Could you imagine how praised this car would be if it had 4 rings in place of the Kia badge? Such a nice car i've been dreaming since 1 year and im still working for this car
FWIW, I have a 2018 GT-1 I had bought when the car first came out. The JB4 was on it as soon as it became available. Ive had nothing but good luck with it as well if anyone was wondering about long term. Only thing to keep in mind is that it WILL go through spark plugs. Zero issues.
Yes, I agree. It’s great and can’t be beat for performance versus cost. Of course there is other options to get more performance, but it will cost you.
I always have people ask about it and look at it. Even know it’s been around for 5 years, I feel there isn’t that many of them out there. So when people see it they wonder what it is. Even if I’m driving and see a stinger on the road I always think they look so good, but I’m also bias 😂
Drove to Pennsylvania other day, an old couple stopped in front of my 2019 stinger GT1 and took picture of it and guess what I am super stock 😂. So to answer your question, yes it does! Only hate you will get is from keyboard warriors not from true car enthusiasts! They love it!
@@abulhashem-jc9mv oh I had a guy comment on my previous video. He said “Kia is for poor people” then I hit him with some facts. He was unable to have a conversation, he just wanted to take time out of his day to insult people.
You’re a real chad for being able to see this car for what it is: a genuinely awesome alternative to the usual choices-BMW, Audi, Mercedes… I’m running JB4 map 2 but I think I might be ready to start experimenting with ethanol…
I hear good things about the EK1. I have been looking into it with cpi. It might be my next upgrade. It’s pretty new, so I’m just waiting to see feed back.
@@OVRBoosted You won’t regret having an EK1. In addition to the BEF, you can also add a TCU tune. Also recommend CPI as well if there is e85 in your area. Make sure to look into the fuel it kit ethanol sensor as well.
@@mikeerickson3046 I do have a lap 3 tcu, but none of the other stuff you listed. I’m trying to decide what my next mod will be. I’m pretty satisfied with the performance right now, but a little more wouldn’t hurt. I have ran an 11.9 quarter.
It doesn’t sound like a door latch. It sounds like it’s coming from the bumper area. It’s the weirdest thing. It sounds like rubber or plastic flexing, but only when I turn and give just a touch of throttle at low speeds.
@@canocardonapr I’ll definitely take a look again. I have been under there trying to figure it out now I’m at the point I turn up the music. It will eventually drive me crazy.
Have you tried a LAP3 ECU tune? I know you have the TCU tune, I have been looking at getting the ECU/TCU combo from them. Did the TCU tune crisp up the transmission? My shifts have occasionally felt a little sloppy and was hoping the firmer TCU tune would clean that up a little. Do you also have high flow cats/no cats and secondary downpipes and the transmission cooler? LAP 3 recommends all those pieces for the ECU/TCU stage 1.5 and was wondering if they were actually necessary. I already have the K&N typhoon intakes and a borla catback. Not buying the HFC, downpipes, and trans cooler would save me like 2.5k which would be nice lol.
I have not tried the ECU tune. I feel I’m able to run in the 11’s quarter mile and 3’s 0-60mph, so I’m relatively happy with that right now. I feel the jb4 is the safest alternative. I have yet to hear of anyone have engine issues with a jb4. I do not have primary or secondary cats, I just have a cat back borla exhaust. The Lap3 TCU does make the shifts a little crisper, but it’s not a super noticeable difference from the stock tcu. The biggest difference is the launch capability’s and a tad quicker response when manual shifting. It’s honestly hard to justify their price point. I feel there is way cheaper tcu tunes that will accomplish the same results.
P.S yes, a trans cooler is a great investment. The trans is the weak link on the cars drive train. I know many who have added the cooler and are very happy. It will bring longevity to your transmission as long as you’re not launching the car all the time.
@@OVRBoostedyour lap3 tcu tune still performs better with manual shifting? I have Jb4 and bolt ons. Was debating on a tcu tune next, but if paddle shifting gets the job done doesn’t sound like it’s worth it.
@@OVRBoostedHello. It is impossible to remove the primary coils ...... The turbines break down and drive the oil. They need back pressure, which is created by the primary cuttings, since they do not have stubborn podshibnikov.
JB4 has been great for me, it's easy to install and being able to see your map curves and what's going on,also being able to change maps based on available gas quality all pluses ...If you have good gas and E85 boom...I just installed snorkels and although I love the sounds of the open air filters, I'm thinking snorkels and the factory airboxes with drop in filters is the way to go espcially for IAT's...But I'm getting the bug for more possibly CPI or a full ecu tune...How are you liking the TCU?
Yeah, I agree the jb4 offers a lot for the price point. Easy to upgrade and add cpi or meth if a guy wanted or just run some 93. My tcu is okay, I like it for the launch capability and the touch quicker manual response when shifting. However I still think the highly overpriced it.
@@Miguel-xr8yj it could depending on your dealership. I’d advise to remove it when going in for service. Better to be safe then sorry. Some guys have reported they bring it in with the jb4 and their dealer is okay with it. I always take mine off.
Just wondering if you’ll be getting the EK1? I recently got WMI (i have pretty much all the other bolt ons plus the JB4) and Terry at BMS suggested the EK1 for its full potential. Would love to see a review on the EK1 if you end up getting it. Im thinking of getting the pro one. Thanks for all your videos, helps me chose some of my upgrades!
You are welcome and thank you most of all for viewing my little channel. I do appreciate it. Right now I am just watching how people are making out with the ek1 right now. It’s pretty new, but so far it looks to be impressive. It’s definitely on my mind for sure.
@@OVRBoosted you’re welcome! That’s pretty much what I’m doing right now, just waiting for a little bit more information. And I’m leaning towards an air ride as well so I’m not sure what to do next lol!
@@brian3255 it truly is a really amazing product. No one can argue that. It delivers as advertised and has lots of options, depending on what each individual desires.
Thanks for the vid. Just installed Denso sparks before the JB4. After how many KMs did you change the sparks. Also got the NGT spacers installed and your vid was useful as always
I would change out the stock spark plugs before adding the JB4. After that you should be good for 15k-20k km. I always pull one out and look at it every couple thousand km’s. Thank you for your comment.
On my jb4 I don’t get display for transmission or oil temps. BMS suggested the platform doesn’t support this. But I’m sure I have seen it on other jb4/stinger vids. Thanks again. Looking forward to the next vid
@@tabraizhayat8520 I believe both car’s platforms are identical when it comes to trans and such. Have you held on one of the display gauges on your main screen and then scrolled through the options provided? You can customize your gauges to read what you want them to.
Yeh I have done that. And I chose to see the transmission temp and it was not showing contacted BMS said the platform doesn’t support. Just wondering if it could be my firmware or have ppl tried to read the transmission temp and it not reading it.
It takes 10 min to completely remove. You can just unplug the obd if you want, but if it’s because you want to remove it for dealership purposes, I’d take it all out.
Just got a stinger, wanting to know if i add a jb4, intakes(already done), and and X pipe , would i be pushing atleast 400-415WHP? Just to note, ill only be on map 2 93 octane. no fuel mixes
I’d have to say yes to that, I believe some have put that combo on the dyno and seen around 400 to the wheels. If you as e85 and go to map 3 or 4 you’re definitely over 400. My guess depending on altitude is 430-450hp.
Quick question. What power increase can you expect on map 2 would it be around 4.2 to 60 on map 2? Also what else needs to be done to the car to go to map 3 or map 4 or can you run map 3 or 4 with just upgraded plugs
Do map 2 on 93 Oct I’d say at least a solid 50+ hp. Map 3-4 all you need to do is mix in some e85. I’d suggest around 5 gallons of e85 and the rest 91-93 octane. Upgraded plugs is really the only critical thing. An oil catch can is just for preventative maintenance and cold air intakes sound good and might increase the airflow a touch an exhaust would help slightly as well. I think low 4 second 0-60 is realistic on map 2, however the 0-60 time really boils down to your launch.
@@OVRBoosted Awesome thank you! One last question for you. I hear a lot about people sending in logs to burgermotor sports do you recommended sending in the information to them so they can review? By me sending in log info what does that accomplish? to make sure the psi and everything is good?
@@flightman7594 you can just email a log in right off the app. I do it from time to time to make sure all looks good. I was running a 2 step colder plug, so I wanted them to look at a log of a few pulls. They are way better at reading the data then I am. Some people send logs when they are having issues like over boost, misfires and such. I’d only send them a log if something feels off to you with the car. If it’s running good I personally wouldn’t worry about it.
@@user-dv9zg6qf2z yes and no, I have heard also that you won’t really notice much of a difference. But I can’t comment because I haven’t tried them out.
