The only thing worse than a psycho that kills children are the cowardly police that sat outside the classroom and listened to him do it... and did nothing.
I honestly do not believe the police failed to act because of cowardice. One person misread the situation, and he gave an order that was followed in an attempt to do the right thing. So many people, including law enforcement, will have to live with the unbearably tragic consequences.
This is what I’m saying. Funny how they have so much balls and will break a door down to catch a black man with drugs but they cant save children from one single shooter.
Crazy that they can manage to bust down the doors for No Knock Warrants but they can’t bust into a school to save innocent children. This a shame and disgrace!

Class doors are designed to keep people out. The shooter was shooting at officers inside and outside. No knock warrants are done so the perps (who are very dangerous) don't have a chance to grab their guns and shoot officers.
Even if it was mistakenly categorized from “active shooter” to “barricaded shooter” the scene was not secured. Kids could have been bleeding out & needed medical help. Lives were still at risk & never stopped being at risk until the gunman was killed. Clearly not a “barricaded” shooter if gun shots were heard “sporadically”. The whole tactical response between what is “active” to “barricaded” to “hostage” needs to scrutinized especially if it’s a mass shooter situation. He is “barricaded” but still shooting? Common sense was lost & this tragedy needs to exposed for all its ugliness and incompetencies.

The statement made from a little boy of officer outside that door saying "If you need help yell" then saying a child in that class did just that...and the gunman walked over and shot him- was the most sickening thing I have ever heard in my life! Children locked in room with gunman- who in the hell would NOT just assume they needed help?? There is no way in the world these cowards can get around the 911 calls coming from inside those classes starting at 12:03 and continuing until 12:50, with children begging for help and saying they can hear the officers outside their classroom door.
No matter who it is that needs help, you cannot just kick the door in and run into the room. The timeline says the teacher went to prop the door 1 minute before it started and then had all that time to lock it to save the kids. There were police there already shooying it out with him so why was it more important to call the police when you know it has already been radioed in? People are so damn fast to blame cops for a citizens actions they have no problem overlooking the critical detail that was literally life or death for those kids. Those officers can say screw this i quit and walk off the scene just as easily as anyone else can quit their jobs. We should be so lucky they are willing to take fire to do whatever they can to save as many as possible. The agony these families must be feeling is overwhelming. May God help us. How can those officers not act? Regardless of what the commander said to do or not do, to stand in the hallways and hear shots and screams of children is incomprehensible. Shame on them. The shooter is ultimately at fault but these officers also have blood on their hands.
It is a vile horrendous lie to lean on the "good guys with guns" distraction. We are living in hell on earth when this happens not just once, but more than once a week in this country students are exposed to a shooting.
The shooter was shooting through windows at officers and at officers inside. All accounts indicate that the shooter got off 100 rounds or so before police got there. Those 3 Uvalde officers tried to enter the classroom but could not. Two of them were shot. All indications is that those 100 rounds before the officers arrived were what killed children, but not all of them. Some survived. Officers were not sitting on their butts sipping coffee while children were be shot. I doubt children were screaming. That attract attention to the child. There is one report that a child who did scream for help got shot by the shooter. One child who called 911 was told to be very quiet. Kids in other classrooms were calling. They eventually heard police next door to them.

Their negligence cost 21 civilians to be killed while they sat comfortably behind the wall waiting for a key when they could have bust the door open. There was even video evidence of a parent recording an officer scrolling on Instagram while the target was still in the building. And for the little kid who called out for help he did that because an officer told him to which got him killed. The police failed them period
I really don't get how he could just not want to check for injured children asap. They had no reason to believe, anyone was still alive? Because they didn't check! I absolutely can't wrap my head around that.

This is totally shameful and sad that they did not act to save the lives of innocent children. They all have vests and guns. Those children had nothing and were very scared. The pure horror of the time ticking by. Those parents would have rushed the shooter and risked it all for their children. No armor no guns. The wrong call and we need better.
The amount of time it took them to get in there, there could have been children shot that were still alive, and could have still been saved, and they ASSUMED that everyone was dead and that it became a barricaded suspect. My heart breaks for the surviving children that had to go through this and the parents that will not see their children grow up.

Problem is, police have zero legal obligation to protect anyone. That was ruled in order to limit their liability. Like if someone tries to kill you, and the police get there too late, your family can't sue them or their department. Well, they got what they wanted. Also, their number one rule is to go home at the end of their shift. The idea that they really protect us is propaganda. They exist to enforce laws enacted by politicians, collect revenue, and make arrests.

Just an awful situation all around. 2 things resonate with me: 1. I thought I heard that a teacher propped open the door that the suspect ultimately used to gain entry into the school. 2. The time it took to breach the classroom seems excessive. Sadly, it’s likely that the damage was done long before a single law enforcement officer arrived on scene.
The teacher saw the shooter with weapons, she stated that she saw him throw them over the fence as he climbed over the fence. If she saw this as she stated in her interview, that he was still yards away, it begs the question, again, why did she leave the door propped? She stated she ran into her class and hid behind her desk, but was almost certain he could see her. Again, we're missing crucial parts of how all this went down. Sadly the only for sure thing here is that these 19 babies are gone. 😪
At our school, sometimes our outside doors appear to have closed but didn’t. They sometimes have to be pulled shut to lock. Maybe she thought it shut good but didn’t.

Broke my heart when this officer started crying. He was not there and it seems as if he was they would not have been told to wait. This officer is the messenger. Meanwhile about two weeks prior, a single retired police officer who was working as security at grocery store in the Buffalo NY massacre noticed a gunman fully armed shooting, and he immediately (without any squad, backup) took action to stop the shooter. An oldergentlemen, all by himself, so freaking brave, like a true hero he is and will forever be, went against the bullets from the gunman, attempting to stop him at all costs, which allowed all the people inside the store to escape to safety. One retired officer. Yes, he died, but died as an honorable hero. In Uvalde, 19 fully armed officers did nothing, regardless of crying desperate pleads, did nothing to save little children, they hung out in their safety zone, with a wall between them and the shooter . Out of those 19 cops, not a single sweat gland of bravery, honor, or care to take initiative knowing of the continuous rounds of fire towards another target child, NO ONE BRAVE ENOUGH to say F**k this damn waiting, Im going in!!! What a fkn disgrace, just even a man, let alone, they were law enforcement. There was a big difference in these two situations that you tried to compare. In the Uvalde shooting the suspect was barricaded and the police didn't have immediate access to him...and there were hostages in the Uvalde situation which further complicated the police response.

They gathered in the hallway, and any action they might of done, was on the parents trying to jump hoops to get to their children as the saw the police literally stand there, all while rounds fire continued repeatedly within that one hour the waisted For immediate access, All they had to do, was to go around on the opposite side of the building (the side facing the street ,where they had two big wide and very accessible windows to take down the shooter. But no lightbulb upstairs lighten up with any strategy and We can't blame defunding the police for no lightbulb or incompetence THey even had on campus training 2months prior on how to handle an active school shooter . The suspect was barricaded behind locked classroom doors...even the border patrol tactical team couldn't breach the doors and they had to get a key from a janitor to get inside the classroom. The whole point of having reinforced walls and doors in classrooms is to prevent easy access in the event of an active shooter....Schools in this country practice drills that teach the teachers to take the students inside the classroom and lock the doors and barricade the doors in the event that an intruder or shooter is inside the building. The doors are reinforced to stop an active shooter from being able to get into the classroom. Also, officers did try to make entry and two of them were shot....that's why they backed off and waited for a tactical team with ballistic shields and breach equipment. You all are expecting basic patrol officers in a small town to perform tactical maneuvers that they aren't trained for and don't have the equipment to carry out...you are expecting basic patrol officers to go on a suicide mission and be shot to death with a rifle that they don't have the armor or equipment to protect themselves from. It's an absolute tragedy that these innocent children and teachers were killed, it's horrible and heartbreaking! But police officers aren't sacrificial lambs....you cannot expect basic patrol officers to go into a situation that's typically handled by a SWAT or some type of specialized tactical team and hostage negotiators. If you want every basic patrol officer in this country to have the same equipment and training as a SWAT officer, every department in the country is going to need about 500,000 dollars per officer for equipment and specialized tactical training and they will need access to military grade equipment that our President just prevented civilian agencies from having access to.

You suggested that they go to the windows on the opposite side of the classroom....ok what happens if they do that and the shooter chooses to exit the classroom that he is contained in and start shooting the other children and staff members that are being evacuated? You have to understand that while the officers were in the hallway near the door to the classroom where the shooter was barricaded....there was an evacuation taking place at the same time. The best choice was to keep the shooter contained while the other students and staff were evacuated.

I know law enforcement that are truly dedicated, fearless, with tactic and prepared to engage a shooting target. Those cops were looked Lost and disoriented with fear and consumed in cowardness. Yet brave enough to target parents. They failed to maintain their focus on the target and were derailed and disengaged on the mediocre bullshit . That on-scene commander screwed up plain & simple. How do you not think there were no children inside the rooms when you had multiple 911 Calls from the children begging for help inside the Rooms. I honestly think that commander needs to go back to Training because officers were supposed to enter the rooms & put the threat down. I also wonder why the School Resource Officer was not in the school grounds area because as a school resource officer it is his/her job to be there at the school so that's another question.
The school staff had fucked up too. When you lockdown the school they are supposed to lock all the doors. Especially if a gunman is in the vicinity. If the doors were locked the police probably wouldn't have to chase the guy inside.

You disgusting people claiming police just listened to a gunman shooting kids for 45 minutes doing nothing are DISGUSTING LIARS. They went room to room checking for gunmen and evacuating the kids inside. Then they surrounded the last room not knowing how many kids or gunman were in the room. The gunman fired three shots. After that a child called and said he had shot the door and that there were still kids alive in the room. The police then entered and killed the gunman.

I feel for this man, he is a human being who clearly did not WANT all of these kids and teachers to die. So let me see if I understand Mr Mcraw's statement, there were 19 officers inside the school while this was going on, mind you hearing children, babies being shot and the 19 didn't storm in to save these children, one of which was a little girl that called 911 and the shooter heard and saw her and killed her. She hung up when another told her to. 12:21 - You could hear over the call that three shots were fired. 12:36 - The initial caller called back, was told to stay on the line and be very quiet. She said he [the gunman] had shot at the door. 12:43 and 12:47 - She asked 911 to "please send the police now". 12:46 - She [the student] said she could hear the police next door. 12:50 - Shots were fired and could be heard over the call. 12:51 - It was very loud, sounds like officers were moving children out of the room. At that point, the first child that called was outside before the call cut off.

In 2-3 mins, the first 3 cops confronted the shooter at the classroom and exhanged gunfire. 2 cops were slightly wounded and driven back by rifle fire. The suspect barricaded himself inside the connected classrooms by locking the door from inside. Those school doors cannot be kicked IN. They are steel reinforced solid core and open OUT. So, the cops, by immediately engaging the shooter within 2-3 minutes stopped him from going through the other classrooms killing more kids. They saved many lives by trapping and containing the shooter in those limited rooms. they saved many lives.

It took them an HOUR to get in that school. The children that lived didn't even know the cops were in the school. One of the most fatal mistakes here was leaving that door open. When a gunman is firing outside, they are required to lock all the doors if a shooting is in the vicinity. That is what they do during a school lockdown. You've done it. I've done lockdown drills when I went to school. It's not just the cops here the school staff also shares some blame for having the doors open for some reason.
Stop trying to deflect blame from the police. If the door wasn't propped open, the gunman would've easily shot out a window. Lock doors wouldn't have stopped someone with murder on their minds.

THE POLICE, SHERIFF, AND OTHERS INVOLVED IN THE UVALDE SCHOOL INCIDENT SHOULD HAVE BEEN IMMEDIATELY RELIEVED FROM DUTY, AND PAY SUSPENDED, PLACED IN 'STOCKADE', COURT MARTIAL, AND GIVEN A FIRING SQUAD FAREWELL. LAW ENFORCEMENT HANDLING OF THE CASE WAS USELESS. CONCERNED ARMED CITIZENS ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD FROM A SMALL VILLAGE MAY HAVE DONE EVEN BETTER, AND WOULD HAVE TAKEN THE LOW-LIFE SUSPECT ALIVE. P/D. @@Jean-tt6on *I see situational logic isn't your strong suit, had you thought for 2 seconds you would have realized (eventually) that if the shooter was left to only shoot through the window, the shooter would have been dead as soon as police arrived and fewer kids would have died as the shooter wouldn't have had access to the entire room. All 19 need to resign and be stripped of all pensions and benefits. The lawsuits will be massive. Criminal charges and prison time are the only appropriate remedy.
Those officers should have risked life and limb for those kids. I'm not even a cop and I would have ran directly into the school to save children. I'm sickened by this whole thing.
