In this introduction episode, we look at where things stand with the WWF in 1992, the interesting mix of talent on the roster, potential options for the Royal Rumble, and much more. #tew2020 #wwe #totalextremewrestling2020
Haha I mean ideally I’d like a different promotion to book for each day of the week. Only four more to add to the rotation! But yeah, I’m sure there will be burnout at some point. I just like leaning into what interests me at the time since that’ll produce the best videos for you guys. I’m rewatching this era and thought it would be fun. Appreciate you watching as always!
I just went back and started watching Black and Gold NXT. Starting with Neville's first episode as champ. Probably my favorite era watching. I'm sure the hour long episodes have a lot to do with that though lol.@@wrestleblake
OMG, I am so pumped for this! First event I ever watched was the 1991 Royal Rumble (in 2000), it was one of my brothers wrestling tapes, so 1992 is a cool starting point.
That's awesome! Glad you're excited for this series. To watch wrestling on tapes again.....those were the days haha. Appreciate you watching as always!
Would love to see some of the AJPW Pillars come over and not destroy their bodies. As far as roster, Bret and Perfect are 2 of my favorites from this time period. I remember doing the Montreal mod on TEW13 with ECW. I had Bret as my UC and signed Perfect. Those 2 were my main guys. Then I got Brock years later, had a year long undefeated streak and broke Perfect's neck at December to Dismember and basically ended his career. Good times. Really interested to see what you did with this roster!
It's funny you mention AJPW as I was just watching some retrospective stuff on the Four Pillars. There are certainly some interesting ideas to work with there (and some other fun talent in Japan that we may consider). I wish Perfect didn't have the starting injury on this mod because I already have some exciting storyline possibilities with him haha. He was tremendous.
Have to keep the 2hr prime time, that is how you can get stars over with squash matches and promos! and the 1 hr A shows are filmed on the same day, so that should be easy.
Great point! I just booked the first two-hour Prime Time and found it more entertaining than usual for a "B" show. So many good workers on the roster and the one-hour Superstars limits the exposure for them. Thanks for the feedback!
I know I get bogged down with the modern saves, but there are so many shows and segments to book. It's fun when the roster is where it needs to be but not as fun in the early going haha. This is a great setup.
You know I already have my eye on Austin. Just waiting on that contract haha. Also intrigued by adding Douglas to the mix. Thanks as always for watching!
So if this is the Chron 92 mod then yeah this is amazing because it has (off memory) like 12k workers with their accurate debut dates so you can, in theory run from 1992-2022 with accurate workers, promotions, and the like. Consider me a new sub to this here!!!!
So pumped for this series. 92 is when I started watching WWF. Love so many guys but when I play this MOD, there's too many I seem to forget about, they get lost as the Roster is just so full of talent. Will be very interested to see what you do with the likes of Tatanka and Virgil.
Great to hear from you! Hope all is well your way. That will be one of the challenges of this mod is figuring out how to use a lot of the top stars with only an hour of weekly "A" television. But that's also a reason I chose it since it offers a bit more difficulty due to those limitations. Thanks as always for watching!
I've always wanted to get into this mod but it just doesn't click with my brain, it's the era before I was into wrestling (Born in mid 90s, didn't start watching until the 2010s)
I always wondered what would have happened if Hogan had made the heel turn in WWF in this era instead of in 96. Would fans have just outright rejected it or would it have worked?
Glad you're excited for it! I'm a huge Haku and Hennig fan, so they'll get some work in this save. And no firing Warrior unless he doesn't give us a choice haha.
Maybe the Rumble is 1 guy and then you run a Fatal 4 Way the following week at Saturday Night's Main Event between all the guys who were champs the prior year in 91, so Hogan, Taker, Slaughter and Warrior for the other competitor. Then you have a nice 3 month build til April. That's a long time without a champ, but there's no events between Saturday Night's ME and WM so it could work maybe?
It does seem somewhat similar to the Survivor Series and This Tuesday In Texas situation where one show fed into the other since they were close together. I have an idea that I like for using the Rumble to crown the champ, but you bring up a great point about not necessarily needing a champion until WM. That would make the main event bigger also. Decisions haha. Always appreciate the great feedback!
Pat and Bruce pitched for Scott Steiner to make his debut in the Royal Rumble and win it, then go on to win the title at Mania that year. This was in 1993, but... what if you moved that up a year, and did that with someone?
I'm very intrigued by this idea and have already started working on a shortlist of guys who would fit that role to see if it's a better direction than some of the other options. Could be interesting. Thanks for the feedback!
Hi. Im looking forward to this series. Maybe you have an advice for me playing the game. The game wont start anymore since one of the last win10 updates. reddit also doesnt give me a hint :(
Hope you enjoy the series! Hmmmm, that's interesting. I wonder if downloading the database and such again would work? Not sure why it would be doing that.
Oooh. I'm running a WCW 92 game that im currently into September 93. Its a great mod. This might be super precious of me but i noticed no Benoit in the 98 mod. I'd like to advocate for Snuka being binned off too? Think Herc was fuming about getting squashed (Sid maybe?) And either sandbagged or was unprofessional?
That came a little later before WrestleMania, but generally, he began being buried after SummerSlam '91 as Paul Roma had left and Power & Glory was no more.
Would love to know where things stand with your WCW 92 game! Really almost picked them instead of the WWF. But yeah, I've never been a huge Snuka fan anyways, so we won't have much for him to do. Herc, on the other hand, needs to get back on track because I always liked him haha.
@@wrestleblake going well. Hoovered up a lot of WWF talent (Hennig, Flair, LOD). Their main event scene is Hogan, Warrior, Taker and Savage with Savage leaving soon and an ever decreasing pile of midcarders looking to break through. WCW dont only start off with Sting, Steamboat, Vader, Luger and Rude but Arn, Austin, Pillman, Dustin, Cactus, Steiners, Nash and Hall all under contract.
