It's hard see difference in how guns lay clear down, because if you know how to paint (like you do) then you almost automatically make adjustments when your spraying for the best finish. Interesting video tho!
I was just in my local harbor freight in pa. Today 12th of January. They only had the older one on display. So I got on there websites and found the newest one. They were both priced at $178.00.

Looking at the peel, I'd say the old BW laid out cleaner than the new.. But, that's same settings and the 2 guns are slighty different, so I'd imagine the settings need slight tweaking. I'd probably try 27-28psi and see if that new one lays a touch better. It looks a lot like a cross between an Iwata and Devilbiss. Both look damn good for the money. I literally just bought the old one 3 weeks ago, now I'm debating if I should swap it or wait for another 25% coupon and just get the new also. Make 1 a base gun and the other dedicated clear.
budget wise for me I would go with the center then 1st gun if I was doing a repair where I want a little bit of peal, but if I was going for high end I wouldn't use any of them but wouldn't even buy the silver gun at all, but I do like a rear fanand i like a wider fan what was fan size on the New BW
Judging off the video it’s hard to tell a good difference between them all. I painted cars for 15 years and all three of those panels are slicker than most factory jobs. A problem I had was not matching colors, it was matching texture. Normally I’d have to sped up or drop back to match factory texture. That new spectrum looks more built like a iwata so i ask is the fan more tuliped tip or is jt more like a standard pattern? like
Ok, it seems like other than the peel, the black widows are more glassed out than the chrome one.. im considering using my chrome hte for base and going and getting the new blackwidow for a designated clear gun. Would that be ideal or should i use my chrome hvlp instead, it has a 1.7 tip on it..
I do know that the Chrome Model, Does well on Base Coat around 22-24 PSI, But on Metallic's, it can lay the Metallic's odd, Just do Med coats and 2 drop coats! I hope this helps!
For the cost of those guns I'd buy a devibis flg 5 or ani 160 and probably still have money left over for cups and have a much better gun you can get parts for down the road. Real test between the three would be base/clear not just a flow coat over clear. And a bigger area but I get what you're trying to achieve. No disrespect intended
You can to check and see how much or how many CFM's the compressor puts out. But if the compressor runs a lot, you'll need to make sure to add a water separator.

@@luxe-kustomsThanks so much for this video, but you forgot the Spectrum HVLP Black Widow! Its supposedly better for everything but clear, but still would have liked to see it in the line up. I think the non widow might even have an HVLP..... Do you have a video on the HVLPs? If not would you consider making one? thanks
@@ianirwin1237 Its a 1.7 fluid tip, More for primers or product that needs to go on thick, If you spray clear with a 1.7, your PSI would need to like 40-50 psi...LOL
Why?? I have zero issues with it and have sprayed everything from Primer to base, candy to hs clear with it and all came out great! I do use a Ingersoll Rand with 3 Stage filteration though 😊
