Yeah, for a few months. Then it's over again. The devs working on this project are so delusional, 4 teams is a horrible idea for TF2. Splitting 32 players in 4 doesn't even allow them to fill the shoes of every class (Unless they increase the maxplayer limit), then again, that makes the game even more chaotic than it already is, and more than it needs to be. That's my criticism at least.
until valve has it taken down again. only reason its back up and running is because valve started ghosting the developers when they asked them if they could bring their game back up again. and the developers did the good ol' "Dont say anything if we can bring our game back up" and of course, they didnt respond.
Nice to see new stuff be released for this amazing fan project. I know the past few years hasn’t been easy for the TF2C team, so I wanna congratulate you all for sticking with it and pushing forward to not only still make content for this project but also to make sure it’s the best it can be. Looking forward to booting up and seeing what new ways there are to play this amazing game! Thank you all, and I’ll see you on the battlefield!
tbh all of the new weapons look like random community made weapon models made in 2015 taken from the steam workshop, and play like what youd see in a custom weapons server i still dont know what the pyros scythe does

Not to be a party pooper but there's no plans for MvM or other PvE gamemodes, although the community could get around to implementing it themselves if we ever get VScript into TF2C.
theyre doing a hell of a lot more for this game than valve is, I wish tf2 could look as nice as this does for a start. and god its SO much more responsive
I am glad I could take part in helping to record this video, but also play-testing the update itself in the last 7 months. I hope people will enjoy the new content as much as I did and thanks Eminoma for keeping the spirit of old school TF2 alive through this sourcemod. I've been playing TF2 Classic since Death & Taxes, back in 2020, and I'm really happy to see this game come this far. Excited for the future of the game, keep up with the great work!

This is fantasic, I love the new Heavy Weapon. I hope we get the Eyelander and Targe in the future. The Demoknight is something I enjoy for simple goofy fun. I congratulate your team for giving us something new were craving from TF2, without the lore breaking cosmetics plaguing the game. I'm definitely spending more time on your team's version of the game.

The Anti-Aircraft Cannon was actually a weapon we were developing for 2.0.0 (Death & Taxes Update), alongside the L'escampette and the Jump Pad! We were working on these weapons back in 2019 but couldn't finish the weapons for 2.0.0's release in 2020 so we delayed them to 2.1.0 (Fight or Flight update) which just released as you may know. The reason a lot of those community weapon packs have those items is because when we released 2.0.0 there was leftover code, strings and attributes relating to those weapons and the community managed to recreate those items that we couldn't finish in time, but now they're properly finished & released! Hope you'll enjoy our official implementation of all these weapons and I hope you'll enjoy the update itself too, have fun!

A lot of improvements seen in the mod either require custom code (such as the Grenade Launcher correctly reloading), would break existing content (our fix of the Grenade Launcher to give it 4 barrels, it would break existing TF2 War Paints) or have similar community fixes already on the workshop. If there's any improvement TF2C makes that could be submitted as a community fix on the workshop, chances are there's already something similar on the Steam Workshop
The new watch is cool. It buffs your speed immensely during cloak to peel out an escape, but it loses cloak faster, and even more so when taking hits. Plus a QoL global disguise so you don’t need to keep track of 27 different disguises.
Because they can't sell their oblivion horse armor dlc in a mod and the mannconomy would collapse overnight from the base game's exodus. IIRC Valve were the ones that offered to put all these TF2 mods on steam in the first place, and they just ghosted the devs for like a year because Valve knows it would be stupid to platform actively updated versions of their game free from the hat-chapon (which they can get away with scraping content from the workshop and calling it an update). If you approached the TF2 fan base with the offer: "you get new content but you lose hats", most of them wouldn't even let you finish.
It goes without saying that this update is awesome but why wasn't The Brick mentioned with an art popup in the update page like Heavy's new weapons were?
We don't plan on adding MvM or any sort of PvE gamemodes, no. Do look forward to more new & exciting gamemodes in the future though! We have a lot planned ahead
@@ultr4nima thats a shame, i feel like MvM has the potential to be really cool espeically with the 4 different team mechanic, but i can kinda see why that'd be difficult.
Not gonna lie, even though thia video was just posted recently it feels like I was watching this in the early 2010's. It really gave me nostalgia and a sense of fever dream.
in alternate universe TF2C is vanilla TF2 that still updated recently with weapons map and improvement while still maintain the actual TF2 theme, and the vanilla TF2 is the fan mod that focuses on wacky stuff and adding cosmetic only on every update
i honestly feel like tf2c should just become a fanmade tf2 with better thought out weapons and no hats, well maybe some but only if they fit in the art style
