I can’t thank you enough for these videos. I acquired 1600 hours in California, 11 years ago and never pursued my license. Now I’m in TX and I was approved to take the state board but I’m so unprepared because it’s been so long. Watching your videos is bringing it all back to me. ❤
i’m so sorry to bother you but i have a question if you don’t mind, i’m kind of in the same boat as you but it’s asking me my tdlr number and i don’t remember it, how did you remember it/get it?
@@rockaylamarie5281 you need to contact TDLR directly on the phone and with you Social number they should be able to look you up and give you your permit number, same with psi they should be able to find you with social but you have to call .
@@rockaylamarie5281 you’re not bothering me at all. Unfortunately I will be no help. My hours were not from TX they were from CA so I had no number through the TDLR. I would just call the office and push all the buttons until you talk to a real person.

In school we were not taught that there is a separate bag for the “chemical prep only;” it went straight into chemical application. Should I also prepare this bag even if we weren’t ever shown?
Remember everyone does things a little different, I chose to do it this way because there is a section alone of chemical preparation and I feel it helps the students remember what they are doing and having only those items in that bag makes it more simple . But yes you can have everything in one bag do what works best for you either way you will be fine as long as you perform the steps required 🍀🍀
Does it have to be white perm rods? Im taking my test soon and I'm so nervous. I have most of my schooling from North Carolina and then moved to Texas to take the practical and written! Thanks to you I passed the written but now I'm nervous about the practical.
Hi try to relax all will be good ☺️ just be sure your kits has everything you need , no they do not need to be white perm rods, you can use any color towels as well as long as you have what’s needed to demonstrate what’s required you are ok 👍🏼

Hello I have a question I took my practical exam via zoom and won’t receive my score for 3-5 day but when I went to the PSI exam website it says pass. Does that mean I passed even though I didn’t get my score yet ? And I would like to thank you for these videos and inspiring all that watch what you create.

For the ziplock bags I am using 2.5 gallon, 1 gallon and quart size bags. Quarts size bags are only being used by me for small trash bags within the nail, facial and waxing services. Is this accepted? Also for most of my services bags I used 2.5 gallon bags EXCEPT for nail, blood exposer and perm….I used 1 gallon bags. Is this acceptable? Thanks in advance! ❤

Here to drop my testimony lol I started cosmetology school here in houston Tx right before Covid & I LITERALLY received zero hands on training with anything other than what I already knew on my own. We received all of our hours without having to actually put in the work once we were cleared to go back after Covid lockdown which was disappointing bc I really wanted that Cosmo school experience & bc of that I got discouraged and was about to give up. So, after I lost my job I started taking steps to study for my written & I passed with an 87% score. Procrastinated on scheduling my PSI bc I was so scared of failing & knew that I didn’t get the proper training that I paid for. I found your videos about 5 days before my PSI last week & i watched your videos everyday & I studied hands on for two days lol I received my scoring today & I passed! 109 out of 119! Thank you so much!! 🥲

I have the bag checklist I got from school in 2022, we don’t need to have bags labeled sanitized implements for cottons, sheers, razor blade, combs and other things anymore? They gave us a ready to go kit and we have bags labeled like that for those things. I’m in Texas as well.
It does not specify in the test, but might be too big in my opinion also may be worth you doing a test curl using what you have and see if the curls stays like required. Our students use white or clear powder .
I’m creating my kit it’s been a while since I went to school and I’m able to take my practical now but I was told by someone that Texas no longer is doing the eye brow wax service? Is this true or should I still do a bag for that section?

I would like to use a tripod for my mannequin head but it doesn’t fit in the duffle bag with everything else. Am I allowed to just carry it with me outside of the bag?
Do they do not have to be in a container. And I believe yes they don’t mind the writing on the bag as long as it’s clear and readable without extra information on it .
What products did you use for the makeup remover and cleanser because I bought the ponds makeup remover cream but not sure for the cleanser @glamandbeyond
The paper towels that are in the bag are only used at the beginning and at the end and can be used as needed, the bags have two paper towels to disinfect before starting section and to disinfect after . Hope that makes sense, but you can set up whichever way works for you there is no right or wrong way 😊
Mock wax is Vaseline , and for the other products you can actual product or water but make sure to label the bottles the correct name . “Astringent, Antiseptic etc. “ the disinfectant bottle have actual disinfectant in side.
I have a question, when you pass your practical you wait until you get your license in the mail? Or do you apply online for it? I’m getting different answers so I’m not sure 😭

If not, I guess I’ll be forced to test with the one in my kit that I hate because it constantly falls off the table. Do you have any suggestions? I know a lot of schools have tripods in their kits my school did not and suggested I used the stand provided.
