Aegis! When Song of Flame is paired with spirit of the claw or claws itself, your melee energy overflows into snap so fast it allows you to spam it pretty heavily. I pulled around 5.6 mil on hefnd using primarily that and microcosm, so it may be worth testing further!

Finally a reputable source talks about warlock tick/buddy DPS as it’s close to being “free” with you not having to physically shoot them, I would like to see testing of 6 tick spam warlocks and if the shatter/unravel spam can power through other team mates possibly stealing your own instances of damage or not

A fun (minor) interaction with song of flame is that Claws of Ahamkara let's you spam snaps back to back. Makes it a real pity it's in the same column as stareater on the class items

I like how Twilight Arsenal is a shift not because of the DPS and debuff it can add but because its universally applicable unlike most of Titan's Supers where they just dont work on like half the relevant bosses in the game.

About the buddy warlock dps rotation, not only can you unravel with arcane needle but you can proc facet of dawn and keep radiant up for the extra damage!

Something worth noting about Song of Flame, the fire bird grenade counts for the demolitionist perk reload. As such weaving a demo Apex Predator or Roar of the Bear is a significant boost to the overall damage output without much of an impact on the grenade to melee alternation timing.

Edit: I’m kinda stupid and severely misremembered what occurred when I tested this. So, synthocepts do buff the ignition damage of the snap, but only out of the super. I think this makes the melee do more damage out of super than in super. I’m kinda surprised you didn’t talk about synthocepts with the song of flame exotics. It increases the the melee by 2.5x, including the ignition. Though, the ignition only is increased if the first scorch is a melee and counts as melee damage, like with sunbracers. It’s pretty good with acrius if you can be surrounded, like in ir yut. It can also be used with apotheosis, which is kinda nice for an acrius rotation to continue spamming 2.5x ignition melees after song ends or just with a nova (though, in nova without star eaters feels counterproductive). I love the video and the amount of effort you go through to get good numbers

Twilight arsenal being that much lower than nova and celestial is brutal, I really hope they cook with the buffs.

Whishful ignorance also works with the flechette storm. You should look into that. Not saying it will destroy synthos, but it is highlighted in the exotic description, so i think it deserves a chance

19:10 iirc with solar grenades, only one solar nade ticks, but the globs from all of them do damage i believe(?) it's the same with most other things, only one instance of that respective DoT will tick across all players

Very nice. I'm really liking Prism Warlock, it has damage, utility, ad-clear. Here's to hoping Bungie fixes Star-eaters with Needlestorm (and cracks down on Liars grapple melee cause I hate hunters).

with Song of Flame & the Exotic class item The claw, it gives you 2 snaps at the start. I can do a 2 snap 1 grenade cycle pretty easily with its uptime though i doubt it would come close to Star Eaters of course

There's one weird team damage comp I'd love to see tested, and it's using caster frames with attrition orbs and wolfpacks and spamming supers. With a whole team doing it I imagine you'll get supers incredibly quickly, so with cuirass thundercrash you could put out some ridiculously high total damage, although I don't know how good the DPS would be. With recuperation you'd have insanely high health regen too, so survivability against non burst damage wouldn't be an issue either. Probably wouldn't be too tier, but would be very funny

i’d be interested to see your thoughts on the best ways to apply buffs/debuffs in lower man content while still keeping good dps and roaming gameplay. other than that great vid and can’t wait for more content!

Theoretically, you can pre-pop Nova Bomb and Needlestorm if you time it really well, Nova Bomb Cataclysm will be more forgiving since it takes longer to reach the target.

I cannot stress enough how good Song of Flame is when you’re the one in charge of using Tractor Cannon on a boss. Not only are you outputting damage that can keep up with everyone else, but you’re freeing up your Hunters’ super slot to go wild with Blade Barrage/Golden Gun/Gathering Storm. Now if I can just get the Star-Eater Apotheosis roll to drop.

apparently double exotic class item is still a thing, it just requires you to do some real funny stuff where you beat the mission, make it so your spawn isn't kept and it puts you at the beginning the area just after doing the symbols, there then is enough time on the clock to get back to the final area and claim the second exotic

Gotta say, really surprising that the 10% from courage bumps hellion to the level of ashes, which makes it ignite in one less shot. Ashes still feels far better for roam content but it's interesting that they match up so closely for passive DPS.

When you get to solo damage rotations, I would love to know if taking Getaway for the arc soul is worth giving up the SES buff to Slowva bomb. Doubt it, but if they're close maybe some people would prefer it to make their neutral game easier.

For the solar nades doing ridiculous dmg, it’s tough of flame. If the lava blobs from touch solar grenades direct hit something they deal their dmg instantly (not sure if it’s actually the total dmg of the burn pool or something else tho). Templar has a good hit box to catch a lot of those before they touch ground so instead of a non stacking burn you get a whole bunch of instant dmg hits

It only took 6 years for warlocks to get their first competitive burst damage super in D2 history.

Void wall much like thermite has often been one of those historically(talking ages back) “always been solid” effects, I think it’s just realistically the setup and application just doesn’t really pan out often because of how physical time and damage wise it’s not really concentrated the same way as other grenades which can lead to a lot of effect damage off target, 99.9% of the game that you’re going to get with it can be dispatched with other means even if it’s less damage thrown at them, and physically you can’t just plop the grenade on a solid target like a vortex or fusion, there is the canisters angle and bounce that can be goofed. It’s a lot of good on paper stuff the application is where it gets iffy.

For a song of flame if you use claws of ahmedkare, you can. spam, the super melee .Because your second charge Will always. Be fully charged So you spam melee And if you use heavy snap. With the fragment that increases scorch On top of solar Buddy. Almost every hit you do and your solar buddy do will trigger Ignite

I just wished they’d also fix thunder crash hit detection. The amount of times I’ve slid around while trying to hit a boss or just phasing through is too damn high. Also love the videos, preciate the amount of work and effort you put into all your videos and information.

Have you by any chance looked at song of flame with claws of ahamkara? Due to the additional charge there is no downtime with spamming the melee as once you use the melee the second melee is already back. Also since the grenade wisp has a slightly longer cooldown I believe you are able use two snaps before the wisp grenade is back.

I know warlock prismatic nade its not as good as hunters one for raw damage, but I been trying it with incinerator snap, even when theres no minors around, assuming the boss stays in the nade radius for most of the time and you can ignite from the snap (not hard with the bigger hitbox of bosses) I get both abilities back quite fast, I wonder how that stacks overall, besides, its utility is great, it helps weakening targets with void, and applies a darkness debuff for facet of courage

The biggest issue with twlight arsenal is the tracking just straight up breaks and goes in random directions sometimes... but man, it says a lot that it's titans one and only reliable burst option and it still needs buffs 😢. Still, I've been having fun with it, it's a great addition to titan.

I’ve been having a fun time using Storm’s Edge for damage to change things up When I can, especially in free roam, dungeons, etc. it’s actually not bad damage with Star Eaters. Sometimes I get bored of Golden Gun. Will always love it though!

Song of Flame + Tractor + Trench Agg Shotty is very strong for melee range bosses. Consistently coming close to fully juiced swords during Herald while providing tractor debuff.

Claws of ahamkaka work with song of flame btw. You can do 2 melee's before your wisp is recharged. Perhaps very strong if you have a exotic bond with spirit of the claw and spirit of the star-eater

I think one thing that stasis ability’s in general need to be accounted for is that they give a 10% stacking debuff for non primary’s and ability’s which might effect testing like what you did for bleakwatcher. Although the effective debuff is lower due to the naturally limited uptime.

a rotation/damage idea that has been bouncing around in my head since pyrogale came out: thermites are one of the better grenades for swap dps, so what if you used roaring flames and pyrogale hoil swap? in dungeon scenarios like avarokk or certain bosses with access to adds during dps like rhulk shadow thrall, it shouldnt be too hard to get roaring flames in a good window before dps, giving 15-20 seconds of a near verity level 73% damage increase to your thermites, alongside a damage super in pyrogale. to capitalize on the short window you have to benefit from roaring flames, the initial cast of pyrogale will generate a sunspot for 12 seconds and you can swap to hoil in menu during the cast animation similar to celestial -> foetracer swap. combining those two scalars and benevolence torches throwing hammer, you can seriously crank your ability uptime. normally the spam of abilities would be dps loss but i am curious if the multiplier from roaring flames and optimized ability timing in something like an izzy/wild/apex rotation could work out. this is probably a huge pain to realistically test, but i would love to hear your thoughts on the premise

Since the Warlocks on my team have been running Song of Flame (instead of Well), I've been running Banner Shield to grant the 40% damage to weapons. In other words, SoF indirectly made Banner Shield more relevant.

For Twilight: I think that buff is actually coming in August per the TWAB. I do believe they said in the stream it was coming at Act 2 launch but I think that was a miscommunication.

How would song of flame go with a necrotic/grasps class item? That gives you 2 melees that afaik deal extra damage from poison

I don't know if you tested it but chain lightning basically has 0 cooldown whilst transcendent, it probably isn't competitive in the DPS department but I'm curious either way. Also did you test/consider testing song of flame with star eater + claw?

The primary attack of Winter's Wrath can be canceled with right click halfway through shooting to only release one volley of icicles. Lets you conserve enough super energy to go from 6 shatters to 8 shatters. May not be the greatest for DPS, but with Ballidorse Wrathweavers I think it's decent total damage. Also something nice is that iirc you can swap from whatever exotic youre using to Ballidorse after already casting your super and still get the damage bonus.

Something i wanted to look at was heavy and specials doing extra damage against frozen targets, which i always presumed to be negligible but now that silence and squall is so close to nighthawk now and it freezes way more often now, i’m interested to see how it interacts with your fireteam’s damage, if it can surpass golden gun. Let me know if you’d wanna test that sometime :)

From the wording used, it sounds as if you're confused on the subject of Solar grenades stacking their d.o.t. and its function pre-Solar 3.0. Sunbracers were initially underpowered due to Solar grenades at base not doing any noticeable improvement to damage when stacked vs just 1. That functionally changed in Season of the Haunted, where they gave boosted solar grenades the globs of lava that shoot out. The touch of Flame enhance to solar grenades is what allows them to stack on top of each other for massive profit. I imagine if you tested with a single solar grenade, or if you calculated the damage of 4? grenades with apotheosis veil to see a more even comparison

Hey Aegis, Thank you for all the testing. I found it very interesting. For DPS purposes, I used to go with my Warlock in Supremacy, Primary, and Apex. I go with Rewind Rounds and Kinetic Tremors for my Supremacy, and BnS and Demo for my Apex. As I wear Starfire Protocol, the goal was to proc BnS with 2 shots of Supremacy (to proc Kinetic Tremors) and then go rocket/grenade/rocket, then reload. I usually shoot my full reserve pretty quickly. I know it's not an optimized DPS strat, but it's so easy to go with. Do you think it's still relevant in the new sandbox or not anymore?

love the video! ive been curious about a dps rotation on prismatic hunter using a star eater and foetracer cloak on golden gun and caster pf ergo sum. something about popping 6x stareaters with golden gun then having x4 ergo sum with transcendence seems like it can really cook. plus you can use surges of another type on your boots for your heavy if you were to add one in! would love to know your thoughts if you have any

I have a sword boss rotation i used to use on Crota that has been buffed with wolfpack Urgo Sum being a thing, and I'd be curious how it stacks up as a rotation if you feel like trying it: Arc hunter, Gathering Storm super, Star Eaters x6 then swap to Foetracer on cast Full mag of fourth horseman, dodge reload, full mag Swap to relentless/whirlwind Goldtusk (pop grenade to reproc Foetracer) light attack spam Swap to holster mod reloaded Fourth horseman full mag x2, melee finish to reproc foetracer Swap to Goldtusk spam till finish Also if this is viable, I'd be curious if a Summum Bonum with relentless/Chaos Reshaped X2 would be better than Goldtusk, as I don't have that roll yet.
