I finally understand a wiring diagram! I understand from the master switch down, but could you explain the circuit starting at the fuse block? Where does the power come into the fuse block?

so I have 2 harnesses on my window switch. the small one controls the front windows and the bigger one controls the back windows. I have a 08 grand caravan by the way. but no power coming from the harness at all.if the relay is bad wouldn't nothing work at all??

Hi Justin, thanks a lot for the video. My passenger window doesn't go down. I've done the test on the wires on driver side Power and ground: 12v Up n down on driver switch: 12v Up on passenger: 12v Down on passenger: 0.3v On passenger side Power n ground ok Everything else: 0 Does it mean that both switches are dead or it could be a bad wiring? Thanks mate

Hello. Really appreciate if u can help me out. My car have two power windows. Driver(mainswitch) and pasanger. When i separately move up and down the windows, both working fine and fast. But, if move both spontaneously, the pasanger window will move slow. May i know what is the problem, and how can i fix that. Mitsubishi Lancer Coupe '95

I need some help bro . I want to wire up some switches to my windows on my racecar. The windows, motors and regulators are installed . I have the wiring diagram but my electrical skills are novice at best . I have the window motor harness spliced and ready, and a couple 20amp fuse wires. However, There are about 8 wires coming from the window motor harness, so my question and where I need assistance at. Is what wires am I going to use for my switches? What wires do I bridge together to make the circuit possible ? etc .Below I have listed out the color and specificities of the wires coming out of the driver side window motor based on the diagram for my vehicle . Please assist me. Driver window motor Wire 1: Auto/ VT-LG Wire 2: DACC/RD-LB Wire 3: UP/ WH-BK Wire 4: Down/ YE Wire 5: Short Drop/ LG-BK Wire 6: GOC/ LB Wire 7: B+/VT-YE Wire 8: GND/BK

What if both wires receive power at the same time for both switch throws

What could cause the wires to heat up if another earth wire is added..my windows does not work and when I add the earth it works but in opposite directions to the switch

What would the open circuit volts be if testing switch up and down and motor was unplugged?
@JustinMillerAutomotive
@JustinMillerAutomotive 3 года назад
It would be the same. However, if there was any type of resistance in the circuit, you would not detect it unless the circuit is completely connected and energized while testing. Measuring open circuit voltage is not a good test of the circuit's health.

I've got a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 where coming into the window control module I have 12vdc on the constant side, but nothing on the ACC power input to the main (drivers seat) window control board. Checked the fuses, all OK, so I'm "Guessing" it's a break in the wiring harness between the ignition switch and window control. My question is, can I put a jumper from the 12vdc constant to the ACC input wire? The control at that pin is marked "VDD" (which from looking up might refer to a 5vdc input). Does part of the power control run on a Reduced Voltage? or can it all be run on 12vdc? Thanks

You should be able to jumper the 12vdc wire to the ACC wire, as they should both be 12v when the ignition switch is closed. I am not sure what the VDD wire is. Without looking at the diagram for that circuit, I can't offer a lot of assistance. If there is an ECU involved, the input side of the circuit could operate on a lower voltage, but the output side would operate at 12 volts.

Is there a way to locate a wiring schematic for a window motor not knowing what vehicle it came out of? Can it be safely tested without frying it? Thanks

All window motor systems work on a similar principle, but the circuit varies a little bit, depending on which car it came out of and what features are included.

how to test a GM 7 pin window motor? it has power and ground all the time. 5 other logic level inputs, the electronics and relays are built in the motor housing..

I don't know exactly which circuit you are speaking of, but you can generally say that if the electrical component isn't working (i.e. the motor) then either the motor has failed or one of the wires connected to it has the wrong voltage. If the motor has a built-in logic circuit, the use the same strategy. Check the voltage at each wire connected to it. If the voltage is correct (while trying to operate the motor), but the motor still doesn't work, then the problem is the motor.

My 2004 Ford F150 driver side window won't go up or down. When I test to see if power is there it shows power on both wires in the up position only. Not in the down position what gives?
@JustinMillerAutomotive

Power on both wires means your ground is open. You should have power on one wire and ground on the other when trying to roll the window down. When you try to roll the window up, they should switch.
