Testing my old Go Pro Hero3+ in a tidal creek.

Just had a week's holiday in Cornwall.
Tested out my old Go pro Hero 3+ in the cove/tidal creek area at 'St Anthony-In-Meneage' which isn't far from the Helford River, Cornwall.
Since I was using an extended walking pole as a camera mount and I didn't fancy paddling, I could only get about three feet out from the shoreline. The speed of the incoming tide is impressive and the force on the pole from the current meant it was an upper body workout to try and keep it stationary. Next time I'll make a remote, hardwired submersible to get further out but only between tides.
You might spot some glass-like shrimp, small fish and some larger in the background.
Not a bad camera for its age and it seems to produce a better image quality underwater than it does on dry land.

Really enjoyed that, Andrew. Amazing what you can see with that setup - so much life down there! Hope you’ve had a good break.

Thanks, yes - a good break despite the weather at the end of the week. The Go Pro 3 seems to produce a better image underwater than it does on dry land. For next year I'm going to try a longer pole setup or try to assemble an ROV.

camera still holds on quite well i would say, no need for an upgrade yet. I would look at some filters though for underwater stuff if you think of making more of this kind of footage, some red or crimson which really bring out the colours down there. 😀🐸🐠🐡🦈🐙

I'll have a look for filters on Amazon. In the meantime I'm going to work on a longer, lighter pole setup and maybe an ROV for next year. Our local lakes are equally full of life as the creek in the video and one of them is forty feet deep.
