So for the 1st Time in my life I burnt yesterday! I have never worn sunscreen ever and I am ashamed to admit that because I am so old I was so ignorant about my skin thinking because I am on the darker side I didn't need it but it was so painful! I will never go out without it again even if it's just a tank top. Here to learn 💛
I’ve just come to the conclusion that, for now, there really isn’t a seamless mineral sunscreen for us deeper skin toned folks lol. I use Cotz Flawless Complexion but it can get greasy upon second application and there’s a slight cast. However, it’s literally the best I can find for now.
Hi funny how I have just published a video on my channel reviewing Cotz flawless complexion, face and prime and the sensitive suncreen. My conclusions were the same. Thankfully I had already seen review of Black women applying the proper amount of pipette and supergoop sunscreen so I did not waste my money on it. My conclusions after watching tones of videos of other black women is that Cotz complexion and Cotz sensitive sunscreens are the only invisible sunscreen one on deep skin tones. When it comes to the finish it will depend on each person skin type. And I agree they are definitely best for dry or normal skin type. Thanks to you I won't waste my money on the other ones either...
Amazing review! I appreciate you giving some of the products a chance by applying them on with and without your moisturizer. I also loved that you included the sunscreens description and how the cream felt on your skin. Being that you & I both share the same complexion this video was very helpful & I enjoy it a lot. Thank you.
9:54 fragrance free doesn't meant it doesn't have a smell. It just means no fragrance was added. Neem oil is fragrance free but smells horrible for example
Adding these much needed notes to my sunscreen journal. I feel like we're sisters in this mineral sunscreen struggle. I reallly want to like the flawless complexion one but its sticky and greasy on my combo skin. I'll probably try again in the winter. Cotz has a face moisture version as well that I haven't seen too many reviews on but I may try to see what the deal is with that one.
Love your personality and genuine review! On my way to find a mineral sunscreen with a natural, comfortable finish and minimal cast. Funny how Cocokind is even marketed to be moisturizing... It's not that surprising that it's drying though, since zinc is an oil-controlling ingredient. I've tried the Korean Suntique mineral sunscreen and it's so, so drying as well; what's worse is it doesn't even wash off! When I rinse in the shower I can literally see my feet turn purplish grey ... I quite like the Supergoop mineral sheer screen though; it feels and smells so similar to the Purito comfy water and could be a good alternative, but agreed the cast might be an issue for deeper skin tones
I'm glad you've found something that works for you! Supergoop mineral was not it for me lol Suntique sounds like it would make me breakout since it doesn't completely wash off. My sensitive skin would be crying 😂
I loved this video, such an eye opener on what mineral sunscreens really look like on deeper skin tones. It almost feels like tinting the sunscreen doesn’t really do much to mask the white cast. I’m wondering if u were ever able to find a mineral sunscreen that works well on ur skin other than the cotz, would love to know 😊
Yeah it's frustrating because you have to have the "perfect" tint most times for tinted sunscreens. I've been liking the bergen dermatology sheer joy for the winter. I have a full review on my channel 😊 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8MR_RNFmzis.html
How the heck do they market these as no cast and there's a cast?! Ridiculous. Also, I'm super pale and I get frustrated when face product lines don't have a shade light enough for me. I know finding a shade that's dark enough for deeper skins tones happens way more often. I can't imagine how limiting this must feel :(
I wore pipette and the few times I didn’t have a white cast I was burnt so I was too light handed lol that sunscreen is really overhyped in our community, the price is good though I was almost tempted to buy the cotz
I know this is a year late but I just for the Supergoop Mineral Mattescreen. It is truly matte. It is slightly tinted and I don’t get a cast. The downside is the cost at $38.
unfortunately you probably won’t find a mineral sunscreen with no white cast. im pale af and just use chemical sunscreens because i don’t need to look any more corpse like!
Please have you used Rich Skxn clear mineral sunscreen?. Is black owned company. I just bought and it has zero white cast!. I mean no cast at all and i am dark skinned tone. I am just surprised and wondering if is really a mineral sunscreen. Believe me i have tested alot and is my first time seeing this one without white cast and only £16.99 😮
