I am not a watchmaker or even hobbyist, but somehow I've landed on watching your videos that I find so satisfying. Your wry sense of humor and humility are a much needed respite from the negativity that we are bombarded with 24/7 by the regular media. Much love to you and your family.
I feel like wearing one of those with an all-white suit, shirt, tie, shoes, and socks would make you look like a Bond villain. Add a Panama hat and you’d look like a pimp. It’s perfect: taking-over-the-world vibes during the week, and party-time on the weekends. Win-win!
😂😂😂Thanks for your humorous commentary! 😂 I always look forward to seeing a new video from you laughing hilariously at your comedy voice over speaking to your self 😂😂😂😂and Trouble coming in to "help" you 😂😂😂 Really appreciate your time and effort in bringing to us these videos of watch restoration/repair or review.👍👍👍👍👍 Nice to have free entertainment too with Nekkid Watch comedy 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Keep up the great work!
The greenwashing not withstanding, this would be the type of accessory one could wear when taking out their Mitsuoka Le-Seyde for a spin in the Soho area on a warm summer's evening. An overweight late middle aged white man with a comb over and short pant Safari suit with white socks and sandals (to complete the picture) would be the natural home for this award winning masterpiece of horology.
Watchmaker says that reading the time doesn't matter. OMG. They suggest spending USD1,5K and having troubles to understand what time is it now. Are they kidding?
4:24 It just means the watch won't combust into flames when a Balrog of Morgoth keeps his breath under 1800°c. I imagine Gandalf the white was provided with this watch after his encounter with Durin's bane.
I am a ceramicist / sculptor , specializing in figurative ceramics . While I use high fired materials I’ve never fired as high as the numbers in Celsius you mention , normally firing my kiln only as high as 1240c , or if using porcelain which fires to 1300c and is I’m sure you know is a very hard , but brittle , pure translucent white naturally but can be coloured with metallic salts and glazes . Ceramics arent typically fired over 1300c which is a high temperature for ceramics. The new ceramic materials however I assume are more newly developed , space age , industrial types which have been created to cope with such extreme high and low variations in temperature . They would be incredibly hard and durable and capable of withstanding far more than other materials . Hence the beginning of it in industry and using ceramic bearings, often being used as the bearings in racing bikes . It’s not much I know but it’s a different area of hi tech ceramics and science to my own area of expertise in the arts , but I hope it helps in a small way .the fact it’s used in watch design is amazing . It would be fascinating to learn how it is crafted
Ahhhhhh😂. When you know you know! When you don't you don't! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 The feeling is the same to a tesla...... Where is is the beauty to behold 👀👀🙄but sales high 😅 go figure 😂
A watch my sister might like. She always liked big watches. When she was a child, she had a men's size watch mounted on a wide leather strap. My mother constantly gave her grief about it, calling it a 'well driller's watch' ;)
I absolutely love this watch with the ceramic band. I am a lady, and for the first time, I like the world timer. Do you know if it comes in multiple sizes?
I got goosebumps as you where reading 😮 wow!You have so many talents and doing reviews is one of them❤Amazing watch and none can do it justice as you sir👏👏
Bloody hell, mate. You should really do some narration work on documentaries and such, and maybe audio books. I know, I know, your time is best spent restoring watches, but your warm voice reminds me of the actor who spoke the words of environmentalis John Muir on Ken Burn's documentary on America's national parks; his name is Lee Stetson.
interesting, but ultimately, no. my daily driver is a stainless with a mostly sterile AF black dial with blue lumen chrome outline indices, and matching hands. very little in the way of markings, and nothing over the top. subtle, classy, useful.
Nice sell Joe...Now Ciga send one too all the Nekkid ladies and hell, one for trouble also...Personally I do not like the watch, but Mr. Joe has made sales climb, aint he, the man could sell Ice to eskimo's I should know as I bought some...:)
Great work! I would prefer the deep blue model with silver case and avoid the metrosexual one for sure. It should however have a choice on which side of the planet is exhibited.....
Ceramic case and bracelet feels good un wrist. A watch case made from stone would be cool. Agate, Onyx, Basalt, Quartz, Jade etc. It would be heavy, but unique.
Lovely piece of design, love the ceramic case, to me, the whole thing is a conceptual watch... Nice vid my friend... Gretings from Cancún, México, Earth....
That one is def the best version yet! It looks best on ur daughter and wifey granted, but not bad on you either. I would really consider buying and wearing one but it would be destroyed in a week on my wrist like that feller who bashed his seiko. Unfortunately through no fault of my own, due to my professsion and day to day things i do. This is why i only wear g-shock cause i havent killed one yet surprisingly....i know right?? Thanks for sharing Joe, that truly is a beautiful watch! P.S. we both know who's gonna end up with it...hint..not u lol
Part of me wants to be slightly sarcastic... however. It really is a beautiful thing, and whoever receives one will certainly love it. Thanks again and stay well.
A delightfully calm & measured explanation coupled with down to earth sympathy for the subject & project. A beautiful looking watch (probably ) not everyones taste except those who love finesse. The 4 star Point compass obviously indicating the hour & the minutes instantly read off, unusual but practical & I guess easily adapted to. A pleasant little diversion on a rainy day. Thankyou. { p.s. Your Main Photo Logo shows part of a black dial that is almost identical to an Eternamatic Chronometer I have, with same design of batons, h&m sword style hands.} It occurs to me that Mfg' try to avoid 'copycat' designs yet I'm surprised by the striking similarity, but nere'the less Ta, once again.
I was laughing so hard in the beginning I tooted lol. I’m not ashamed lol Go on then (said like Joe) I hope someday to get such a stunning watch. My stepson in metrosexual lol. So handsome 😂
Truly beautiful watch. I think they should extend the line and make watches for the other planets (or moons) in our solar system... Our moon would be gorgeous... Or Mars. Or the stunning moons of JUpiter & Saturn...
1:44 I just shake my head at the silly notion that skin cancer and trimming one’s nails is macho! This watch looks awesome with a dark blue sportcoat and light blue dress shirt cuff.
Hi there....follow all your vids and get great pleasure from your banter....just checking in and asking is all ok, haven't heard from yourself 4 a bit👍...I've done circa 35 years in the game but recently I had a stroke...bummer!!..so you and your staff (trouble), keep em common...
For a video that could be fun & different. how about a watch from scratch!!. Say your views could choose from 3 cases then say 3 movements dials, hands & so on like a Seiko mod but from your followers choice. could do this over a short series. I cant say iv seen this done on youtube i maybe wrong!!!
Also, is that enamel going to be chipped when you bump a wall? And is the enamel repairable?? Or are you stuck trying To fill in chips with white paint??
@@NekkidWatchmaker OK. I guess I need to google the difference between ceramic and enamel. But that aside, how do you feel about chip-proofness?? Want to give it a whack?
Joe I really have no idea what you’re saying about the current politics, so I have no idea if I agree with you … but maybe I don’t need to? You reveal yourself as a caring person, and frankly, your kids tell the rest of the story. So carry on and thanks for the video. Fun watch! I’m a giant dude and I’d wear it.
Problem for me is... The main problem.. In my language, CIGA is a slang for a cigarette. In my minds eye, ciga design evokes a big, construction type guy with a cigarette in the corner of his mouth sying stuff like "Oi gov'nr, ho' bout we put some, ya kno', like white on it? Like, ya kno', an Iceberg like. That'll really like put about some contrast, like, on all them gold nuggins, like. Ey?"
Where can we ask you advice on where to send an ORIS for service and repair? We've tried jewellers where it was bought and a recommended repairer , both times it came back worse. We are based in Scotland.
This would be great with the Antarctic map on the face. If CIGA design multiple interchangeable faces you can pick from they will do a lot better. Great video though!
1800 degrees? That is the melting point of aluminum. Well beyuond what the human body can withstand! So, if the watch is in a fire, it will likely survive, but the wearer?
Sir , if possible kindly repair my father's Ricoh day date watch . It's memorable watch for me after father's death . I will pay all from and to courier charges .
