For Thai PR visa it is for 5 years. One can extend at police station rather than at immigration office. I used to extend my "Bai Tang Dao" at Thong Lo Sukhumvit police station.

a friend of mine just used a ltr visa to get pr. Maybe because he is married to a thai as well? Sill, questionable what you are saying

Cambo has a better deal cause you can get their passport and keep your own. Thailand makes it give up your home passport.
