Love your videos I have a G70. Have had JB 4 for about 8 months. I keep mine in stage 2 when running E 30 get about 21lbs of boost. Initially was getting some codes with the JB 4, but it seems to have adjusted itself, gives me good boost in 2. I am running stock exhaust with intakes (of course changed plugs) got a TCU from Lap 3. I have a 2 wd car had traction issues, at like 3k it just broke lose. Best thing I bought was a peddle control, so boost starts at about 1250 and is more subtle. Much more drivable.
I can speak from experience.. Jb4. If budget is an issue, you can't go wrong with jb4. But if comparing it to an actual dedicated ecu like lozic/lap3 then its a whole different ball game. I have the lozic ecu and boy.. it makes the jb4 look like childs play. It also made my car smoother/crispier in DD use.
@@OVRBoosted Yep, very true. Lozic is excellent. JB4 is a good solution and very flexible. Can't go wrong with either but you will find the tuned ECUs offer more power. A great starting point is the Lozic TCU with JB4. Unlock the power that's held back by the factory TCU.
curious. How much hp/torque were you able to get from the tuning on your car? And i heard that even though the engine power is factory locked, you can fry the engine if you "overpower it". Any idea on that?
I believe some variables would make a difference like IAT temps and air density. I also have my safety set at 24psi on my jb4 and am running the jb4 default settings. I want to push the car, but I also don’t want to over boost it.
Daily Driving JB4 Is perfect for the price. I would love a LAP3 Stage 1.0 I only have 91 octane. So not sure how much quicker LAP3 Stage 1 I'd over Map 4 or Map 7. JB4 SUPPORT like u said is hands down best customer support
@kyoakland I ended up getting LAP 3 2.5 I have CPI too and I run E60 most of the time or up to E78. Night and day over stock. Way faster than my JB4 days. I still use my JB4 to control CPI and to lower my Lap3 ECU boost by 2 psi to keep it in the safe 19psi. Otherwise it would be even faster.
Thank you for this. I’m on the fence right now. Considering the JB4 vs Lozic ECU. I’ve ordered my performance mods that I’ll begin installing soon - plugs, snorkels, intake, sway bars and FMIC. I’m waiting to see what MBRP comes out with for the 22s before I finalize my order of an exhaust. The JB4 is the cheaper option. I can get the Lozic TCU and JB4 for the cost of just the Lozic ECU. Did you install the EWG wires.
You’re right on the same page as me. I also want to ad a tcu tune and am looking at lozic. Jb4 is an amazing piggy back and half the price. I don’t know if Lap 3 really is that much of a difference for double the price. Thank you for your comment!
Is anyone else getting an issue with their stinger throwing check engine codes for "running lean" with the O2 sensors? It's a problem that I can't figure out
@@OVRBoosted yes I am. I set up everything properly (at least I believe so) using the adapters as opposed to puncturing the wires and after 50 or so miles I get error codes "P0151 O2 sensor circuit low voltage bank 2 sensor 1" P2097 Post Catalyst fuel trim system too rich bank 1 and then that same code for bank 2. Also I'm not getting a reading of the gauges on the jb4 app itself which I'm guessing is a screwed up obd2 wire that needs to be replaced. Currently I'm running it without the O2 sensor wires connected to see if any errors pop up
@@deadpool1092 for the jb4 not reading try going to the port where you plug the obd into the jb4 and flipping it. That plug on the jb4 will go in both ways. I had the same issue until I flipped it.
Great video! I The Stinger is in high contention for replacing my Charger SRT 392. It's a very difficult decision but I'm looking for a better handling platform and of course the AWD in Canada scores some high brownie points. My question is how much punishment can the tranny take with the higher boost levels? Do the JB4 maps limit torque in launch or is full boost from a gig? Thanks in advance. Looking forward to your reply
The jb4 doesn’t override the factory launch control so the transmission doesn’t get to much torque. The transmission had issues I hear when guys do the Brake snip and launch it hard at 3000 or higher rpm. If you want a 450hp car that looks good and can be driven in any season then the stinger is a great option. The jb4 package is on the calmer side of things. When you start Tcu and ecu tuning with cpi or meth, that’s when things get serious.
There was a recent set of comments in a twn2rbo video that addressed this very question. It’s at the 2 minute mark and then in the comments. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-azVxVlQHoFo.html
I haven’t played around to much with 1/4 mile. I’m going to get a dragy and see. I’m more interested in the 0-60 times. My goal is to get into the 3 second range. I think I’ll need a tcu tune and then that will be possible.
You should send your logs into burger Motorsports. That’s way to high. You could potentially blow a turbo or head off your car. I wouldn’t recommend going over 24psi. Maybe go into your app settings and set he boost protection to 24psi max so you don’t over boost.
Same here. I get 25-26 boost stock and Map 2-4 I get up to 30. Not sure what the deal is. I drive a 2021 a4 and there isn’t much insight on these engines. 2.0L turbo as well
Hey my son just got a G70 same motor and Jb4, what kind of fuel are you running in the JB4 , E85 and if you are do you have a flex fuel kit or is it not needed?
I am running some e85. I add about 6 gallons to a tank. I don’t have the flex fuel I just run the jb4 fuel wires. They probably aren’t as accurate as the flex fuel kit.
I’d highly recommend changing the spark plugs. The problem with the stock ones using any map is a potential blow out on the plug or cracking. I wouldn’t recommend using the stock plugs on anything but the factory settings.
Also, what’s faster in this price range? A jb4 and some plugs is under 1k to add 50-100hp. Name one car that competes in the price range of the stinger?
@@thegamersgalaxy2855 come on the Q60 red sport is 4.5s 0-60 that’s not faster, he Camaro ss lt1 is 4 seconds on perfect conditions. I did an 11.8 quarter and 3.78 0-60 with just a jb4. Plus the stinger is a way better looking car then both of the and it’s a 4 door you’re literally comparing 2 door coupes. I get it you don’t like the stinger, but come on man. Seriously?
Well, visual appeal is personal. Yes, I think a Q60 is a FAR better looking ride than a stinger, but again, personal. Your car is a mid high 4’s car as well🥴 You e worked it a lot to get faster times. Anyone can do that with any car. 300C SRT8 is definitely faster than a stinger. ANY SRT is faster. Look it’s all good. To me to purchase a Kia and work it like this is silly🤷🏼♂️ but hey, it’s your ride so keep doing you. I didn’t intend to tile you up. It was a legit query on my part.
