Cultural and socioeconomic differences in students are important to know, as well as how to approach each group. This vid helps state that point clearly.
This video is loaded with information. From visually showing and explaining the differences between teacher-centered classroom to student-centered classroom. To restates the importance of getting to know of Standard I and knowing the ELL levels. Then finally ends with the breaking down the questions to put it into perspective. Once you understand the standards it makes it easier to understand the questions and how to break them down.
I definitely think a diverse classroom is important and handy for student learning! Not only would we promote a healthy classroom environment but I think it would help for the students to have a more extensive knowledge of certain things
The explanation of how social and emotional learning is important to the learning environment of students of all different backgrounds is very important.
When watching this video I was able to understand the needs of all different students between ELL's, SPED, and 504's it helps me to see differentiation explained differently in the scenarios and examples that you provide.
Many of the best teaching methods revolve around student-centered rather than teacher-centered classrooms. The test will likely be student-centered and differentiated for a diverse population if the objective is best practice and best answer. It's incredibly beneficial to have practice test questions as I get closer to the exam.
Great video. Some that was interesting was that it takes 3-4 years for ELLs to just develop BICS. I was not aware of this, so it is important to develop lessons that encourage speaking and practicing the language. Great breakdown on the practice questions!
Student-centered learning is a very effective way to help get students not only to learn, but to buy into the lesson and want to learn, and it will help with the class culture and environment.
Hello I was able to get a better understanding about community base instruction. Another thing I learned about the language skills from bigger to Advance high. Great video!
I think a lot of the best practices goes back to student centered classroom vs teacher centered. If the test is dealing with the ideal being best practice and best answer, it will probably be student centered and differentiated for a diverse population. Practice tests questions are very helpful going as I approach the test.
Pedagogy is important and the best way for a student to learn interpersonal communicative skills is to practice and give opportunities to use the language.
In question 21, you mentioned the topic of metacognition, which is the skill of thinking about your thinking, and I thought that was important for you to mention for that question. It is a critical learning aspect for students to accomplish.
One thing I learned from this video that I didn’t know was block scheduling. I didn’t know what this meant and now I have knowledge of it. And having the answer gave me a better insight. I chose b but it made sense when you broke it down better.
Great video! Very helpful on how to approach different students in the classroom, and how to plan your lessons around the interests or background of your students.
Some may see avoiding eye contact as a form of disrespect. In some cultures, making eye contact is disrespectful, so it's important to be aware of this. Also, we need to remember that many of our sped kiddos don't make eye contact either. This is why knowing our kids is extremely important.
