofline makes it look like a hearse. What the heck was Acura thinking. For my money I’d take the ICE MDX Type S all day over this oddball offering from the “Precision Crafted” brand….and I don’t mean Cadillac.
This is more of a fit between the RDX and MDX. I hope down the line Acura makes their own. If lease deals get ridiculous I might replace my Camry with this. I will probably get the ICE MDX while it lasts. It’s going to be interesting to see if there’s a run on ICE MDX’s in 2027 when that product reaches the end of the line before EV conversion.
The infotainment screen looks like the same size unit you find on a Civic. Couldnt they at least put the 12.3" unit from the Accord and tried to integrate it into the dash. Their isnt a cohesive design to the dash for a $70k auto.
What's the use of having a copy while you can get the original : Cadillac Lyriq. Will Acura support this car for many year considering they will have their own EV line in 2 ou 3 years ? If you like this ZDX anyway, don't buy it. Leasing would be a better idea.
Basically. The blazer is basically a car, and "car" is basically a shortened word for "carriage", and the carriage is basically anything that can carry a person. So basically the zdx is a wheelbarrow. Basically.
I wouldn’t take it over my IONIQ 5 simply because of the cost. It’s more expensive and mine is even overpriced. I’m not sure when reality of residual value will register with manufacturers and they realize that we literally don’t have money to burn. 34:23
It's a good looking lifted station wagon. Not as nice as the crown but tastes may differ. A bit if a let down is that it's not a honda/Acura development. I hope early buyers are not beta testers for an unfinished product.
I don't agree with Acura using GM to design and build a car for them....seems like a very careless and casual interior and probably substanderad quality......not good for Acura reputation and then asking $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ ???
@@pd-ou1tgexcept the supra is meant to be a low volume sports car not a mass produced crossover plus the b58 inline 6 in the supra is a proven engine with excellent reliability.yes i actually said it a bmw engine that is reliable
@@electrikoptik This is correct. Honda doesn't have an EV production plant in the US nor a platform for this vehicle yet. It aims to produce its own starting 2026 from what I've heard. Honda has produced smaller EVs in the past for Japan and Europe though, but never for the US.
They had their main clients leave after the flop of the zf trans issues in the tlx 2014-17 along with all the other mdx hiccups of doom. Heard so many customers leave it wasn’t funny. I’d say they won’t ever come back after those devastating engineering marvels and are still being pleagued with rod bearings lately
$70k for a GM built blazer? Thought the tax credit stops for autos above $50k, how does a $70k Type S qualify? This isnt going to keep buyers who want an EV from going to Tesla. You can get a Model 3 performance that moves quicker for close to $50k.
Yeah, but teslas are super sh*tty. My bros model s burned down his whole garage(including a bmw and benz) and part of his kitchen. Teslas are fast, but sh*t.
so this is just the Honda prologue made by GM with Acura badging? Whatever happened to just a car made in one country by one manufacture? this car is a mutt.
I like it, true it's a blazer EV but I like the looks of this one better. That price is interesting though, for the price I think I would get a Volvo PHEV instead.
Hate it. Prologue has a more luxurious cabin with simple and honest style. That window trim and silver paint along the side skirts are vile. The old ZDX was a flop, but unique and rare. This is nothing but a cash grab attempt from 4 different brands, and 3 countries
This vehicle is NOT appealing to me. They stretched it out to add more batteries I am guessing? Side view is squat and odd looking. Interior is not so bad. That is my review! lol
