Wow, watching this video was such a feast for the eyes! The way they prepared that giant Alaskan king crab in two different ways was both mesmerizing and mouthwatering. Thailand's seafood scene never fails to amaze with its creativity and flavors. I loved how they showcased the freshness and versatility of seafood in Bangkok. Definitely craving some Thai seafood now! 🦀🌶
what the video show us is not the appropriate approach for “King Crab Dishes”。Generally speaking, slicing the crab legs in advance to expose the crab meat and then rinsing them directly is a more suitable way to taste them fresh and tender. If you like black pepper or other flavors, you can rinse the crab meat and dip it in the sauce。I come from jiangsu,in my family ,we use the video‘s approach to cook blue crab, but do not use it for the king crab 。
Some countries or regions require restaurants to freeze live seafood such as lobster or king crab in advance, and some restaurants have been fined for missing this step. Perhaps it is out of humanitarianism, but from some perspectives it is well done in the video.
Thats what i was thinking. So many spices, just overpowering the taste of the crab which i came to eat. Just make some optional dips seperately and thats it. If i want i can have spicy bits, or not, but I do want to taste the ocean in the first place!
Yes. Crab meat is delicate and absorbs anything. The less seasoning the better it will taste. And if needed it can always be dipped in condiments to enhance the favours.
Well if the crab did not die with the ice plan b steam it 🤣 I'm not going lie, I would love to try this out. All them spices blend together and than slowly cooked into a sauce... oh yeah and next time cut open them crab legs before putting them in sauce
Wow, he cooked the shell and Served it with half the legs, then took the Same shell and cooked it Again in the second dish and Served it Again 😂 that chef would send me running for the hills! And around 60 cloves of garlic.. yup, nobody likes to taste what they are paying for...
I have tonsay again, it's AWSOME to see you traveling again and showing us all the delicious foods from other countries. My bucket list keeps growing to try these dishes from these places.
In Texas, we prefer just eatin' the crab with very little sides. We have blue crab and it's best to have crab boil and shrimp boil! However, I do appreciate other people's customs. :)
I’m sad to see the crab is alive when put in the hot steam… I thought the ice would make it “sedated” in some way, but it was clearly alive and moving… 🥺
Exactly. I've never understood why they don't just shove an ice pick or knife through the crabs head first, it costs nothing and takes only a second . Much more humane than boiling it alive.
I agree. Poor thing was taken out of its ice sedation to be displayed then put back into ice sedation, slowly bought back to room temperature, wide awake then slowly boiled to death! Like,I’m not vegetarian and i love eating crab, until now!
I like mine with melted butter and nothing else. People say I should be more adventurous, and I have to tell them, I am very adventurous. I have tried it many different ways. I like mine with melted butter and nothing else. Same with lobster. If you are paying for it, do it the way you like. If I am paying for it, I want it my way.
Iam born and raised Alaskan. I am completely baffled, struggling to find words to articulate how appalled I am at how...what..has been done to such a beautiful animal. It's way over cooked and there is no need for any sauce except butter, garlic and lemon. Mostly have it on table for looks. It tastes amazing without all of that. Just felt like such a punch to my gut to watch this. All of it is truly unnecessary. 🤦♀️😭
I have eaten King Crab all my life since was little is my all time favorite is at Capt Jacks in Sunset Beach Ca. they make it the absolute best and it is simply steamed with sweet garlic butter all the rest of this is a waste of time and effort IMO
Alaskan king Crab. All that's required is some? Butter, And/or lemon. Or both? That is it. Do? Not mask the wonderful flavor of an Alaskan king Crab. If it is fresh, there is no reason to disguise it. My God. It can not be made better than it all ready is.

I'd love to know what all those fried items are! Does anyone know? Love the beast of a crab ❤ I'm not sure I could share something so fresh and tasty 😋
The first two fried items are cripsy rice (ข้าวเกรียบ) there are many types of crispy rice such as shrimp cripsy rice (ข้าวเกรียบกุ้ง) fish crispy rice (ข้าวเกรียบปลา) and crab crispy rice (ข้าวเกรียบปู). I don’t know exactly what kinds of crispy rice in the video are, but they’re both crispy rice just in different shape. The trird one is chinese’s fried mantou (หมั่นโถวทอด) you can have it steamed or fried as you want.
The first batch that he blended is chili peppers, shallots, ginger, turmeric, garlic, and galangal... I wasn't watching the second batch because I was typing this 😅
