I was an f18 tech and inspector in the marine corps, and also worked as a contractor doing just phase inspections on f18s. The phase inspections are no joke and we stripped the jets down to the bones inspecting every single inch of the aircraft. Seeing a bit of the helicopter phase inspection was super enjoyable! Thank you!

Helo phases are very similar to fixed wing except I don't believe you guys pull the wing boxes. I only did two phases with my unit but they really are great for learning everything about your airframe for new maintainers since everything is being pulled.

That drone pilot has some serious skills. Holy crap!! In order to get true visual appeal you need to instinctively know the possibility, pace, and flow of basically every angle when you’re filming an object on the move in the air like that. He has that instinct. Very obvious. Keep that dude as a resource for sure. Nice work and one KILLER helicopter. Legendary. 👍🏻😎👍🏻

Hi ! Fantastic footage !!! I am a vet that has a special request … I am sure you have many requests … but this one is special … I have a friend of mine that I went through basic training with back in 1986 … he is a decorated war veteran of the rank of command sergeant major …. He will have served 30+ years on the day of his retirement.. he is based out of Aberdeen MD and his last wish is to be brought from his place of duty in Aberdeen to his house in York Pa by a black hawk … I know it is a really big request .. or wish .. but he has given many years , blood sweat and tears for this country. Would y’all be interested in making this flight for a retiring Command Sergeant Major If logistically possible ?

Love that you are in a hawk! I had 5 years wiggling the H60 sticks and I miss it everyday! Some nice camera angles in the video. You may not ever read this comment, but I just saw the clip at 14:25 and I saw someone run out from under the rotor disk at a 45 from the nose. Dude- just remind your people how dangerous that is due to the forward tilt of the rotor disk. Make sure everyone is coming in and exiting on a 90 degree path to the cabin doors. During one of our Army trainings, I saw a safety video of a Navy Lt who walked out from under the rotor disk at the same angle and he literally lost his head. Safety always! I'd hate for anyone to get hurt/killed by this amazing bird!

Love the Blackhawk! My personal history goes back to '79 at Ft Campbell, KY. My unit was changing over from UH-1H to the UH-60 then. My company was the 2d one to get them. I think the ratio was to trade in 22 UH-1's for 15 UH-60's. The Blackhawk was a very impressive move up in load, speed, and range from the UH-1. It was full of "crash worthy" features. I would take exception with one remark you made to airspeed. If you find yourself doing 200mph in the 'hawk, don't make ANY sudden move on the cyclic. A low-level showoff was doing about that pace in Landstuhl, Germany many years ago and turned his bird into a very messy plow. A phenomenon called "retreating blade stall" took control from the pilot and inverted the bird. I think the practical Vmax is now around 180 mph. I may be off on the figures, but 222 mph is the Vne (Velocity NEVER exceed) noted in Wikipedia. Getting over 200 is risky business. I'm still a major fan of the old Huey. They still train in them here at Ft. Novosel, AL

I did a 6 month detachment to Naval Air Station Norfolk when I was in the USN and they had a maintenance hangar that was mind blowing. Seeing an F-14 Tomcat stripped down to the frame is something you don't see often. And of course, the only helicopter I have ever been on, the Sikorsky SH-3 Sea King. This was our primary ASW/SAR and lifter when I was on the USS Theodore Roosevelt. I was on the Forward Away Team which we sent ahead of a port-of-call to get the fleet landing set up with the local governments, whoever it may be. We would throw our seabag into the Sea King and it would take us wherever we were heading. I remember sitting on a canvas fold out seat squished between the sonarbuoy dispenser and the radio for hours with no view of the outside. Very disconcerting. Also very exciting for a 19 year old punk just out of high school learning how the world works. Would not trade one minute of those "miserable" conditions. Made me appreciate the comforts of life even more

Dang you guys are such an inspiration to me!! I hope to find something that I can be extremely passionate about one day. If I could take that passion and experience a fraction of your success, it would be a life well lived. Congratulations

You guys are putting out some great content. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us! You weren't by change flying low around the Murcur mining area recently, were you? We were out running trails and checking out the mines and saw what looked like a Blackhawk come through a couple times. Pretty much made the whole trip!

So interesting, the Blackhawk is a complex machine. I love the Tec even though I don't fully understand how it stays up , I'm in Awe. The drone footage, wow. Thanks Dave and team
