@@StarEclipse775 No I haven’t watched that video but I know how damage works in the game through my own plus community findings along the way (since beta) which I’ve also then tested myself too. Since I don’t just rush/grind through leveling, every season it’s a gradual climb/progression as I tweak and experiment again with the current patch’s/season changes, or find/earn new gear etc. So getting from where I am earlier to later on, isn’t necessarily always about knowledge but more of natural gear/build progression over time. We just got some new info and they are giving Sorc/Necro a 20% increase to main stat scaling, and a 15-20% increase to core/mastery, as well as a higher cap on the S5 burning nerf (raised from 40% to 80%). @@KestonCharles Lucky you, i dont know what druid is getting next season, i havent read up on it much. It seems the real powerhouse classes are Barbarian and Sorc. @@StarEclipse775 Generally you have to understand and stack certain multipliers to scale your damage. There are good Druid builds in Season 4. If you’re struggling you should first search/check RU-vid for gameplay of Druid doing those things like Pit 90+, then have a look at how they did their build. Though rather than just straight copying it, compare it to what you currently have or what they did differently to get an understanding of where you went wrong. @@StarEclipse775 Your Main stat (mine is INT) sits in a multiplicative bucket by itself. So that translates to 10% of that value scaling to your skill. So you know just like how you can have an aspect with 20%, having 2000 INT translates to 20% scaling to my skills. In addition, on my particular build (Fire DoT) every +25 INT adds 1% scaling to my Burning Damage via the Burning Instinct paragon node. And of course, about 2.5% of my INT translates to All-Resist. So there are good reasons to invest in it. In addition, since Sorc is a glass cannon that relies on shields/immunity and barriers, then a ton of HP would be a wasted stat unless I wasn’t using Barriers or Fire Shield and instead was relying on Damage Reduction. Then more Health would scale well for effective HP. In regular play, I use 1-2 Ruby; just to get my HP to around 20k after food buffs. Conditional affixes generally have a higher max roll in the respective places/slots. So if your build is themed around a state, distance etc, and that condition is true/active most of the time… then that type of affix gives you more value or damage. The less you can maintain that condition, the less relative value that affix type has. If as a Druid all your damage is done in melee range, then the higher affixes of Damage vs Close will give you better value. So it all depends. I started with Damage % early on, but converted to DoT/Fire DoT as I leaned more into the scaling of that stat and related passives which widened the gap between them.

@StarEclipse775 9 дней назад
@@KestonCharles Yep true, im learning from you even though im a different class as my main besides my sorc alts. It may not seem like much at 2000 int being 20 percent but every little bit of damage helps. But my willpower is only 1300, i gave up some willpower for an aspect and more crit damage/chance and close enemies with tempering and another useful affix. I think the ring i gave up was nice but it really wasnt helping me do more damage then the alternative i did. My build is more damage reduction plus Earthen Bulwark druid skill so HP helps though i do get fortified and a barrier. Anyways i am in melee range almost 99 percent of the time, no ranged attacks from a distance or anything. Up close on larger enemies and bosses, that’s 510% (staff) vs 255% (1H+Focus). While Incinerate ranks in general do contribute heavily to damage, the ranks you get on Flamescar just cannot compete with the things I mentioned in the paragraph above. In addition, 1H+Focus attacks for half the amount but at higher frequency of attacks. But since the mana-cost of skills stay the same, the mana drain is much more; forcing you to use mana-options somewhere instead of a DPS or defense stat. Currently many Uniques need an overhaul to compete with the power bumps we got in Season 4, with tempering etc. Flamescar sadly is one of those. I prefer to enjoy the gameplay of encounters throughout a dungeon, not try my best to spend as little time playing the game or build I enjoy. Boss damage is very low, it will take a long time to activate engulfing flames. I did replace destruction but still am using the hydras for Dr and extra burn.

@KestonCharles
@KestonCharles 27 дней назад
@@pearlblack9753 Sorc has had single options for a long time. It’s just that most people follow the farm-type METAs which stack multipliers and rely on ALOT of CC that comes hand in hand with cold skills. And those cold skills were often of the AoE variety like Blizzard, Frost Orb, etc. I have clips on the channel of my Lilith fight from last season and it melted her just as fine. If only source info from what’s popular, you’ll be in the dark a lot. So much more viable options every season than just those.

Flame Shield phase is of course no damage, and the Ice Armour phase has some increased DR from passives but also the 5% of your damage done while it’s active bolsters and refills it. When you’re doing damage in the millions that 5% is maxing it out fairly quickly. Just have to worry about the odd time your have a gap in those or your other conditional DR isn’t in effect (enemy burning etc). I believe I have about 20k HP here.

For me especially, I do not equate Steam-rolling or being Overpowered for the content to “fun”. I play any video game for the fun in overcoming challenges. Either in play mastery or build crafting and tweaking. In addition, the theme of the character I am playing is the other aspect of enjoyment. I WANT to play a “Fire Mage”. This is why I do not use Ice offensive skills and vulnerable mixed in, even though it would be stronger and more DR. It’s not just about efficiency, or big damage, or everything being easy and not having to try. It’s about enjoying what I am doing while I am playing the game and the class. The only person I’m competing against is myself, as I gradually improve and grow my character throughout the season.

@KestonCharles
@KestonCharles Месяц назад
Just sell the good gear and uniques you find for gold on the Diablo trade website, then use that same gold to buy some new gear. I made a couple of billion in under a week just selling a few uniques. Then I budget my offers (max 10-50M) when buying gear for myself. I got a third Crit on that amulet after making this video clip; now it’s +7 Inner Flames and +3 Glass Cannon. And next week they are buffing Inner Flames to 4% per, and reducing the Glass Cannon damage taken to 2% per.
@SinnfullDuck
@SinnfullDuck Месяц назад
@KestonCharles I've had no luck selling anything so far. I'll keep trying but I'm guessing the further into the season we go, the harder it'll be to sell items. Also, I was gonna ask about inner flames. They're buffing it to match the damage of elemental dominance, so why has everyone been running inner flames over dominance until now? Mana isn't an issue at all on incinerate
@KestonCharles
@KestonCharles Месяц назад
@@SinnfullDuck Because of the higher attack speed of 1H+Focus, it drains mana much faster. Which is why if you are using Flamescar, you’ll feel that much more. But most people are using a 2H Staff with Flamethrower aspect, so the mana drain is way less. With the passive Soulfire, which brings Incinerate usage to 19 mana, you barely need any mana-regen to break even with a Staff. If you’re using a 1H+Focus that will have a harder time with Elemental Dominance, but also it only applies to your core skill (which now does include firewall/masteries). Makes it harder to mix conjurations etc like some people do. Being Healthy on Sorc is easy. Because if you’re not you are probably dead lol. Whereas your mana-state isn’t so guaranteed for varying builds. For Diablo trade, you basically just sell the things that are really good or in demand. Mostly uniques with max or near-max rolls, or a decent special aspect roll on it and a greater affix. Don’t bother listing just everything. Look on the site, see how much something sells for; if it’s in the 10-20M or above, and how many have been listed recently. Then decide how you will price yours. Price it to my to sell if there are many listed. If yours is a really good roll and not many listed recently, then price to match a competing listing.

I always appreciate your incinerate updates. I like to see different ideas. I believe i have a flamescar build that could work. I put it together tonight and now i just need to go hunting for the gear. My burning damage might end up being less by myself, maybe, but it should be stronger in the end with everything coming together plus i will have crits. Fingers crossed 🤞
@KestonCharles
@KestonCharles Месяц назад
Nice. If you go with Flamescar, try looking at Lucky Hit effects that can help you. Chance to Freeze, Stun, Daze, etc. Xfal may also work. Vulnerable also. If you do use the Flamethrower aspect, you’ll want to put it somewhere that the value ends up higher than 100%, like the necklace. Otherwise the single stream damage will be handicapped (85% of normal).

@KestonCharles Месяц назад
It can be. Incinerate has cleared Pit 100. Mine is a “themed” build (Fire Mage), so I am being particular about sticking to Fire offensive spells. But if you use Vulnerable, and Frozen Orb enchant, etc you can then use some more related Damage Reduction sources and not rely on immunity. In addition the vulnerable and multiplier stacking with stuff like TalRasha since you’ll have more elements will scale higher.

Dmg % is better and easier to get
@KestonCharles
@KestonCharles Месяц назад
Damage % is only better (x2.0 effect on DoT) before your Burning Instinct paragon gets to +100% (x2.0) and above. Then DoT starts to edge out as the % increase begins to scale higher than Damage %, and eventually the gap widens for larger numbers/amounts (eg. 45% increase to 112 Dmg vs 260 DoT affixes). Which is an extra 101% vs 251% respectively after their scaling. So if you’re not min-maxing much, Damage % keeps your gear a bit more flexible in case you want to use it for other builds etc. But if you’re going full-tilt into Incinerate, Damage % becomes the secondary priority. That extra DPS then makes it easier to put in some defensive options and stats without your damage being too gimped. I started off preferring Damage % also, but once I began having to drop some DPS/Topaz for Ruby Gems to help survival, every bit of potential damage gained/lost started to matter more.

thoughts on damage vs. distant affix?
@KestonCharles
@KestonCharles Месяц назад
I personally stay away from conditionals that won’t apply to every enemy you fight. For many bosses, especially the medium to larger ones, you’ll be close up so that the 3 Fire streams all hit them. And for most adds or smaller enemies, you’ll be distant to start, but often up close if you see elites… because you generally want to rush elites ASAP. This so that they’ll be in range when flame shield wears off and get stunned, but also that it’s easier to AoE-burn packs after you use Inferno. Just have a look at the most recent gameplay clip (T71 Pit: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tdfut9VFs44.html ) for an idea of how I play it; far to start on lesser as they will walk into and die by the time they reach you, in close for packs with elites. If you get Damage vs Distant and have no more temper rolls or are close to bricking an item, well roll with it and make do. But it’s not the ideal choice.

Hi, do you recommend Fire Damage Overtime or Damage Overtime?, im very confused with those 2 :(
@KestonCharles
@KestonCharles Месяц назад
You want Fire Damage Over time, because this gets scaled/multiplied with the Burning Instinct paragon node. So for example if you had +120% on your BI node, that would be x2.2 (1 + 1.2). Making 60 Fire DoT into 132 Burning Damage; which is more than 60 Fire Damage which doesn’t get scaled by anything. Incidentally Damage %’s value gets doubled when applied to DoT skills. So 60% Damage % is worth 120% to Incinerate. Meaning up to +100% (x2.0) on the BI node, Damage % is better. But once you get above that, Fire DoT starts edging it out to be the better choice.

@KestonCharles Месяц назад
For most content Sorc doesn’t need a super high HP pool. Your survival is a combination of: Your Health, Your Barriers/Shields like Ice Armor and Flame Shield, plus damage reduction (DR vs Close, Distant, Burning, Vulnerable, Chilled, etc). In addition to your Armour and Elemental Resistances of course. Your Barriers from most things are based on your Max HP, so more can help but you don’t need to invest too heavily. Also, you can swap the gems in your armour between Topaz (INT) or Ruby (Max Life %) to suit your needs. The Barrier from Ice Armour gets beefed up from 5% of the damage you deal while it’s active, so you want to pop Ice Armour right before you unleash a volley of damage on the enemies. You will also want to look for ways to reduce the cooldown and lengthen the uptime on your defensive skills. Ice Armour, Flame Shield, Frost Nova, Teleport are all defensive tools. Usually you will use 2 or 3 of them on your bar.
