Sharleen Spiteri is an amazing woman, inside and out. She's a close friend of my family back home in Glasgow. Great sense of humour, can't say anything negative about her because there ISN'T anything negative TO say! And yes, she's a legend. You don't see it much on stage, but her guitar skills are amazing.
Little known band called Texas ? For you maybe but they were huge in the 90s and they've still got it Sharleens voice is still as good as it ever was 😂😂
Just loved Texas . I bought there inner smile tape for my first car (white Ford Fiesta) My car got stolen I was more worried about my Texas tape. I used to drive with the music blasting . Iam writing this on Christmas eve 2023. Tomorrow iam downloading it into my car to listen while I drive to visit family for christmas 🎄. Merry Christmas everybody 🎉😊
First saw them at Pride in Glasgow. She blew the city away. Fantastic band. She’s one of the best front performers I’ve ever seen. Was at the 25th anniversary show at the Hydro. Was up the back sitting with her family. What a night. Sharleen yer a wonder hen! Geez 10 Guitars! 👌🏽❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 I actually live in Texas now. 👍🏽🤠 Don’t get Iplayer so can’t see the whole set. Anyone uploading it on here?
Didn't catch any of Glasto 23 because I wasnt there and I refuse to pay a tv licence but its good to see proper bands are still killing it on the pyramid
We saw them at The Glastonbury Extravagaza 2023 (in the grounds of the Abbey) on Saturday 5th April 2023. Only a limited amount of tickets (10,000), but the beauty is they have a no flags or brollies rule which means even if you get to actually SEE bands on stage. Texas were the Headline act supported by The Lighning Seeds and the Wells Town Band. Absolutely awesome band, I remember buying an early 'Greatest Hits CD' in the 90's, then they've dropped off my radar over the last few years, back with a vengence.
I heard her say something absolutely wrong in an interview: that she would not be beautiful. She absolutely was 30 years ago, we all age, but she is still very beautiful & the best singer! Absolutely amazing!!
Lucky you, shame they're not playing in London. I would have liked to have seen an entire set. Not a random bunch of 3 songs, cherry picked by the BBC.
Texas were so much better than Guns and Roses and blaming Axls vocal on the sound was rubbish he just cant sing like he used to time for him to hang up his mic
@@juliewales G N R s were ok but I do think Texas and Chrissie Hynde were way better. Axel has seriously damaged his vocal chords but he gave an energetic performance which was a surprise!
I was at a show for their 25 years tour (I think it was). Im mid30 and one of the youngest one in the crowd... Sustainable bands get older public I guess... :D
Well, actually the idea of the song is to mashup the sounds of Motown (Diana Ross, Smokey Robinson) in the verses and the Beatles in the chorus. It is completely intentional and it is brilliantly done imho.
