I packed up the bike and put the fuel on top to check out handling. I wont be running it this way, it was a little to top heavy. I will pack smaller Jerry cans in the panniers. And I will put the cloths and some food on top.
When the engine is chugging along like the first half of the video it means you are in too high of a gear try opening up the throttle a little more and letting it rev bike becomes way more responsive
What top and side cases do you have there? I've found most of the "ammo can" styles look bad on the Gen2's, so been looking for something like you have. Whatever you have there looks really good.
Yes, they started to stretch just sitting on it. I have replaced most of the load bearing bolts on the bike. I also totally re-engineered the rear rack. That also is absolute crap as stock. There is a few videos on the channel about all this. I wont be running the fuel up on top. Its just to hard to handle in the sand. And the planned trip will have sand. I will run the fuel lower down in the panniers. This is the way I normally do it, i just thought I would try it on the top.
I wore them out, they were R-Jays from memory. Not expensive, but full gloves with the wrist protection. They are a bit hot for most of my riding so I now have different ones that have more air flow.
