One last question.. I have t-pins in my mannequins neck from all throughout beauty school. Am I allowed to leave it in the neck to use when necessary? Or does it need to be in the bag of whatever service I need it in

@@04hotchics good question not sure if they’ll care all raters are different students that use them I usually suggest to put in that specific bag .

Could we keep the mannequin draped with the same towels and hair net from the facial kit to the soft wax kit? I see you used the same cape but got a new top towel, headband and hair net? Love your videos btw❤

Honestly it not something they say on the bulletin they are not very thorough we simply try to do what we believe will work and they want to see, I think you switching at least the top towel and head draping makes a good transition for a new service. 🍀🍀

My instructors told me the cap and headband counted as the mannaequin prep and we wouldnt need to drape the mannequin. What are your thoughts? Tysm i have been watching your videos like crazy getting myself ready. It was thanks to this channel i was able to pass my written portion!

So she suggested you do the draping of the mannequin during which part of the test ? The pre exam set up and disinfection? If it has worked for your other classmates I say do what she suggest this method has worked for our students.

@@GlamAndBeyondwhat I meant is that we did not have to drape our mannequin with the towel/cape/towel but that the clip, headband and shower cap counted as our mannequin prep for the facial service. I hope I clarified well. Thank you!

love your videos but I have a question, at the end of the waxing you keep your gloves on and go into the kit isn't that cross-contamination, or since you sanitize your hands with gloves on are they clean?

You sanitize your hands before and after going into your kit also if you wish to take the gloves off immediately after done you can it’s really up to you 🙂

Do you know if you have to zip your kit closed each time you take something out? Or can you leave it unzipped for the whole test?

Has to closed that is one of this things they are looking for that container,jar, kit remain closed through out the test .

Nope Texas all students must do a theory computer test and a practical hands on test once the theory portion has been passed .

Hi, so after the facial, the mannequin is very shiny. At what point between finishing and starting the waxing service, can we wipe our mannequin? Or will the massage oil dry out on its own?

If you feel the need to wipe it down you can do it any any time you saw how I used cotton rounds to “remove excess product” on the mannequin if you wish to spray the cotton rounds with water and than remove you can .

Our students use the same cape for facial and waxing. They than change the cape into a Haircutting cape with neck strip for the haircut section. Followed by changing into new towel cape towel for the chemical service, permanent wave , blowdry etc. For those sections they only change the top towel, but keep the same towel that’s underneath and the cape. Hope that helps. Also when in doubt you can change capes for each section if you prefer. Some students use disposable capes , it’s really up to you, as long as you are draping and making sure nothing is soiled.

I would say depends on what your instructor suggests this is what we usually have our students do.

I have 1323 hours and will never take the practical (IMO it’s completely useless). Texas should drop the practical exam like California did. Texas is so LATE. 🙄

No not different, just be sure you have a table ready where you will perform everything log in on time do as they say, follow instructions if they give you any and do the best you can.

Can we leave the headband, plastic cap and draping on the mannequin from the facial service to the waxing? I was told we could leave it but I’m not sure if it’d loose me points because in the next section for soft wax I wouldn’t be technically demonstrating that?

Ooh I took my practical today and I messed up so bad I thought the Facial was first but the Monomer/Polymer over tip was first 🫣 my biggest issue was forgetting to put everything up after each section, also my mannequin stand came off on one of the sections and I was so embarrassed and I dropped my water bottle twice the practical exam is very intense in Texas tbh…

The only part of the test that was removed from the Texas Cosmetology practical test was the eyelash Strip application. The Facial portion still IS part of the test

My teachers said to label as “soft wax”. Should I put mock wax instead? Also, what post wax product are we applying? Is that what the astringent is for?

Yes you can have your laptop be sure to check you email leading to the schedule time of your test I’m sure they will send you a link with instructions. Be sure the space you will be using is clutter free and make sure no one is in the room with you and you have no distractions. Have your kit and ID and everything ready .

what a relief lol ur amazing thank you for responding im testing on the 9th before my hrs expire on the 14 of feb so im low key freaking out any recommendations i test once before when i wasnt ready but i know this next time with ur videos ill pass but in the case that i dont anything that i should consider doing before hand or after to extend my my time before expiring hrs i hope that makes sense also, I was wondering any place that you would recommend or I could go and have someone watch me professionally yo make sure im doing my test correctly

@@priscillagramillo4760 hi Unfortunately no I do not have any recommendations as far as person to watch you perform the steps. Honestly practicing on your own and evaluating your own work and timing yourself is perfectly fine to do. Practice each section, the chemical service sections the haircut the nail tip application all of that 🍀🍀🍀
