It would cause an immediate shift in the playerbase. Only 3 tickets to get the same loot as two cities, which requires 4, means that people are no longer incentivised to play two cities and gear grinder would quickly become the tour that sees 4 times the amount of players as all other tours combined.

If we just gave gear grinder the same lootpool as two cities, it would mean two cities would get shafted, since there would be no real reason to play it over gear grinder. Two cities would be more expensive, more time consuming, and more potential for wave loss/wave setbacks due to more inexperienced players filling up the queue; whereas gear grinder would be considerably cheaper, less time consuming, and would have more skilled players that would turn the game into a cakewalk. To keep things more balanced, gear grinder could have an increased chance of getting aussies compared to two cities, as well as something new that's specific to that tour, so there's a reason to continue going to both two cities and gear grinder. The new items would NOT be another type of botkiller, instead, it could be a reintroduction of limited-time tools such as strangifiers, chemistry kits, or even an astronomically rare chance of receiving a halloween spell. Some of these items would lead to immense profit, should they be obtained, and considering no other tour would drop killstreak fabricators or the robot parts necessary to complete them, two cities would still be played fairly regularly. As to how this would impact the tf2 economy... idk, I'm not an economist.

I think it's about time they gave gear grinder the uranium and mirror botkillers that have been in the game files for a decade at this point.

Gear grinder should at least drop robot parts. And maybe a low chance of a killstreak kit, but definitely not guaranteed

yeah, don't play two cities if you want to have fun. 2 cities community sucks more cock than the hub, are more toxic than the nuclear industry, and are just all around shitty people. FUCK two cities. everyone who plays two cities needs to get a job instead of uselessly wasting their time gambling for golden pixels. to those who don't play two cities exclusively, you are actually a good part of the mvm community, i congratulate you.

Yeah the community maps are fun even if some of them go a little overboard with giants and crits. Also it can throw stuff that stupid in a bad way. *Looking at you with the mission with that inferno sun boss that can drop your frames*

@@Ultra289 Honestly the gas passer ban is kind of warranted, though I feel like they could have balanced it to do less damage instead of just banning the upgrade. Also scorch shot ISN'T banned at all, the only thing it does is it has less knockback, which is an UPGRADE because this means all your teammates can aim and won't kick you.

I do agree the clogging of robot parts are rather annoying. idk if they're even worth spending 1 extra ticket on the aussie chances. Gear grinder does sound like it would be a nice change from the repeated 2 cities experience, but idk if it'll be worth collecting carbine botkillers especially since they're dirt cheap. Even the diamond ones seem to lack in value compared to gold botkiller Mk. 2 for some reason. That said, I'd rather have botkillers with heavy's head than engie's, and I'm pretty much done with Mecha Engine since I mostly just got silver botkillers that I didn't want.

Talking about the boss on Misanthrope on Humbridge Expert on Galvanized Gauntlet? Yeah it did drop my fps to 30 lol not to mention the boss is so fucking hard when it enters uber phase with the bodyguard engineers, plus dealing damage to them doesn't fill banner rage so killing them is a huge fucking task lol

While Potato and Moonlight MVM do have creative design philosophies for their maps and mission, that doesn't mean all of them are all that great. Prime examples include Titanium Tank's Program Seppuku (it's especially made worse by the fact of how uninteresting Teien is as a map) and Magnetic Mayhem's Oil Overflow.

Do you know how to deal with: Super scout spam Uber medic spam Giant medics Crit boosted soldiers/demo giants Tanks spawning alongside one of the above If yes, then you’re fine. Gear grinder has no gimmicks like the black box giants on mannhatten that heal for a bajillion health or the 32 crit heavy squads or bosses like Sergeant crits, there’s just really hard versions of all the basic mvm components

I didn't know anything about Gear Grinder and I made it clear to the players I was new, they were more than happy to let me know how the meta worked and what upgrades I should buy and helped me breeze through the tour. Definitely worth at least trying it, you might get a similar experience

I beat two of the three Gear Grinder missions in one sitting, first try, with randoms who all had below 100 tour counts. Failed on wave on the third mission. It's actually not THAT hard if you find a guide online, and players who have above room temperature IQ.

Oil Spill is definitely something you always did one tour of for the novelty factor (and the badge) and then never again. It saddens me as an old mvm enjoyer that Steel Trap now shares the same fate as well, but l guess it was inevitable with the release of Two Cities streamlining the experience -- for better or worse.

@@watergaming7543 the only real tough parts of wave 666 are dealing with the barrage of tanks in the middle, and the 96 spies with the next to last tank. And maybe the very end with all the crits

@@JouvaMoufette if you have an experienced team, yes. problem is, nobody who plays wave 666 solo queue is going to get an experienced lobby.

@@SamuelTrademarked Yeah usually not. About 5 minutes before you sent this comment, I had just joined 6 different lobbies solo queueing before I found one that knew what they were doing. But when they know what they're doing, it's very nice.

Mannhatten totally should've had Tanks; it would've at least softened the blow of Rottenburg having the weakest Tanks even by Advanced standards.

community map madhattan fixes a lot of manhattan's shortcomings, and has tanks. its pretty good

There actually were plans for Mannhattan to have a "blimp" robot that would basically be the tank of that map. It was unfortunately scrapped, but I think it would have been cool to see.

Yeah wished other waves have you killstreak kits/parts. I think it would make the gambling addict play different maps.

yeah so far, I never really had munch encountered with toxic players. the closes I got was a getting kicked when I just joined, but they were silent about it

I'd love to see that but I don't really expect that. He does seem attached to Mann Up, even if less of a meta-slave than some, clearly.

@@Flpstrike I've spent most of my MVM time on Potato so I certainly feel that.

@@CrashGordon94 given how he sees mvm as a super delayed slot machine, it's probable that he has spent way too much time with hyper-optimized 2 cities teams. steamrolling gets boring after a while
