In this video my friend Ron and myself head into new areas in the search for the chunkier gold nuggets. Testing new ground is crucial to finding good gold deposits.
Unlike the prospectors of old we have the added advantage of being able to snipe gold underwater which in our experience has been a much more successful way to find gold and track its source or the areas that hold bigger gold deposits.

@@officialtassieboysprospecting Can you not answer simple questions? What is the percentage of Gold in the alloyed samples you are finding ... or is it not sexy enough to admit to the 24k people who watched this video that "oh, by the way, the gold is not pure" so drop some of the yields you have seen on the scales by as much as 50% - because when it is time to sell it you will only get what it is worth and that is not based upon what it weighs (rolling eyes). I have asked this 3 times now and been ignored (fucking prick).

Nothing like seeing if "it clunks" with your mate Ron..how good was that as a viewer watching what you were doing and then wondering how he was doing on that same stretch of river 😲 ...as always Levi, an insanely entertaining upload...the time you put in to capture every piece you actually capture...and your mission to get to it makes me forever grateful...even if it means your tally may be shortened by the daylight you use up whilst doing it..keep it coming bro...so good :)

Nice work Levi. Always good to find some nice gold in a new location. We used to have a fair few black cockatoos here years ago even white cockies... but last decade or so I have only really see correllas and they are almost as noisy, but evey bit as distructive. Hope you return there and unlock that rivers secrets and find the bigger gold, or some pockets like the river of records. Has alot of potential thats for sure. Good Luck & Happy Sniping mate.

I've been watching some of your videos in fb the last week or so and I love this type of gold prospecting, it looks like you get some great reward for your time. Do you do this as a hobby? Do you keep all the gold or do you sell it? Unfortunately lockdown 5.0 here in Melbourne, I wish we had the borders like down in Tassie and no international arrivals. I sure dont envy you in the freezing cold water though!

Levi, great job on the close ups with the hand held camera! I noticed a weight belt at 13:11. Dragging that (and a rake?) through the bush is way more work than the rock filled belt I suggested. Team work is great especially when you need to move large boulders or deep overburden. 112 degrees in the gold country here this weekend!

Epic video yet again. The Tassie scenery is one of the heroes too. I've wondered if much gold accumulates at the tail of deeper pools? Have you ever had a go in some deeper water? Thanks for the adventures!

It may sound silly but it could be worthwhile to bring a small wire brush to clean out those areas of clay. I’d be willing to wager there’s a fair amount of gold hidden by the clay and if you give it a good scrub and fan you might find more. Also, your horizontal reminds me of alders here in Alaska, sometimes a nightmare to try and hike through. Love the videos, and especially The Return for Stannards Grave.
