30:46 You are wild for that one! This was such a wonderful and thorough explanation. I was really struggling with how to book more efficiently without burnout. The part that helped me the most was your storylines & What if sections because I was trying to type out full scripts instead of just being brief. Thanks a ton and I am subscribing.
This mod needs an overhaul with some wrestlers. Ric Flair a hard drug user? He is a drinker but even then, he was very functional so he should have the drinker attribute and Hogan had 0 issues in WWF letting someone go over if it meant a good storyline, he shouldn't have that ludicrous That doesn't work for me brother attribute unless he leaves WWF but instead should have the money motivated bc that is what he cared about, will this angle/match make money. I hope TEW IX minimizes some of these attributes
Great show. Still loving this. Savage is my all time favourite wrestler, so you know what I'm hoping for! I can just see that Gene Okerlund shocked reaction in my mind too!
2020 makes insignificant sized promotions fun because for the first dozen shows you just need to get above your base number in your home region so if you've started with your own promotion you can hire in half a dozen rookie graduates and just have to get an overall grade above 0 and this works until you're around 10 iin your home region, but hopefully by that point your roster are gaining governess as well
Just to give you an update on my save, I tried to sign Sting, but due to his loyalty to WCW, he wouldn't sign an exclusive deal. So, he's resigned with WCW. I have bought out another company, though, giving me two child companies now, IWCCW, and now the one in Alberta (I forget the name), which already has Lance Storm and Jericho.
I forgot about the potential WCW loyalty for Sting! That's disappointing. But love the idea of adding more child companies. Oddly enough, I've been reading one of Lance Storm's books and I think the promotion was CRMW? He tells a lot of funny stories about his run there. Who knows, you may see one or both of them pop up soon in the series...
@@wrestleblake I have him in WFWM right now. My big challenge now is to try to raise Yokozuna'a popularity. It will probably be easier with Razor Ramon since I'm getting between 65-75 on his vignettes.
We did sign her to NXT to build up some popularity since it was still pretty low during this era of the save. Hope you're continuing to enjoy the series!
@@wrestleblake good decision with Hayter hopefully Hunter pushes her. I am still enjoying the series I chromecast it to my tv every night while I play TEW haha
Another good show, happy you're back. If you use the protect note on DDD it'll get you another couple minutes out of him. Could probably handle a 10 minute match with the note.
Thanks as always for the kind words! Great point on Dave's stamina. He'll never have an Iron Man match, but maybe we can get a little more out of him haha.
@wrestleblake the protect note never hurts ime. It helps with stamina, make weak workers look better and will allow stubborn workers to put over talent.
Freddy's stardom cannot be denied haha. And yeah, Mo has ridiculous potential since he's only 30 and we've just started using him in singles storylines. Cornell adds lots of intrigue for sure. Always appreciate you watching!
As a new player, can anyone recommend a video that shows the process of booking a show well? I'm kind of mimicking some of Blake's techniques here but I rarely break 50. I don't know what I'm doing wrong; seeing an example of someone going through their booking would help me I think.
@@wrestleblake I think it would. I did watch parts one and two since I posted that first comment and I think just watching how you personally go through the actual gameplay portion of booking would be really useful and fun to see.
damn, if you build up to a T-Bone VS Ernest Youngman feud and love Youngman as much as I do ... The numbers don't lie and they spell "transitionnal champ" for T-Bone Birght 😂 Happy to see this series back, I missed it :')
Glad you're enjoying it! Yeah this mod is excellent. I could see myself playing with multiple promotions outside of the WWF since it's such an interesting game world.
Great to have you back, man. SNME was loads of fun, and that popularity growth from both Savage & Roberts is crazy. With growth like that, it won't even be a question of whether Flair/Savage should main event Wrestlemania over whatever Hogan is doing. Looking forward to more!
@@wrestleblake And thank you for always showing me new and fun stuff to do in this game. Every time I feel like playing TEW but don't know what to play I check your channel for ideas. I downloaded this database because of this series and am currently playing as Tiny Lister who owns WCW.
Cornell vs Gilmore is a dream match of sorts. I cant see that headlining excessive force. But if Wolf is gonna have Gilmore go through the gauntlet, then 3 weeks from now feels too soon.
It's certainly a huge match that will be treated as such if or when it happens. There will be an....interesting development on next week's show that could have an impact on Excessive Force haha. Always appreciate you watching!
Freddy is one of my favorite characters in any series ive ever watched 😂😂 i wanna see him become world champ just to see how you have him win it, avoid and eventually "overcome" his challengers. This is great!
@@wrestleblake I’m just curious to see how your mania plays out, I’m thinking about buying the game this weekend and doing it. I’m thinking Maybe piper vs flair for the title
Always appreciate you watching! And yes, my rule for all my series is I'll give myself one "freebie" contract each year. I could've waited to use it until later but liked the idea of bringing in Keith for a story we're gonna tell in the future. Thanks again!
It may take time to build Shawn up. Just give him some promo time and pad up his win total, then have him chase the IC title. He's starting to see his popularity rise in my save now.
In my save Sid's popularity really jumped up the first month. I also forgot to mention in my comment to your last video that I signed Luger and Nikita Koloff. Now, that I've made it to June, I'm working on signing Scott Hall, Yokozuna, Afa, Samu, and Fatu, and waiting for Sting's contract to expire so I can sign him.
Loved reading about your current save! So much awesome stuff in there. It's always nice to see what others are doing with the same starting point. Curious how you'll use Sting once his WCW contract is up! Appreciate you watching.
@@wrestleblake Well, I'm glad you asked, lol. My plan is to have him face Jake Roberts at SummerSlam. After that, I'm not so sure. But with one more week left for me in June, I've come up with my plans for SummerSlam, barring injury of course. Savage defends WWF title against Flair in Steel Cage Bret defends IC title against Davey Boy (just like in real life) Warrior vs Sid Hogan vs Koloff Undertaker vs HBK (Shawn's popularity has been rising feuding with Bret and wanted to give him a high-profile match here) Money Inc. defends tag titles against LOD (which I read was the original plan in real life) Natural Disasters vs Nasty Boys Jake vs Sting (Most Likely. May even make Sting a mystery opponent.) Luger vs Andre (Yep, I've brought back Andre.) Oh, Piper has decided to go do a movie, which he'll do a in a couple months, but his contract expires before then and decided not to resign since he wants to freelance.
Great to hear from you! Hope all is well your way. And yeah, I knew Jake would get a boost, but wasn't expecting that much haha. Thanks as always for watching!
I'm also doing a save with this mod and I'm halfway through May. Initially, I booked very closely to real life, so I took some liberties like editing out Hogan's creative control clause. Now, though, I'm beginning to do a little bit more fantasy style booking like signing future WWF stars like Paul Levesque (whom Ted Dibiase is now mentoring) and sent most of them down to IWCCCW, which is now my child company after buying them out. I've also revived the Women's division after buying out the women's promotions and signing free agents like Velvet McIntyre. Along with that, I've also added tv deals in Mexico and Japan and plan to sign a new one in Canada in January. Of course, by then, I'll have Raw. I kept Prime Time Wrestling and book it like real life with a bunch of matches taken from live events, so no squashes. Most of the segments are like real life with the panel with Vince, Heenan, Slick, and Hillbilly Jim. They're joined by Mike McGuirk in the second one, Beefcake in the third, Sean Mooney in the fourth, and Mean Gene in the last one. Then, Mean Gene does his ppv report with the big names being talked about like Hogan, Savage, etc. For Wrestling Challenge, that's almost exactly like real life with almost all squash matches against the jobbers. Lord Alfred Hayes has his special report highlighting one or two feuds. Mooney has his segment like in the event center, highlighting less important feuds and Gene has has report on the biggest feuds. For Superstars, since that's my A show and is one hour, I have two or three marquee matches along with Gene's report at the end of the show like in the other ones, and his update earlier on the show to showcase other feuds. I thought about making King of the Ring a ppv a year early but decided to wait until 1993 like in real life since I'll have Raw and plan on making it a two-hour show, so I'll be able to book four qualifying matches a week, one on Challenge, one on Superstars, and two on Raw.
He was still in the indies as Al Snow. By the time he went to the WWF, he was initially Avatar and then Shinobi before becoming Leif Cassidy of the New Rockers.
Thanks as always for the kind words! Everyone has a different timeline for what they perceive as the Golden Age era, but I like the period from when Hogan wins the belt in 1984 to when things start changing a lot in 1993. I did a TEW series years ago with WWF in 1989 and that was one of my favorites. Plenty of interesting options!
