The wax is natural, it’s likely just a waxy cuticle and the weird liquid spots is simply pigment from the apple that’s been drawn out due to the increase in temperature which increased the rate of diffusion of liquids from the Apple. Neither substances that you saw on the Apple are dangerous and inedible.
(im a guy btw) the wax is a protective layer that the apple grows whilst on the tree, its 100% natural however some companies may add a tiny layer of natural wax called Carnauba which is used to give the apple a longer shelf life in some cases, this was is also used in making a shiny layer on sweets and is 100% edible and non toxic. also i assume the red fluids leaking out of the apple is the natural pigment used for the coloring of the skin, so since you washed away its protective wax layer its able to leak out of the skin giving it that look. the weird fibres that come ouf of the muffin is gluten, this appears because all the other ingredients are able to be washed away and pushed through the seive but the gluten is too thick to be pushed through and washed away, this was the case for the video he saw. p.s. i got the answers for these off of google, after finding it out and double/tripple checking on other websites this is what i found, if any of it is wrong people correct me in the comments, and if you wish to find the reasons for the other things and why they did/didnt work google is a great place for answers :)
@@mindaugaslaurinaitis1244 *And also I'm pretty sure the "wax"* is just the waxy cuticle layer of any plant. But they may have actually put wax because why not.
@@nyxh.7567 Considering how often videos like theirs are total nonsense lies it's highly likely something they added in the editing process for views/clicks
The wax on apples is put on to extend the shelf life and to make them look shiny and pleasing to the eye. The wax is food based and edible, and apples normally create their own natural wax layer anyway, nothing to be worried about. And I think (correct me if wrong) the red "blood" stuff coming out may be pigment from the red skin coming out because of the boiling water, I did notice that the skin looked discolored because of it.
Depending on the company that processed the apple some do use food coloring with the wax to make the apple look a brighter more appealing red color just like how farmed salmon is grayish but they use food coloring to correct the color
@@nomukyowopanda5175 no that is a fact, many apples do produce this protective layer against bugs, this my friend is btw. the reason some kinds of apples last longer then others. Supermarkets usually has the ones with the biggest layer, so they can store them for longer..... but there are kinds that get it artificially, in Germany for example that is illegal, in the US or Rest of EU it is not.....

for the *honey* experiment, you actually put too much honey in the bowl. if it was just a thin layer at the bottom (where the liquid looks light) it would have shown better. i actually love watching honey mix in at the bottom of my cup for this exact reason. the hexagon shapes are real. 👍
The wax in the apple is natural, no one puts it in or something lol edit: jesus frickin christ, it's been a year and people still see this comment? What.
it's a combination apples - especially ones sold loose instead of pre-packed - are often sprayed with carnauba wax (which is perfectly edible) in order to make the fruit look shiny and therefore more enticing to a customer
I stand by this. I live close to apple and pear producers (idk what to call them? Apple farmers?) and I've worked there for a while too and besides pesticides, not much goes on the trees.
They do put something to make the fruit look more shiny and appealing at the stores but it washes off with just water. That’s why it’s important to wash the fruit before you eat it
Um its a pigment within the apples outer layer (skin) the pigment gives the apple its colour. By pouring hot water cellular walls of the outer layer has been ruptured causing this pigment to easly secret from the apple.

For those who jave never picked an apple from a tree. Some fruits, specially the ones with thin skin protect themselves with a wax-like layer. Remember that the fruit is meant to protect the seed inside
eljefe1989 Most store bought apples are coated with carnauba or shellac wax . You can tell the difference if you’ve ever picked an apple off a tree and had bought some at the store .
Apples produce their own natural wax (yes, some companies do add more synthetic food grade wax which is perfectly safe for consumption). The spots are the pigment draining from the apple's skin after the natural wax was removed. :)
okay so the wax that “formed” on the apple is a natural wax since certain fruits contain natural latex and wax. why do i know this? my orchestra teacher is severely allergic to these latexes and can’t have fruit.
Apples have their own wawy layer but they're usually spread with an edible wax to make them shinier and more appealing to eat. Like making a cake look nice after it comes out of the oven
For anyone wondering why the apple was "bleeding", heres why. Basically when he poured the boiling water on to the apple, a chemical reaction took place called "redfallish". The reason this happens is because of the molecular imbalance inside of apple skin becoming so hot that evaporation starts occuring within the peel itself. The water starts the process of condensation (like the drops of water outside of a cold bottle on a hot day) and it drags the color out of the peel with the condensation. By the way, i made all that up and have no clue what im talking about.
2:05 you shouldn't be, that's most likely a extremely thin coating of beeswax absolutely harmless. its applied to keep the apple from drying out and keeping it fresh.
@@stinkery on Apples right from the tree, yes. not so much on store-bought ones, they get through a thorough washing which mostly destroyed the natural layer of wax. that of course is dependent on farmer, region and so on. when the natural layer of wax is gone cause of the process a new one is applied which is beeswax or another, edible protection
Wax is produced naturally but sometimes stores do add additional food-grade wax onto some foods such as cucumbers for appearance or onto swede and turnips for extended shelf life

I’m really confused at what life hack channel just told him opening a can with a CAN OPENER is a life hack EDIT: Holy crap I just wrote this because I thought it was dumb but wow. Now that’s a lot of likes, also yes open can sideways it’s not like it’s gonna spill whatever your opening 😑
There’s no joke, most people use the can opener on the top or lid of the can (like you should) . However the “life hack” uses the can opener to open the can from the side
I use a can opener. And I open it feom the side, but mine does not become a murder weapon. I actually have the pampered chef can opener that basically unsealed the lid of the can, making both the removed part and the can safe to the touch :)
The apple looked like it was bleeding because that “wax” was it’s protective layer and the moisture in the air would of reacted to the apple :) EDIT: thanks for the likes I will reply to all your comments when I get time :)
The honey experiment was done incorrectly. the bowl was too deep. you need something flatter, more like a plate. if that doesnt work, then you got ripped off for 100% honey.
FMN: you know lets buy an apple *few hours later* FMN: Hmmm lets pour boiling water on it *few minutes later* FMN: ok wax i gone mission complete *few hours later* Apple: Ahhhh!! My skin *bleeds*
I dont know. I was exploring youtube and found this random video of this guy's channel. He looks like an emo peter parker and i like his content. Im gonna keep watching his videos and might consider subscribing. It is nice to watch stuffs like this once in a while aside from minecraft.
Okay, before you read this, just know that I'm just guessing as to what happened to the apple. All fruits, including apples, have sugar in them. I have no idea what type of apple you bought, so I don't know if it tends to have more sugar than others. Either way, whenever I would stumble upon a rotten apple at the bottom of the fruit bag, it would usually leave this sticky sap-like liquid all over the place, and it was basically just pure sugar that had spilled out of the rotted fruit. I think what happened with yours was that the hot water may have either: 1. Melted the sugars, leaving them to seep out of the exposed skin, or 2. Drawn out the sugars and left openings big enough for them to escape into the open air. Again, those were just my silly theories, so if anyone has the full answer, please let me know!
When you poured the boiling water on the apple, it tried to absorb it, burning the inside, which eventually made the pores of the fruit swell and seep out the "Blood" AKA apple juice
The wax is actually a natural layer. That “blood” is the apple reforming that layer. Edit: um well I did not think this would blow up so much. I really just pulled that out of my ass and had no idea what the hell I was talking about.
Soo, for the honey experiment, ypu are meant to use a plate with a tiny blob of honey and a few drops of water. Trust me. It works. A lot of people where I am from use that trick to find out if the honey is real. Honey has cells that memorize the places that they where in, thus with H²O and agetation they can return in a mild honeycomb or wave pattern.
Honey cells dont "remember" where they've been or are from... honey cells arent living cells.. otherwise it would make a flower shape cause honey is regurgitated nectar from flowers. Theres also no genetic memory in honey cause honey doesn't have genes...
