as far as I could remember - the earliest memories of my life were of my dad returning from his run when we woke up. He inspired me to run. So when I picked up running I could only do small distances compared to him . He would be returning from his run when was approaching half way of my course . Upon seeing me pushing hard- he would always raise his hand and give me a high five. It'd happen everyday. That is one of the fondest memory of my early childhood. Congratulations Goran on your fatherhood.

I'm a dad of five year old twins and beginner triathlete. Also find it hard to fit in training around family life/work, but it gets easier as they get older. It's definitely worth the effort, as you have to be fit just to keep up with them! Exercise helps you to cope with the stress of minding them too!

Your videos are very motivating. Yesterday I ran 5 kilometers through the forest. For the first time in 20 years (I'm 40 now). It was a little difficult, but the fresh air, the leaves coming from the trees, the autumn sun - it was wonderful. That's life. Thank you!

Was amazing just being with you on the track!! You are great at motivating👍 Last two years have been pretty bad for me, two surgeries and covid at least four times! Leaving a patch in my lungs. I have got back to running (very slow, run, walk!) and I am participating in a 10k next month🤞 🤗Your videos really help🤗

as a young father too whose max speed is around barely sub 4m/km (over 1 km mind you), it's incredible to see the speed this young lad in front of you is doing considering you are already doing a 3:15/km, he must be around 2:45/km even maybe less. My father was a 3min/km runner in XC and it was simply incredible to see him run. When i was of age to run, i was never able to keep up, in fact i have never been able to beat him until he was too old to run, but i cherish all those moments i had cycling with him when he was running!! Do the same with your kids, take them with you, they will cherish it forever!!

I've been losing motivation getting into running over the summer and haven't really trained that much or took any of my runs very seriously as well as running super slow and super short, after seeing this race though I'm really back into running mode where I want to train to beat my mile pr of 5:26 minutes and finally break 5 minutes once and for all, and than maybe even running a sub 17 minute 5k myself. That's amazing time for not have trained very much and only light 10 minute runs for those 2 years, and congrats on your wife and kids :D

Hi Göran! This question is maybe a bit outside the scope of this video, but you're the only orienteering youtuber I know of. What kind of training would you recommend to become a faster orienteerer? I have no issue running fairly fast and long on the road, but I tire quite fast when I get into the terrain. Would I benifit by focusing more on threshold to move my lactate threshold? Regards

Your videos are great. I, run at 5:00 before work or with the running buggy sometimes after becoming a dad. Some shorter distances ussualy then before. It's maybe not ideal. Better then nothing. Important to prioritize your family and stay in shape the same time.

Great job! And how did you get that drone shot during the race? In two weeks I'm going to run my first race in 12 years on the course where I set my 10km PB (41:21). There's no way I'm getting close to that, but I have been training to go below 45 minutes. Hoping to help a friend go below that too!

I wondered the exact same as it's something I would like to do too with my own races 😄 My guess is that it was filmed either before or after the race as it would be so hard to do meanwhile without a proper team. Also his shadow in the drone shots vs cloudy sky in the race could support this theory but I'm sure Göran can correct me if I'm wrong 😄

I think some drones can be programmed to follow you. Some other RU-vid runners do it round a track and you can tell the drone is correcting around bends.
