“Josh Allen is better than Cam Newton” is a prime example of personal bias overruling objective fact. Never has Allen’s ON FIELD play come close to Newton’s BUT because of how people feel about who Newtown is OFF THE FIELD they devalue what he did in College in the SEC with no help and what he did with the Panthers with none. What he did in those situations IS legendary!! Forever enshrined in a National Championship win and a MVP winning season that ended in a superbowl appearance. Josh hasn’t achieved nothing close to that!

Josh Allen so protected they tried to vilify Stefon Diggs and protect and underplay Josh Allen’s underachievement for years even though they wanted and predicted Bills to win the Super Bowl 2 out of the last 4 years. Now we will get the answer who was the problem. Expect goal post movement

That’s actually kind of a crazy take I never thought of. Two of the most hyped up QBs one a 2 time MVP (even if 2nd was worst in over a decade) and other a MVP/SB favorite every year, their teams decided it’s better to run the ball and pass less. That should speak volumes but nobody wants to hear it. Great take!

One moment “they should trade diggs”, the next “the bills are not contenders without diggs”. Why is last year not proof that anyone on that team can go for 100 yards any given week when he’s throwing the ball. He doesn’t need a true WR1 to perform, just someone that has the potential to be one.

Nick is smart enough--and I love him, he's one of my favs--to know that just one stat (passer rating) is not the only way QBs produce. TDs, yards, rushing, rushing TDs, the stress they put on a defense, etc. Josh can be seen as the second best QB in the game, fairly at that.

I love Josh Allen. He's got good character focus, and his QB play is right up my alley. Physical with a cannon. Is he top five? I don't know. There's a lot of good QBs in the league right now. I just hope he doesn't back in real or pretend Glory. Just do you and enjoy the game. More running the football for the RB. fine. There's nothing wrong with being a good QB and not caring the whole team on his shoulders.

The reason we know early on QBs now is because the QB position is easier to play than it used to be. Its entirely in the QBs hands and the defense is praying for mistakes.

It’s crazy how people think the only things that matter when evaluating QBs are super bowls (the ultimate team achievement in the ultimate team game) and a subjective, media-driven award. Who cares about data or metrics designed to measure individual performance when evaluating…individuals? We have all lost our minds regarding QBs.

One moment they should run the ball more with their backs to take some of the offense responsibility off of Allen. Now they do that and now the coaching staff doesn't have confidence in their QB.

Josh’s passer rating may never be good, but he will always be in the top 3 in touchdowns, a much more important stat to winning games.

Yes, Nick, having a running game helps any QB. He treats other players so differently than "his guys." I just wonder how it would be if Allen was with Andy Reid and Mahomes had a defensive head coach his whole career....

They are only horrifying if Stefan is happy. If he decides to be upset, he might just take the whole season off and just run out there like he’s in practice. This is why a bunch of other teams did not try to trade for him. There must have been some serious issues that the other owners and GM knew about.

Allen excelled with Diggs and Davis basically invisible during the last 12 games of the year. With these two gone, a solid #2 now on the books, and a younger faster #1 on the way, I think he’s going to be just fine.

I believe this trade was a blessing in disguise for the Bills and Josh Allen. While the Bills were a potent offense with Diggs at times, they had a hit or miss type mentality offense. The Bills have all the pieces on offense to be more dynamic and efficient. Few teams have a legit pass catching rb/te dynamic and the Bills have one with Cook/Kincaid. Just look at the Lions offense. That alone can compensate for a weak WR room at the moment. Anyone who has played the game of football understands this. Elite running backs and tight ends together in the passing game can draw attention and put pressure on linebackers and safeties which open things up more for average WR's. Do we need Stefon Diggs? Naw not really. Besides, he's regressed in his route running ability and seperation skills which is why we have moved on from him. Curtis Samuel provides that electric run after catch threat that this offense has been missing for awhile now. Lots of underneath stuff for him via screens, jet sweeps, ect. The Bills will prolly need to draft a legit outside WR in round 1 but it's prolly a lock at this point now. Allen will continue to be the best QB in the NFL and book another playoff birth this year.

Josh has high highs and low lows. People love to forget the low lows for some reason. I still think he is one of the best in the league but we cant just forget about the downsides

Completely disagree with Nick and I think it’s cause his philosophy on qb’s is off. Most quarterbacks need development in general, even the ultra talented ones. CJ will probably be very good next season, but if he does happen to slip a little bit it wouldn’t surprise me. Guys put up way too much expectation on the quarterbacks shoulders when they are fresh in the league.

The reality of Allen doesn’t line up with the hype. You’d swear he had 3 rings and 2 MVPs too.

By definition the peak is the single most point of highest achievement. Which translates to not a stretch of seasons but one season at the most. And broussard persist in pushing a narrative as a given that Josh Allen's the top five quarterback as if it's not debatable. I aint a Josh Allen guy as a patriots fan but the guy is clearly a top 5 QB in the league so i have no idea why Nick gets so annoyed with him...i can only assume its because other people like him and Nick thinks everyone should just rim Mahomes...Allen is just basically the Manning and Mahomes is the Brady of this era...great QBs and one has a better situation than the other...if you put Allen with KC and Mahomes with Buffalo i don't think it changes which team wins the most titles

I think the Bills got the better end of this trade. Diggs is older, declining, and has a bad attitude. And with how deep the 2024 draft is at WR, the Texans would have been better off drafting a WR and acquiring another defensive player through trade or free agency. But I do think the Texans are top contenders in the AFC (along with the Ravens) to challenge the Chiefs.

My take on the entire Josh Allen discussion is: Over the last 4 years Josh has been slightly overrated as a regular season quarterback. But Josh Allen in the post season is starting to get really underrated. He simply is an absoulte all time great playoff performer. All his passing stats are ridiculous and he is the Best running qb threat of all time up to this point in the playoffs. The Bills have underperformed but Josh Allen has done the opposite.

If Diggs can keep his ego in check and not lobby for targets to the detriment of the offense, Houston will simply have too many threats to contain. It's rare to see this, like a Mahomes-Hill combo, because salaries get too big when the QB isn't on their rookie deal.

One the few rare aspect of Nick I don't like is when he gets caught out on a take that shows his position to be hypocritical and inconsistent like with the 'We know pretty early about players these days.' And Brou mentioning the Prince Nick will get snide and petulant and do this debate tactic thing of 'Oh I didn't realise we were talking about THAT today! We can if you want?! But since we prepared THIS discussion let's have THIS discussion today and we can do THAT one later! OKAY?!' As though EVERY conversation isn't expanded on due to off the cuff comments and random comparisons... It's very, unpleasant to watch, shows a lack of impulse control and he did the EXACT same thing a little while back whilst criticising someone and Wildes brought up how that same criticism would apply to Mahomes and Nick lost it in the exact same way. Actually it seems Wildes gets under Nick's skin a lot because Nick will say things to Wildes he'd never say to Brou. There's actual a subtle amount of needle occasionally in what Nick says to Wildes because he'll go after Wildes reasoning/thinking rather than what's wrong with the take itself. And because Wildes will choose to deescalate 99% of the time, usually by making a self-deprecating joke, I think Nick has got the impression Wildes doesn't actually have an argument to defend his take with. That kind of behaviour on Nick's part has subtle school bullying vibes to me, where the aggressive/violent kid will go after the passive/pacifist kid and because he doesn't fight back the bullying gets the impression the other kid isn't CAPABLE of fighting back. Obviously it's not as severe as that, but that's the 'thinking' behind it I believe and is what bothers me. If you don't believe me or think I'm exaggerating just keep an eye out for it, you'll see it. Thankfully it doesn't happen every episode but it is still there.
