It's been a while. Social media was annoying me, then caught a dose of the covid just before Christmas (managed to avoid it for three years until now), work committments and very cold weather in a garage with no heating has meant the Rover resto has been delayed...luckily this is just a hobby for me.
Anyway...
In this catchily titled episode, I advise of the importance of ensuring any inner panels such as sill/rocker closing panels and inner wheelarch and wheelwell repairs are carried out accurately because the accuracy of the outer panels depend on the inner repairs.
My attempt at fabricating the closing panel and inner arch were almost there but weren't quite right. This resulted in the lower quarter panel sitting too far out at the arch which then meant it flared out instead of forming a straight bodyline with the existing sill. This is why car repairs take time. Lots of positioning, removing, trimming stuff to ensure new panels fit before final welding.
