It takes a little bit to get used to driving one after driving a normal tractor style, but once you've got it, you've got it. If you're cutting lines, you have to be careful spinning the mower around or the back tire will dig a bare spot. Just take it nice and slow during the turn and then it's back to full throttle across the yard!
I'm 64 and still working just as hard as ever but remember there's quite a few that didn't make it to 60 enjoy the time that you have the exercise helps tremendously plus keep your mind flexible I'll never stop
Yeah unfortunately we lost a million to covid and another 3 or 4 million retired usally higher pay workers so there's way more competition for workers we have had to low birth rate to offset retirement for decades and covid just Jumpstarted the prob being down to 5 percent unemployment is good and a bad thing
After turning 60 this year, I don't have any intention of retirement til at least 70. This pathetic younger generation of people are so lazy. They have been spoiled rotten, and computers have just compounded the problem. This great country will never survive another 20 years.
That 4000 HDX with MyRide is a beast. Quality of build is definitely there. You failed to mention the front caster arms are like I-beams. Definitely more stout than square tubing. Built to withstand the abuse that the casters take. Cut quality seems superb with one pass. Toro has the Turbo Force decks dialed in right. Great video, Stan. I've been using Toro ZTR for 19 years. Small residential models. I haven't had the first issue. Used the first one for 14 years and decided I wanted a new mower. Sold the old one and it's still going strong. I used both to mow and push snow. They just keep going.
Stan mower cuts nice but is new most mowers do price in range with other mowers. As for helping out the owner of gas station great thing you did for him. True can't get help anymore working more hours. I had a guy quit after 20 plus years but the great leader Brandon says gas station owners are making huge profits he is so out of the loop how businesses really operate and slim margins but that's what you get when he never had a real job politician all his life stealing off the tax payers
Stan, that is a nice mower and I would be inclined to buy one of i had a large lot to cut but with that being said I have always been a proponent of cutting twice to make the yard look nice. It seems like if the grass is too wet or too tall you would see too many stragglers to go over it once
As a biker I respect that you keep the clippings toward the center of your work space. I have seen bikers go down hitting grass clippings on the road...Thank You....

Against the law in Pa. to blow any clippings on a road made law especially made for motorcycles. Even if you don't have a law use common respect and courtesy do not blow clippings on road. (looks bad too)
I'm 66 and STiLL going even tough I suffer from a brain injury from being hit by a 19-year-old in the rear of my old low-seat back F-150 and my head knocked out my back window, 12 years ago. Everything had slowed for me but I had done concrete bench production but stopped that as my back got worse. I still mow my own one-acre yard along with trimming shrubs, growing a garden, painting my house, and fixing my cars and trucks. Again it takes me longer because I have to take breaks all the time but I STILL WORK! NEVER RETIRE!! YOU WILL ROT and DIE FROM THE INSIDE!

Had back surgery ordered a toro with myride I can actually mow with it without hurting worse than I already do my friend mowed with it he bought himself a titan with the myride but if I was able to mow for a living I would spec out a bad boy mower

Have you tried the Ferris mowers? They’ve had suspension on zero turns for years-like a Cadillac. My local gravely dealer just started carrying Ferris. I’m almost at a place where I can buy a new mower
Ali has always been the nicest guy. Have been going to that BP for years and he always greets me with “Her buddy! How’re you my friend?” Always manages to brighten my day when I stop there. He never fails to ask if I want a free donut either lol.
My Gravely has the air ride suspension seat also. If this Toro is better then that. That's very impressive! Going to have to test this mower out for sure! Also its always good to help out friends. Glad to see you helping your friend Stan!

I wish my zmaster 4000 cut that good i have the 52 deck after 1 year and 150 hours my electric deck lift seized up but the myride is great an so are the voodoo tires if you look at the tread lugs there little microscopic slices through the whole tire that stop turf tear
I miss having a large lawn, I no longer get to cut my own grass or have the equipment to do it with ,after moving how odd I use to bitch about it, but really I just now miss doing it myself.
Ran Toro for 6 years on the golf course, sold and repaired them for 2 years and now have used them exclusively in my business for 4 years. Hands down the best mower out there. Go to a professional sports field. Look what they mow with. Its either Toro or deere. Wish theyd send me one out to do a video on!

I bought this exact mower in May of this year. Was a challenge actually getting it, but I couldn't be happier with the mower. I have cut some waist high damp stuff and this thing blew right thru it. The ride is incredible. Spendy, but a good investment bang for the buck. The electric deck height on the hand grip is way more handy than I ever imagined.

something ive noticed about mower brands. the throttle screws are always set for only about 3/4 open throttle. so in theory that mower has a 31hp motor but its only putting out maybe 25hp
Stan Toro has always strived to build a top level products for residential/commercial use this new machine just shows that still holds true and the seat being the most important factor, if the operator is less fatigued you are more productive, hence work gets done, and i know there is lots of competition out there now and most of the time it comes down to personal choice, not brand loyalty as it use to be, now its more about where someone can get the best deal/financing for a new piece of equipment and don't worry about the quality of the cut or clearing the machine produces whether its Gravely or Toro or some other brand, I started using Ego products some 6/7 years ago and have never looked back and the competitors don't come close to them, and i have used them also and still find Ego the better value and so do you in your reviews, this was a great video and Kudos to you for helping out this business owner that you've dealt with for years, hey a free donut goes a long ways 👍
I have the same mower with a 52" deck. I love it. Stan isn't kidding about how the tires grip. It handles a steep ditch bank easily that my older Toro always slides down. And the Myride platform is so nice. The power deck I could take or leave, seems like it might be trouble down the road. Overall I love mine, the 31hp Kawasaki is a monster and fairly quiet.

I think Toro now owns Spartan. I wonder how they will market it since they now own -> Spartan - Exmark - Toro How’s the Spartan ride?… since it has a suspension
@@stepside2839 That makes sense, i noticed they have some of the same specs. I don't have all the electronic deck controls, its a manual dial plus foot pedal. It doesn't have a suspension, but since it has radial tires you can run them at a lower pressure to help the ride and with traction. It's nice and wide with a low center of gravity so it's pretty good on hills. It's a RZ HD, so it's residential with some commercial features. It was last years model so it was $600 cheaper
@@donjuan1212 thanks for the reply I read that the big commercial Spartan Z-turns have the same/similar ‘rubber type’ suspension that Bad Boy has. The guy that stared Spartan was one of the founders of Bad Boy.
On the leaf blower it would be nice if it would blow straight forward. It would be a nice option. On the big mow it looked like it did a good job. Can you put X blades on that? I switched to X blades this year and I love them.
The KiLLER to ALL mowers here in the US is those FRONT WHEELS being placed IN FRONT of the mower decks. These wheels press down the grass and this grass never gets fully cut so in a day or so when the grass grows you have these high grass lanes that spring up that never got fully cut. I believe it is Australia where the bladed mowers originated they have a mower that the deck extends out FRONT of the wheels so ALL the grass is cut BEFORE the wheels come in contact with it. WHY do WE not produce a mower that does that?? Maybe we can raise enough money to produce one that does and add all the good attributes of the existing ones that we like and works well into it? Any takers??
Hey Stan, another great video! That 10 weeks of summer can produce some mighty nice grass. 😂 I left Miiinnn a soooota and now have 24 weeks of summer! And a ton of grass! Good deed and good job mowing. But I did see some paper shredding. Did you walk the lot prior to cutting. I always walk the lot with a picker stick and bucket to get those paper bombs prior to mowing. Beats dragging out a rake to get the shreds. Thanks, you sold me on the 4000 with electric lift gate!
For me quality of cut on the first pass isn’t really that important because most of my yards require a double cut anyway to disperse/mulch clippings. So no matter what I’m always double cutting to make the yard look as nice as possible. I would be most concerned about power, reliability, and ease of maintenance.

I wouldn’t buy new mower and it’s nothing on toro or anything but they just don’t make them like they used to I bought a old 2005 craftsman LT1000 it’s old but it’s been a workhorse it’s never failed to start and it’s all mechanical I haven’t broken a part on it and it’s done everything and more I’ve pulled about a 500 lbs of rock up a hill no issues and I’m not exaggerating I’ve moved a tree and a wood stove aswell and it does it with ease and it’s earned it’s keep some say the Briggs intel’s aren’t good I’d say it’s pretty bullet proof
What about the Exmark laser z x series vs toro 6000 series? I think 🤔 toro grandstand is better than the vertex but haven’t tried the zero turns just stand ons. The suspension on the toro is better.
That blower is crazy radical. You good do the whole lot. Probably only in a few passes. So in cutting a commercial account of this size. Definitely have the equipment. $$$$$😮
Stan, Graveley makes a great machine and this MyRide seat is better?! I looked at the 4000 Toro but wasn’t considering MyRide but I will now. How do you know where your height of cut is when using the electric deck? $13k is stout. Those hydros are loud. Good video.
Toro resently purchased Spartan. I don’t see any similarities on this mower from the Spartan line? Except the tires, Spartan & Bad Boy run an aggressive tire. I prefer the aggressive tire on off camber situations. Didn’t Exmark have a version of that My Ride?
It doesn't matter what mower you have. Dandelions and Buckhorn are not easy to cut the first time unless you go really, really slow. I can see some spots this mower did not cut the first time. I can't remember what brand mower it was, but years ago, there was a riding mower that had a deck that would contour with the ground for a perfect cut. I have an old Wheel Horse Work Horse GT 1100 that it's deck dose contour which the ground. I used to mower my yard and ditch with, but for some reason, it acts like it is out of gas when I mower the ditch have not got it working yet. I had get a used Cub Cadet LT 1018, it's OK but the Wheel Horse did a better job. Love the videos keep up the good work, and God bless and stay safe and be kind.
Man that holiday across the street seems to have a lot more customers. Is it always like that? Here in Iowa ( Des Moines) we recently started getting kwik Stars. And rumors are Casey’s & them had agreement they wouldn’t build by each other but then Casey’s broke that and kwik stars went up by them and seem way busier. And at one location there’s a Casey’s, kwik star, and BP, Kwik star is slammed, Casey’s is lucky to have a couple and BP is ghost town. But that’s nice of ya to mow it especially for free. Seems like a nice guy. We use a big diesel John Deere like z997 & buttons on handles are left is raise deck, right is kill mower blades engagement. John Deere is always expensive of course but at work we’d like to try the spartan or even Ferris because we’d like to have most comfortable ride . Seats are great but others have said a few of them have front and rear suspension on a few. That’s a big deal for one of our huge properties that’s bumpier and knots that’s beats the hell out of ya. And it needs rolled or something to try to smooth it out. Lots of guys now it for first time and complain… ha ha try doing it for years. Lol. They don’t build em like that anymore… or the mowers. Lol… like the videos and the tool shows too. Always cool to see people inventing things to make life easier for jobs. Keep at it. 👍🏽

getting staff in the USA is becoming hard, could be the wage and the hours ? working at the gas station, is it a 40 hr week with full benefits or part time ,is the wage a LIVING wage ? or does one have to have another job to make ends meet and if that's not the case is it a 60+ hours a week to make ends meet ? ,I think people are starting to wake up what with all the youtube vids on how everyone else in the world live/work, standard 38-40hrs and no need for a second job. decent wages and plenty of time off, over time if wanted but not compulsory, so its down to the owner, business, bosses to pay a proper wage instead of a slave wage , people have noticed that in the last couple of years business have made a huge profit but the ones working to make it have had the oh dear can you work more and oh by the way can you take a wage drop......answer treat the workers right and business will profit more, wont have to hunt for staff they will be knocking at the door, sorry my little take on how business can't get workers ,in the guys case you said he had a small budget, is that his own business or is he a manager ? if the later then he needs to talk to the higher ups and get a bigger budget ,then look at what he's being paid to do 2/3/ 4 peoples jobs and ask for a raise... normally the case is the business is great, pay is sh*t ,that puts people off.. and I take it you pay your staff a great wage Stanley :) Oh the mower looks good, and that guy who has 2 the look on his face as he sat down was OH YEAH I NEED THIS..
Take it from a 30 year landscape business owner. I've run every type of 0 turn there is. The 4000 series Toro, even with a 35 horsepower motor is not qualified to be Rated as a commercial machthe hydro units are weak. P u l l y assemblies have been Downgraded quality wise in my opinion And visibly cheaper b electric lift for the deck is not quick enough and not What most professionals would like to have as many of us raise the D e c k s quickly and often to go over or avoid obstacles . The hydro units are not strong enough to climb steep hills well. Ride up over curbings even at a slow speed This guy should have used the machine a little more or just Is basically a rookie with not much knowledge or comparison seat time to judge. How good or how bad this machine is okay for a home owner? I guess if you're considering I would opt for at least a 5000 series. Or six thousand series when it comes to the toro . You will get a way better and tougher machine . If you are used to a five thousand or six thousand series , you will be very disappointed in this unit
I have Toro 60 in. 26 HP Titan MAX love it 30 hours I knocked out 3 acres of 4 to 6 foot brush with it only thing broke on it was the tension spring on deck and I put new mulching blades on it I would use it in a commercial application 7500 out the door with tax so far it has been really good mover
Looks good, but probably gonna have 2 go over a 2nd time to blow around the thick clippings it leaving. Which is understandable do 2 the grow and dampness of the lawn....
Cuts no better or worst than my 2012 Grasshopper 61" cut front mount from what I can see on this video. Bring it down to my place and I will let you cut some 3' plus tall fescue grass.
Only thing I don't like about these are the bushings I guess which suspend the deck, I did commercial work, and had to replace them at least 5 times throughout the season, probably should have stuck with the chains like the pz 60. Other than that, pretty good mower. Unless you are cutting strictly residential areas, I would go with zero turns with the chain that suspends deck.
Should have your crews redo his planters (flower beds). Just to make the place look better. If nothing else put a sign in one of them for free advertising
I have been wanting me a toro timecutter with myride cause the mower i have now is a husqvarna riding mower 24v48 that when i get done cutting our 2 acres i am so wore out and can't hardly move cause it makes my back sore was looking for a comfortable mower that want leave our yard in a clumped area that looks like a herd of cows just went through
I would like to see a video on the blower. Try it on grass clippings, leaves and SNOW. I've used a DeWalt leaf blower on snow and it works well in a couple of inches. That Toro blower should do a good job also.
Stan would we ever see any videos of John Deere mowers. We use two John Deere mowers but really never see any mowing company’s use them only like big businesses or for commercial use
I'm 65. Just dug a 4 ft deep 6' x 10' burn pit with a shovel and a wheel barrow. Three days work. Yeah, that much brush I cut last year. Yeah, I hurt. I still power through. Were those thatch blades on that mower even with thatching blades and tall Grass you sometimes have to go over it twice because of the thatch left on the lawn you need to get that blanket a thatch off or it will kill off the lawn or at least put yellow spots all over it but the first cut nice and clean or flat Toro is a very good mower but I understand they're battery operated ones when in run the blade is in running position at all times not a safe feature can you get that blower and a backpack option talk about being a jet propelled backpack right nice equipment for sure
