Before y’all comment “why are you whipping” or “abuse”….. I never whipped her. She was completely untouched when I bought her, and I did all of her training I used the monty Roberts halter training method which uses the round pen and the horse’s natural psychology, but I will have you do your own research on that because I would writing for hours. I swung it BEHIND her, to move her feet. The clip is cut so in one or two spots it looks like it could have hit her but in the full video it clearly does not. And for the “abuse”, where? Just because I barrel race? Show me one video where I do something that is abuse. In any of my recent videos. I have BUILT this channel on being an ethical barrel racer. And yes I know the round pen work was quite cringe worthy, but keep in mind I was 12, with no phone, and minimal guidance to train my own horse. (I literally bought her for 400$ because, well I was 12) So, that should cover that.

What I appreciate so much about this girl is the fact that she worked with that horse and listened to its cues and properly knew how to train it without abusing it and took the time to pony it and explore different kinds of riding instead of just barrel racing and making her horse do that over and over and it be the only thing ingrained inside of its head unlike most barrel racers. She has a nice seat and shes not pulling on her horses mouth, she doesn’t have spurs, and she isn’t star fishing. Im so glad that shes growing up to be a true equestrian. Also if anyone thinks she’s “abus*ng the horse” .. she’s not she’s just directing it by whipping behind it to get it to go forward.. also done with rope.. just tells them to keep going and gets their attention with the noise and bigger movement .. For anyone who thought the whip was abuse: It is a training method when your get the horse to run in a circle around a pen ( without a lunge reign ) it is often use to see if a horse as any movement problems that needs to by seen to by a vet but can also be used for training (or breaking a horse in). Otherwise she is very gentle on the horses mouth and not over-kicking so she is a very good rider who is considerate about her horses. have a great day!

I don’t think many people realise that you don’t actually need a whip to start off your horse, I’ve backed 2 of my horses so far. We started with simple walks out to gain confidence and then lunging. Whips where only used after we had progressed further in the lunging and only to wave behind the horse. When I finally got on it was little squeezes with the legs and having someone lead him when I did so. Took awhile but he’s the sweetest little thing. Positive training was a large part in it aswell, when he did something we wanted we would give him a treat. I taught them to touch cones with their noses and walk back to me, all with the help of some treats. Doesn’t have to be anything fancy just some hay cobs or something you can fit in a pouch.

Grass is a type of plant with narrow leaves growing from the base. Their appearance as a common plant was in the mid-Cretaceous period. There are 12,000 species now.[3] A common kind of grass is used to cover the ground in places such as lawns and parks. Grass is usually the color green. That is because they are wind-pollinated rather than insect-pollinated, so they do not have to attract insects. Green is the best colour for photosynthesis. Grasslands such as savannah and prairie where grasses are dominant cover 40.5% of the land area of the Earth, except Greenland and Antarctica.[4] Grasses are monocotyledon herbaceous plants. They include the "grass" of the family Poaceae, which are called grass by ordinary people. This family is also called the Gramineae, and includes some of the sedges (Cyperaceae) and the rushes (Juncaceae).[5] These three families are not very closely related, though all of them belong to clades in the order Poales. They are similar adaptations to a similar life-style. With around 780 genera and around 12,000 species,[3] the Poaceae is the fifth-largest plant family, after the Asteraceae, Orchidaceae, Fabaceae and Rubiaceae.[6] The true grasses include cereals, bamboo and the grasses of lawns (turf) and grassland. Uses for graminoids include food (as grain, sprouted grain, shoots or rhizomes), drink (beer, whisky), pasture for livestock, thatching thatch, paper, fuel, clothing, insulation, construction, sports turf, basket weaving and many others. Many grasses are short, but some grasses can grow tall, such as bamboo. Plants from the grass family can grow in many places and make grasslands, including areas which are very arid or cold. There are several other plants that look similar to grass and are referred to as such, but are not members of the grass family. These plants include rushes, reeds, papyrus and water chestnut. Seagrass is a monocot in the order Alismatales. Grasses are an important food for many animals, such as deer, buffalo, cattle, mice, grasshoppers, caterpillars and many other grazers. Unlike other plants, grasses grow from the bottom, so when animals eat grass they usually do not destroy the part that grows.[7] This is a part of why the plants are successful. Without grass, soil may wash away into rivers (erosion). Evolution of grass Grasses include some of the most versatile plant life-forms. They became widespread toward the end of the Cretaceous. Fossilized dinosaur dung (coprolites) have been found containing grass phytoliths (silica stones inside grass leaves).[8] Grasses have adapted to conditions in lush rain forests, dry deserts, cold mountains and even intertidal habitats, and are now the most widespread plant type. Grass is a valuable source of food and energy for many animals.[9] Grass and people Lawn grass is often planted on sports fields and in the area around a building. Sometimes chemicals and water is used to help lawns to grow. People have used grasses for a long time. People eat parts of grasses. Corn, wheat, barley, oats, rice and millet are cereals, common grains whose seeds are used for food and to make alcohol such as beer. Sugar comes from sugar cane, which is also a plant in the grass family. People have grown grasses as food for farm animals for about 4,000 years. People use bamboo to build houses, fences, furniture and other things. Grass plants can also be used as fuel, to cover roofs, and to weave baskets.

I got to work on him immediately, with days of nothing but lunging. He went from never even moving to topping nearly 30mph on a straightaway. It took me less than two months to do that.
