I have been using this ru-vid.comUgkx1_veP7CApJK_GWy_TczaMciuG64PqJeU as a handy reference book. I read through the book and enjoyed the little glimpses of examples. I love that this author believes in rescue dogs. The tips and training has been invaluable and gave me moments of...."how simple why didn't I think of it" so it's been a great tool. Thank you!
Really nice litter of puppies! Every dog has their day would apply. Every one of these pups has nice qualities and will work best in their own time and some training. Once figure out what they need, they will make excellent partners!
I’ve watched this video more times than I can remember but secretly it’s because of the puppies. I can’t help but wonder what great things each of them will accomplish in their life time such as taking down the bad guys, working with law enforcement, or protecting a family from being hurt or worse, killed. Either way, I feel confident in their future because their training begins with Shield K9. Enough said……
So basically what you are looking for is a puppy that has high prey drive but no interest in dogs and loud noises? That's interesting! Just watching this video, I admire what you do to pick them. I plan on getting a dog for protection work in the far future so this is really interesting
I noticed sometimes the puppy will get too attached to the trainer. Nothing wrong with that, but getting too distracted in the workplace is not generally ideal for working dogs.
Thank you for all this I love German Shepherd dogs I had two of them in my life I got them as older dogs and they both protected me with their life I will say this what you're doing is great but I think I kind of disagree because maybe these are puppies and they are and they're beautiful the most perfect breed of dog is a German Shepherd and maybe they'd be good watch dogs as I get older because puppies like to play and maybe these dogs just like to play right now even the ones that are not qualified in your opinion is guard dogs or protection dogs the personalities can change later but by enlarge my favorite dog will always be the German Shepherd and my second favorite would be a golden retriever because they're fun dogs if you have children have a golden retriever thank you for all this it's beautiful my favorite dog the German Shepherd🥰🐕🐶🐕🦺🦮💜❤🐾🐾
So Haz, I am trying to advise a puppy that's being transported to the US. May do schutzhund or another bite work training, you say on fear, would you say a puppy that recovers first, stays alone longest, or last to be actually afraid with the litter would be more stable? All 3 are beautiful personalities, I found the 1st to recover and shake it off also has by far the most intense prey drive. She would totally be my first pick personally, next pick for was calm longest he went to the litter 2nd last but not upset-like and finally got nervous after noticing the others more nervous, and 3rd she stayed by herself halfway between the stimulus and litter the longest but was nervous prior to the mentioned male. what do you think? I'll still be doing more with them but it's hard to rank it as it's such differences
I don't think you can tell with much reliability which dogs are going to be good at eight weeks of age. Might be able to separate one or two outliers at that age but even then it's extremely difficult to predict how a dog's going to mature
I'm paralyzed and in a wheelchair dealing with depression. I had the chance to by a Shepard the other day. Without getting to view or know it before hand, it seems to be more like blue puppy number 4 and shows signs like you "don't buy these puppies". Shy, skittish, doesn't acknowledge voice but is very dependent of me right from the start. Can I work with him from a wheelchair and will he be open socially/protective dog or will he be more of a general pet? Ask away for more information. Thanks for the videos.
i would presume it has something to do with 1. training and 2. job role they want big food drive to be able to use food to train they want high prey drive so that when they go to grab an attacker or criminal? for example they have the natural instinctive drive to hold on and catch. they want a dog not scared of loud bangs and noise just my take on it.
Hi Mate I'm Hooked to your dog and puppy Training videos. I have question ,I recently adopted Pit Bull puppy and I'm in the 2 week period to either keep her or return her back. Reason I'm even thinking about returning is she is dominant and food aggressive against my other lovely natured 7 month old Spayed Kelpie Cross. The reason I even went to adopt another dog was seeing how good my kelpie was and totally falling in love with her nature. Will spaying the PIT BULL HELP. OR should I return the Pit bull. JUST things About the Pit Bull She is dog aggressive especially to my Kelpie She is not human aggressive.
Your camera levels out the sound by itself so loud sound are not as loud and quiet sound arent as quiet thats why when you crack the wipe it doesnt sound as loud.
There is no way of Telling how good a puppy is at that age. And testing the prey drive well let’s take a pitbull extreme amount of prey drive but they don’t have enough sense. Get a puppy That has three generations of dogs you’re looking for Buy three puppies and start training if they’re not looking good at 15 months look at it this way the funnest part of this hobby Is to master the art of training a dog
