Let's talk Red River Rivalry. Texas and Oklahoma circle this game on the calendar every year. OU has replaced Jackson Arnold with Michael Hawkins and hope to find a spark. Arch Manning steps aside for the Quinn Ewers return, and Sark will have a game plan dialed up.

Texas had over 200 yds to Michigans 80 something at halftime. It was 24-3 and they scored on 4 of 5 drives. The only drive they didn’t score on was the opening one where a fg was missed and it was a bad holding call on the Td. They dominated that game. To look at full game stats is just dumb. They took their foot off the gas

Tennessee fans were saying the same thing about the Oklahoma win, said they pulled back and could've run it up. Then they went to Arkansas and scored 14. I'll believe when I see it.

Valid points about Texas having a light schedule so far. It's #9 SOS from here on out. We'll see who Texas is. The thing is that Texas has handily beaten ever competitor thus far, which is what elite teams do. I think Texas covers this game.

@kev614 Yes. Hence the smiles. i have watched them for years, comment occaionally. They often get crap from the fan base of the team they don't pick. And they do pick OSU a lot of the time. And they get the ire of Wolverine and PSU fans about it.

Your comment at the 14:32 mark about shortening a game is accurate only if the winning team's strength isn't passing. Texas Tech routinely scored 50 points while being on the wrong side of a 2:1 time of possession. We know Texas brought in experienced pass catchers through the portal and OU's secondary is banged up. That is not a matchup that implies a low score. Sark blew out OU 49-0 two years ago so we know he will not hold back in this game.

The logic here is sound. However, in the last 12 years when a red river team is favored by double digits, Texas and OU are 0-5 against the spread. This is a rare rivalry.

OU is heavily injured and that is a fatal flaw. Oklahoma has the defense needed to beat Texas however their lack of offense can't be trusted but I guess in rivalry games anything can happen

Texas is a paper tiger. Not calling them bad or overrated but they have played absolutely zero competition we need to see the Georgia game to know who they really are. Much the same with Ohio State, Oregon, Penn St as well

The defense pass defense stats are actually related to injuries. Our top corner back, Gentry Williams, is a future NFL guy if he can stay healthy) has been injured since midway through the 1st game.

OU won't have their best RB (Tatum) or WR (Burks). They haven't started their best CB's in a game all year. With Farooq & Anderson out as well who have proven to be able to get open, they've got Sharp, maybe Hester to go to. OU's speed receivers are even a little slowed by bumps and bruises. This will be like the 2005 game when OU had to throw a true freshman out there to fend for himself at QB. OU has to play complimentary football just to keep it close, IMO.

Texas faces a competent offense every day in practice. If you look closely at the film, Ewers throws no-look dimes, knows how to react to blitzes, and throws to the open spots in zone defenses before his receivers even make their cuts and get open. It's leaps and bounds better than he was last year.

The Oklahoma Sooners beat Houston, who beat TCU, who beat Stanford, who beat Syracuse, who beat Ga Tech, who beat Ga St, who beat Vandy, who beat Bama WKU, who beat Toledo. Not really relevant to this game but in the past we wanted to see a team like Texas actually play someone. Usually we had to wait till the playoffs or maybe we would never know. Now we just find out in the regular season. Kinda sucks that there’s no guessing/speculation anymore. Now we just find out.

come back here after the game and you'll see how wrong you are Oklahoma's got the best defense on the field bar none compared competition makes it even more convincing you haven't faced an offense at all like Auburn or Tennessee we face to the better offenses in the nation right now throw to Lane in the mix who has a pretty good offense you haven't faced an offense that's even as good as Tulane Oklahoma up front has shut down teams even Tennessee they held Nico to 190 yards passing and one touchdown that's a much better off in Texas has so to sit here and think that there's no way they can play with Texas when they were in that game to almost win it versus Tennessee and if Michael Hawkins would have played the entire game instead of just half we would be talking about a completely different scenario so don't let the orange Kool-Aid get to your head it's not going to go the way you think it's going to go Oklahoma has the best defensive player bar none in college football with one of us not the best front in the nation right now they lead the nation in Sacks they lead the nation in force turnoversthey're among the top in tackles for loss I can promise you Texas has their work cut out for them if they're going to win this game statistics don't play the football game just like last season oh you were supposed to just run right through us and well that didn't happen did it our defense shut you down defense that's not near as good as the defense we have today so we're going to have three interceptions again you think from your the same quarterback? not to mention he hasn't played in weeks and he's been injured and you think he's just going to come right back in and just take care of business without any mishaps I don't think so! @@woodcrest4655
