Yea, it doesn’t compare (in this setup). The legendary ring just has too much stats that help scaling. It might be better in a build that uses more elements and moving parts (ice blades, blizzard etc), along with elementalist glyph etc. But I am pretty adamant about keeping my build to the “Fire Mage” theme. Don’t want more Ice than Fire effects all over my screen lol. I have seen others do it effectively with Tal’Rasha; but 3-4 of their skills are ice. At that point I’d wonder why it’s even using Incinerate lol.

@@kestononline How about CHD vs DoT? I've been trying to test in regards to burning instinct, but the damage seems to be almost the same so I can't tell between the two stats.

@@Circennify Damage % gets double effect on DoT skills scaling, so before BI gets above 100% that is better, but once your BI is above +100% (which is x2.0) then it starts edging out better. A 30% Damage % is akin to 60 stat toward the skill scaling. So Damage % double dips. DoT gets the biggest scaling so far; because the amount we get on affixes are usually sizable and it gets multiplied. ChD gets the lowest effect because 60% DoT x2.3 for example is 138 to your Burning pool. If you had 800 Burning, 138 is around 17% of that. So DoT also double dips. Which is more than say 50% Crit would add (5% scaling) which is 40 to that 800 Burning pool. So ChD only single dips. INT is also valuable and also double dips. If you had +100 INT, that’s 10% toward the skill’s scaling via INT but ALSO 4% toward the BI paragon. So INT also double dips. So from the above math you may start to see how ChD is the least valuable among the scaling options. Ideally, the paragon board (nodes, Destructive glyph), is your main/only source.

@@Circennify Endless Pyre will technically give you a bigger burning damage bump, but it requires a full 5s to ramp up to its max. It also seems like it’s an increase to your burning damage, and may not necessarily be straight-forward damage increase. Whereas Inner Flames only requires you to be healthy, which unless you’re dead you will be most of the time. doesn’t have a ramp up, is a straight damage multiplier. Though I’ve always used Glass Cannon or Inner Flames, so I haven’t tested Pyre a ton.
