I think I need that pickle jar! Not for pickles but for pickled onions as I'm growing and pickling my own and trying to stab a floating onion is a nightmare! Even a spoon doesn't always go to plan.

To open hard to open jars, use the butter knife to tap around the top edge/rim of the lid. It'll put slight dents into it and break the seal, allowing it to open MUCH easier. Learned that hack from my Mom when I was little.
@mumofcuties5873
@mumofcuties5873 11 месяцев назад
Another good one is to tap the edge of a jar lid firmly on a hard surface, like a kitchen sink. The seal pops, and the jar is easy to open.

No unused herbs you can chop up and put in butter or oil in ice cube trays and once frozen pop them in a bag in the freezer. Then whenever your cooking eggs or something you just use a cube of herby oil instead of normal oil. Works with garlic and chilli too ❤

My grandma showed me how to open a jar easy. Just get a butter knife and look under the lid, find a gap, put the knife in and twist. Grandmas are the best❤

The banana slicer is used the other way up, so you can use the sides to hold, and it slices to the board.

I have an announcement to you Jasmine and anyone else that at some point have struggled with opening jar lids. Instead of using towel, beating it with spoon or using knives, just buy a jarkey. It is an amazing tool that is as easy as opening a soda can. It pulls the side of the lid a little and releases the pressure and jar opening super easy. Just like a bootle opener but without damaging lid. Perfect as present for any elder in your family, no adult will ever struggle with jars ever again. Had mine for 10+ years. /Much love from Swedish fan of yours

Jazz, you definitely used the banana slicer incorrectly 🤣 you were using it upside down. If you flip it over, it'll cut through the bananas MUCH easier, and it'll cut all the way through so you don't have to push the slices the rest of the way through lol

My jar opening tips. Grab the jar and slightly tap the side of the lid on the counter and wait for a pop. Or you can find the grove and wedge a knife beside that are under the lid wiggle it till you hear the pop. You can also often use a bottle opener (as long as you dont mind damaging the lid. And then there are also jar openers which are very helpful.

I think the banana slicer is upside down. It should be easier to slice them with the flat side against the banana, then it will cut to the bottom and then they sort of sit in the there when you pick it up. Always fun to watch your happiness in the details, big or small.

next time you have a jar like that link your fingers together like you holding your other hand and put the base of each palm on both sides of the lid so its between your hands and then squeeze your hands together..you should hear a pop and then the jar lid will come open easier! Works for most jars like that some are harder than others tho!

just ordered the pickle jar! The Kirkland pickles from Costco are THE best pickles in the world, they're tasty and have the best crunch! But, they come in a HUGE jar that doesn't fit in the fridge. Any pickle lover knows that pickles must be cold to be properly enjoyed... this jar might just solve all my problems! And, to open a stuck lid, stab it with a knife. It pops a hole in the top and then you can open it! (its only really helpful if you don't plan on keeping the contents in the jar... but it works!)
