NEW THAILAND FOOD AND TRAVEL VIDEOS EVERY WEDNESDAY. Subscribe: / darrenb3 . Thai Street Food & Shopping at a Fair in Thailand. Trying the Food at a Fair in Krabi Thailand, Part 2.
This was a festival my family and I went to recently in Krabi Thailand. We went along to try some of the amazing street food and Thai desserts on offer there. The festival was for Loy Krathong and was typical of Thai fairs: loads of food, amusements & sideshows and shopping. I uploaded this video in 2 parts. This is Part 2 and you can see Part 1 here: • Eating Thai Street Foo...

Thai street food is everywhere in Thailand. It’s cheap and it is really delicious! All the food is cooked fresh as the vendors sell it, and as I mentioned, it is delicious! It’s some of my favourite Thai cuisine, and there is so much variety of street food in Thailand!
Thai Street Food is a must to try if you’re on holidays in Thailand and there’s loads of street food in throughout Thailand, both in Bangkok and in the areas! There are so many Thai dishes on offer and the foods are cheap, and so tasty! A lot of Thai street food has been influenced by Chinese food, so chances are you're already familiar with many of the flavours. And in case you’re worried, eating street food is perfectly safe. It’s what the locals eat and it is cooked fresh and sold quickly. I’ve been eating it for 3 years in Thailand and my friends who have been to visit and tour Thailand have all eaten it, and none of us have had any problems. Thai street food is some of the best Thai food you’ll find in Thailand!
The fairs in Thailand are a great place to get an insight into Thai culture while you travel in Thailand. They are open during the day and at night as night markets. You can shop alongside the locals and see what they buy and eat. Thai fairs and any festival in Thailand are great places to try traditional Thai street foods, learn Thai recipes and cooking, as well as eat some of the best Thai dishes in Thailand. You'll see the people cooking the food right in front of you. And best of all, the food is cheap, often much cheaper than eating in a Thai restaurant. Eating at fairs is a good way to eat cheap on your Thailand holidays.
And be sure you check out some Thai Food Markets on your trip to Thailand, and be sure to sample some of the amazing Thai street food that's available there too. The food in Thailand is amazing! If you want to try some of the most delicious food in the world be sure to visit Thailand!
Subscribe to my channel for more videos on what to do in Thailand and what to eat in Thailand. New Thailand videos posted every Wednesday about Thailand: places to see, things to do, tours, Thai food, Thailand markets, Thai festivals & culture, street food, Thai recipes, eating Thai food, hotels, resorts, villas, restaurants, Thailand holidays, tourism, accommodation & Thailand travel, including Phuket, Ao Nang, Krabi and other Thailand destinations.
Krabi is about 2-3 hours from Phuket by land or sea, and has world class accommodation standards comparable to what you find in Phuket hotels and resorts, but in a more relaxed environment.
If you're looking into Thailand Hotels have a look at hotels and resorts in Krabi. The islands and beaches of Krabi are famous for Thailand holidays, the movie The Beach was filmed on Krabi's Koh Phi Phi Island.

Hi Darren just like to wish your family happy new year,once again great video's,just one question how do you tackle eating the crab cakes is it shell and all ,many thanks nigel
@darrenb3
@darrenb3 8 лет назад
+Nigel Porter Thanks Nigel, glad you're enjoying the videos. The crab cakes are without shell, but there are whole fried small crabs available here and you can eat them shell and all as they are fried till they're very crunchy. It's also common to eat prawns shell and all here as they likewise are often fried whole till they're very crunchy. I hope that helps. Wishing you and your family all the best for 2016!

OK Darren, I love the format and wish my computer had taste sensors and smellavision.A few suggestions just to shake it up a little. How about, the random tourist bug tasting (humour), or, the local sausage factory and ingredients story (how/where it's made & comes from interest story), or, the local school lunchbox dissection (comparison with home story), or,the KFC v Street Market chicken taste test story (I just want to see that)the vendor or family banquet story (human interest)the yuckiest local foods story (I want to see that disgust/dismell facial expression instead of the usual, that was really yummy thumbs up) HAHAWhatever, ......... it's still a really good weekly viewing!
@darrenb3
@darrenb3 8 лет назад
+Pete MAY Hi Pete, Thanks, all good suggestions and I'll see what I can do with them in the future. As far as I know there are no sausage factories in the area I live though. Most of the vendors make their own sausages at home according to family recipes so I'm not sure how willing they'll be to invite me into their home and share their possibly secret recipe with me. I can try though. I did buy some Thai sausages from my local supermarket yesterday, to cook at home on my barbecue. The address given for the factory is in Khon Kaen, which is in the north east of Thailand 1,230 km from where I live. Children don't take lunch to school in Thailand, it is provided by the school. As a teacher I serve them their lunch most days & I will do a video some time soon(ish) to show you what they eat.I do generally try to avoid yukky foods, but there was something I ate 4 years ago (dried & barbecued squid) that I plan to try again when I can find someone cooking it and make a video, so you'll have to stay tuned for that one. Thanks for the suggestions, I'll see what I can do with them. All the best, Darren

Darren, again, what can I say about the quality of your filming/explanations? this!!--- i really feel when you include the family in the scenes it adds vibrancy to the video. we both laugh at how your wife sometimes struggles to eat herself, while tending to your son. it seemed my wife hadn't had a hot meal at all when ours were so young? we both laugh at ourselves about that, still today! of course a question, (just one, promise!) the "tea pulling",... is that for show, flavor enhancement, or both? look forward to 2016's vids, and learning about one of the most fascinating places on Earth. hope your family is healthy/productive/ and full of love for your new year! Chris
@darrenb3
@darrenb3 8 лет назад
+Michigan Mister Thanks a lot Chris. Yes, Aorn (my wife) is kind of relieved when Ananda (our son) falls asleep shortly before we eat. She says the food tastes better when he's asleep :). Tea pulling is apparently done to ensure the tea and condensed milk are mixed properly, thereby improving the flavor, while also cooling the tea. Wishing you and your family a very Happy New Year and all the very best for 2016! I hope the year ahead exceeds all of your hopes and dreams. I'm off to explore a local waterfall I haven't been to yet and then to visit another fair that opened yesterday, before seeing in the New Year at a big party on the beach :)

I love your videos about the food and as a 'farang' I want to eat all the street food(I been to Ao Nang many times). In your videos you never talk about the temperature(I might missed it) of the different foods, no offence here, I mean many people, me included probably wonder ... which food is cold, warm, hot, ... eating these sausage looks so good but ... question is: which foods do you recommend to be 'heated' again and which is fine as is ... I hope it is a fare question ... keep your vlogs coming!!! Thanks!
@darrenb3
@darrenb3 8 лет назад
+Mats Kapanen Yes, fair question. In Australia I was repulsed by eating cold sausages, but I've never found sausages to be cold here in Thailand. The ambient temperature is pretty much always over 30C here anyway & these foods generally sell almost as quickly as they're cooked. As per the video, the vendors reheat foods that need to be reheated (I was going to eat the chicken's feet cold, but the lady reheated them). I've never asked for anyone to reheat my food here, but many times vendors have reheated my food for me. They seem to know what needs to be reheated and will do so if the food needs it. All part of the service I guess :)

In Thailand Thai Muslim food is a little more expensive then your normal Thai.Id like to know why perhaps cause it’s mainly a Buddhist country and not as many people want halal Muslim food that’s my guess but been there over 15x but never bothered to ask.
@darrenb3
@darrenb3 4 года назад
Hi, I've lived in Thailand for a little over 8 years now and I've never noticed a difference in price, as shown in this video. My guess would be that you're going to the wrong places. As an example, here's a Muslim restaurant where it's an all you can eat halal food buffet for 59 baht. It's the cheapest buffet in the area where I live (Krabi, Thailand) and it's very good food there: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rFG2hWm3fd8.html I have lots more halal food videos in my playlist here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wwFty8H4OPQ.html All the best.

So you’ve lived there for 8 years in Phuket Krabi know it very well so I’ve been over 15x so I’ve seen a lot more then yourself cause the first time was 2004 So I’ve seen a lot of change in Thailand it is no longer the land of smiles that’s gone unless you go rite out to the much smaller towns but Krabi has turned very touristic which is a shame.Dont get me wrong I still love Thailand however Vietnam Burma and Especially Cambodia is very very nice it’s still. Got its red light places just not everywhere like Thailand.
