Thanks for sharing. I haven't been in Krabi area for a while, nice to see they still have hold style thai food and markets left. In BKK, thai dessert is really hard to find and you have to go to specific area. Good for you, finding your good life in Krabi!
Happy new year from Australia! I really enjoy listening to your conversations while ordering and the subtitles are a brilliant way to assist some language learning....keep it up, thankyou!
Outstanding! So much variety of dishes, I’m amazed with all the kinds of food you can find in one place, just like in few Latin American countries the best food are in the local markets. Nice video mate!
You are always truthful about what you think of the food. Sometimes you rave...other times like the desserts it's 'meh' rofl... I think our local grocers would sell out of pineapple and watermelon IF they would process it (no extra charge LOL) in front of us. Thanks for another great vid AND interviewing a U.S. tourist. He seemed really happy to be there!
Lol. Yes, some of the food isn't mind-blowing, but a lot of it is. I'm slowly getting around to trying all of it :). The pre-prepared fruit is great, it makes it very easy to consume and you can find those vendors everywhere. Russell did seem to be enjoying his time in Thailand, especially the morning market, he found the best place in town for breakfast! Happy New Year Missy B, all the best for 2018!
This is an older video but idlk cuz I haven't been in Thailand b4..just looking at all this tasty dish makes me hungry..The time right now is too early for me ..lol
Every video is a thumbs up from me, absolutely Incredible. Really enjoyable to watch. Just wish I could make food that amazing. Beautiful people too, really friendly.
Hey Darren hope everyone is doing well mate. Another gr8 vid mate. Your a legend and the best food vlog for me. Continue the great work mate. Have a great weekend. Greetings from Sydney
Love your videos.... I'm watching this at night time and it's making me hungry lol..I hope to travel to Thailand one day just to eat their delicious food 😀 ..happy holidays to you and your family 😀😀
Thanks a lot, I'm glad you're enjoying the videos :). Yes, it is worth coming to Thailand just for the food, but there are plenty of other reasons to come too, the nickname "Amazing Thailand" is definitely justified. Happy holidays to you too, I hope you can get to Thailand soon :)
Hi Darren it's Chirstmas time over here in the UK so this means only one thing loads of food has been consumed and drink unfortunately no Thia food but I am now on count down to flying out to Thialand so I can enjoy many of there foods and after watching your Vids it has encouraged me to try more street foods thanks again for another fab vid and wishing all the best for 2018 to you and your family.
Another nice vid, Darren. I thot the Rice salad interesting. I lived in Korea for over a year and the one thing I missed immensely, was western style breads. Every time I see the pork on a stick breakfast staple, I imagine slapping two of those and half a dozen fried quail eggs in a nice soft bread roll for breakfast with a rich Thai coffee and condensed milk. Might have to try that here at home lol.
Thanks! Yes, that does sound like a delicious breakfast, I'd never thought of putting that combo into a bread roll. It's a great idea, I think I will be trying that soon too :)
I am laughing myself to tears at how in your videos when you take a bite of something that is very spicy you have that look on your face and you can see your skin turn red and you can actually in some of the videos see you starting to sweat it's quite amusing I enjoy your videos very much I plan on coming to Thailand next year for approximately 3 months I hope our paths crossed while I'm in that beautiful country
Hi Darren. Looks like a great market. You can see the Malaysian influence with the Roti. Never encountered that in Chiang Mai. Image quality is great. Are you shooting with 4K? Nice close ups. Thought you must have had your other half holding the camera but I guess not after the frog buying. Hope you had a great Xmas if you celebrated it and keep those excellent videos coming.
Thanks Doug! Yes, it is a great market, there's certainly plenty of variety there. No, I'm not filming in 4K, it's in 1080p. I had a friend helping out with some of the camera work on this one. Hope you had a great Christmas too and wishing you a very Happy New Year!
Great video Darren!! That rice salad looked delicious even though it looked like your eyes were about to start watering lol Those babies and little kids just loved seeing you too. I hope you had a great Christmas, hugs for you guys as always 😁
Thanks Gina! Yes, that salad was fairly spicy ;). And yes, we had a great Christmas thanks, hope yours was awesome too! Happy New Year to you and your family and hugs back!
Thanks Darren for another entertaining and informative video. I love eating a traditional Thai breakfast when I’m in Thailand and especially at a local market. Thai breakfast is so different to our usual western breakfast and just like most Thai food it’s usually very tasty. I would recommend everyone to give it ago. It’s a shame we don’t have any Thai restaurants/cafes open for breakfast here in Perth 🙁. I will be looking forward to more videos like this one in 2018. Cheers and Happy New Year from Perth Australia 👍👍👍
Thanks Craig! Yes, the morning markets in Thailand have some great breakfasts, it's pretty hard to beat the variety you'll find at them. Hope you have a Happy New Year too, wishing you an awesome 2018! 👍👍
Thanks Grace! Unfortunately it is now the tourist season and Aorn works 7 days a week, and it rains pretty much every afternoon and night, at the times when she is available. We have tried to make a few videos together in the evenings recently and been rained out. When it is possible for Aorn and Ananda to be in the videos they will be, but their absence is not through want of trying. Check back in a couple of hours for this week's video because they are in this one :)
Hey Darren, what is the dessert called at 12:40? I was looking for that dessert when I was in Patong and Chiang Mai, and was unsuccessful in looking for that dessert. I am already missing Thailand. It has been a month since I got bavk from Thailand. Great video ny the way. You are my favorite food vlogger :)
Awww, thanks Sou :). That pancake is called "khanom tang taek" (AKA Poorman's pancake). I have read that it is much less common than it used to be. Thankfully where we live (in Krabi) it is still easy to find, because it is one of my favourite Thai sweets. I hope you can get back to Thailand soon.
I just subscribed and enjoyed watching your video. I have a question. With all walking , eating and drinking. Are there restroom in the area to use too? Can you film or point it out in the video?
Thanks a lot and welcome! I've never had too much trouble finding restrooms in Thailand. All shopping malls, restaurants, gas stations and public places seem to have them. If you can't see it just ask the staff at a shop where it is ("hong nam" is the Thai word for bathroom). At this market, at the back of the market, there is a large, clearly marked toilet block with facilities for both men and women. Sometimes you may have to pay a small fee to use the facilities (generally in the order of 3-5 baht).
Awesome, I have been watching RU-vid videos and with all the open food market places in Thailand and it seems most video never mention where the bathroom is if one need to use it. Many thanks.
darrenb3 San Thanks. Right, I again checked n understood I saw B as R. Many Muslim costumes also made me misunderstand. I will enjoy your uploads. Thanks.
Thanks Kelly :). One of the first things I did when I came home that day was look it up and memorize it, up till that point I had never needed to use the word "head" in Thai. I should be OK next time ;)
I'm gonna be so out of my element when I come here. The only thai dish I've ever had was pad thai which I loved but some of this stuff looks too much for me. Great video btw.
There are different markets every afternoon/evening in Ao Nang which are great. I made a guide to them about a year ago, which you can see here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-r3REf9gsPqg.html , but there are also excellent daily afternoon markets in Krabi Town. Walking Street Weekend Market in Krabi Town is the biggest market in the Ao Nang/Krabi Town area. The only morning market in the area is the one featured in this video.
Thanks! I can't help much I'm afraid. In Thailand you need a degree to work as a teacher, but I believe that is not the case in some other countries. I'm sure Google can help more than me. Good luck.
dont think you need a degree, but youd need to get some TEFL qualifications. My English friend teaches in Thailand.. the pay is not great, long hours and resource problems. You need to be really committed, its no cushy holiday job
Unfortunately they were eaten a few days ago :). I posted some pics of them on our barbecue on my Facebook page on the 24th though facebook.com/thailandvideos/
Oh ok boss I got it.i just Thought that you teach over There so I assumed that u were fluent. What do you teach?Great vids keep it up sir cuz I sure LOVE living vicariously through you😁😁😁😁😁😁
