This is as good as it gets. I could LIVE with that table in my shop! Great thinking, great design, and great build. Ain't being a fabricator a great way to be? Glad to call myself one and glad to see the fantastic stuff my fellow guild members create.

This is possibly the best fab table I've seen. And for the money, hands down the best! Awesome!! You got me thinking I want to build one and make the one end modular so I can attach custom work stations, like a vise or pipe vise, and reusable fixtures!!

This has to be the best idea for a welding) fabrication table I've seen to date. Beautiful work. And from welder/ fabricator to another, that's the nicest roll of dimes I've seen on RU-vid. 2 THUMBS UP 👍👍.

we had a similar table in our old manufacturing facility my guys fabbed up it was like 2 tons to move as the work surface was 18 feet long, wish i kept it when we sold the building. cool video showing the process.

great table justin! i found working 6 years fabricating in germany the simplest & most universal table was 2 heavy duty saw horses with two 150mm RSJ beams laying on top. clamp them down, tack them down, scootch them over.. do what you want. simple

What a great idea, I wish I had thought about this when I owned my own metal fabrication business. I made my own welding table which I still own to this day. My Father in law was a welder by trade and taught me how to weld. He used to build custom doors and door frames out of steel so he had built a table frame out of 2"x 2", U shaped bar stock that's 1/8" thick. It was very light weight but quite sturdy and something he used for over 10 years before he gave it to me. It was strong enough that I used it a couple of times to hold engines with the transmission still attached when I did engine swaps. I eventually decided I needed a top of some sort on it so I put an old MDF counter top on it and used that set up for roughly 5 years before I had damaged, broken, drilled and cut holes, burnt up sections, and after the laminate started warping and pretty much became more work to keep the metal flat. So I ripped off the counter top and welded on a sheet of 4' x 8', 1/4", cold roll steel plate onto the top. Doing that made a lot of jobs easier. I still own the table after abusing the table for 15 years. I have used the table for anything and everything. I'm disabled and work out of a wheelchair and have even used the table to stand on to do engine work on a couple of lifted trucks. The table is the perfect size for me to place a chair on top while I'm standing on it so I can sit down when I need to give my leg and knee a break since I am missing my leg. Every good metal fabricator needs a good, solid, table to work on. Bad ass table bud. I know you will get quite a few years of service from this table. Thanks for sharing, maybe I'll make a smaller version for some of my smaller projects

good deal. I appreciate it. I had this other crazy idea of reusing a electric lift/tilt drafting table to help with the odd jobs, but I like the removable slats better. static and simple.

I was building a hot rod frame and had no table. Needed something to tack down frame rails to. Went and bought a 3/8” 4x8’ slab of mild steel. Put it on the floor of my garage. Did layout on it tacked parts down. Worked great, takes up no space. You have to work on the ground but the plus side is you don’t have to lift anything up.

Justin - I really enjoy your videos and simple/clever solutions. You mentioned you were going to make a video of the fixtures you were making for your table. In a later video I see you using a round bar as a wrist support, and figured you probably have a creative solution to make that easily adjustable to suit the work piece. Still planning on that video?

Built a table like this after watching this when it came out. Everyone who comes into my shop thinks it's the best thing since sliced bread. And the amount of times I've welded things going through my table is uncountable. I've only had to replace a couple of slats because I was practicing welding and totally warped it. But so easy to maintain!

Stack angle/bed rails w slats cut for the rails. Removable, adjustable, and good for bending thinner metal also. If u Fab it to a treadmill base u can adjust it up and down at an angle.

Very nice fab table top. Only one thing I saw you missed. Unless it just was not shown in the video. The angle V on the one end. What is needed is flat stock on the bottom for a flat clamping surface. That allows pieces to be easily clamped in the V angle for welding. My dad has this feature on his portable welding rig. Works great for many things

Sure beats my flat top solid table (much smaller). The price$$ is right and I think I will be making something like it in the future. Clamping has always been a problem, where the only area is the edge. I made a small table top stand that I place on the main table allowing me better access for clamping smaller things. It is a 12"x12"x 3/4" plate with three 1/2" round feet about 1.5" tall to it. This allows me at least 2 sides for clamping.

Very clever design. I like it. I suppose you could space the tubing so individually removable tubes could turn this into a solid surface by pressing all the slip-joints together then add the individual ones. I don't do much fab at this point so maybe this wouldn't make a practical difference. I am thinking of building a regular work bench with similar features out of wood. Once I get welding/fab going I will build your design.
