Texas In July playing live on Long Island NY. Talked to adam and asked if i could record his full set while on state. Best Experience of my life. Please subscribe to my channel for amazing live drummer videos.
He answered this on another video somewhere I believe. He said it's all part of his stage presence. He keeps his posture up and movements sharp because it gives the look of control and confidence, then adds in stick tricks and stuff like that. He's all about performance and giving people the best show he can.
I don't understand how people can just stand around and listen to this. I feel like TIJ makes the best music to move and dance around to. some people....
This has to be one of my favorite band ever! So much energy! If only people would get more into I hate seeing so much talent going to waste, if only I was there haha. I hope I get to meet them!
I generally hate stick tricks because drummers that do them often tend to forget that keeping great time is more important than tossing a stick. Adam however does both with ease. Damn you adam.. Damn you..
Dude same here! GOSH He could of done the classic bell hit or anything else that says, "hey here's a breakdown" but that click just makes it work perfectly! GOSH!
Damn when he plays it's fking badass!!! He's precise like a freaking robot and plays like he's in the matrix or something, idk unique way of playing, hard to fking describe.
It's actually to allow you to have a better grip on your stick when it feels "weird in your hand" haha.Or at least that's what i think. I do this all the time
I think pro series hi hat and maybe a faith crash or pro crash. But he has a custom cymbal being made for him and Imperial is offering it on black friday for $200
I just don't understand how drummers like Adam Gray and Grant McFarland play that low on their thrones. I. and most drummers I've talked to need a slight descending angle on our legs to keep good pedal accuracy. I don't know if it's just me, but an observation I've made over a period of time.
i think he actually falls off and messes up @2:27 if you pay close a attention. Needless to say it definitely takes a professional to get back on a click at like 230 bpms that quick and smoothly...id b shit fucked hahaha. and adam gray is still a mother fucking badass.
