Great video. I’m curious why you’re using orchid bark, as opposed to coco chip or something like that? I’m in the US, where coco is generally the substrate of choice for snakes that need higher humidity. I obviously don’t have a Boelen’s, but very much want one someday. I grow orchids, so I’m curious about the bark vs. coco question. Also, thanks for the update, it’s great to see these guys thriving ❤
It was recommended to me, I do have coco husk but not the chips, I will take a look but so far the orchid bark is working for me and looks great. They look quite camouflaged with it.
Hi, thanks for a great video. I just wanted to find out about the sample, did you just wait for the snake to go and then sent the sample off on the same day or was it refrigerated as I see you had it in a bag. Trouble is as you know it can be a long wait for a snake to pass a poo sample. Thanks
The email they send gives you information on this, it was in a bag but it was done earlier that day and I took it out and bagged it knowing the kit was in the post so I didn’t need to refrigerate. A good plan is to get the kit and then play the waiting game so it is nice and fresh.
