@@inzakaew She's fantastic. We always pay 10 baht yeah when we get the train and see her. Just wanted to give her something for how hard she works at her age 🙏
They are amazing people all must have some stories to tell, one day we shall return fluent in Thai and ask them things! The ice cream grandma melts our heart everytime
A nice upload … thank you You showed Lopburi :-) I was hoping you showed Banh Mi … my home stop and where my family are :-) The very discreet tip to coconut ice cream lady was nice :-) well done guys
Ban mi train station is lovely! I think I've actually showed it in a older train video we made! Beautiful these little towns. Yeah we wanted to give her something after seeing her all the time working so hard at her age! Don't really like doing those silly 'thai vendor gets a reward' videos would rather just be normal aha 🙏
Ellis , Alicia vdoนี้ ประทับใจผมที่สุด พวกคุณน้ำใจงามมาก🙏 merchants on train , we (you both and me) know well they're poor, too old to work, some inability but they're still try to struggle their life carry heavy bucket , tray ,bags walking around the train and you both try to support them me also choose someone that should support as well. very impressive your nice mind. Thank you very much from my heart.
Thank you so much for traveling in my home country and support local businesses 💕 Love you both, you’re very lovely and kind. โชคดีนะครับ เที่ยวให้สนุกนะ 😊
You two are the kindest RU-vidrs of Thailand I came across. You guys are generous and appreciative of Thai culture. I was born in Thailand, now living in the U.S. I want to rediscover our heritage with my brother. We want to take the train around Thailand. Your Thailand train videos made me reconsidered something. we can easily afford first class train, but why? We want to meet Thai people and there’s no better way than to rub elbows with the locals. Thank you for giving me a travelers perspective.
It’s allways good to support local thai people ,, we allways do a temple day for the local folk , buy and cook 20+ kilos of pork and sticky rice and I usually get a tank of coconut ice cream to dish out , they love it
Now I know why traveling on 3rd class train are not as cheap as what you think..555 I am really appreciated and thank for supporting the local vendors..
The candy floss is like the thickest cotton candy ever, then in a burrito. I call them cotton candy burritos. You are so right, the texture is like hair. Great video, you made the train ride fun.
I haven't watched your vlog in a while.I didn't think you'd be traveling in Thailand for this long. very happy and lovely couple. 😊 without a hat, you're look handsome.😊
I am planning to take the train back to Bangkok from Chiang Mai this weekend. 3rd class travel was the only way I was going to be coming back and you have mede me sure that I made the right choice. Thanks for sharing. I look forward to all of the lovely vendors on the way back.
Honestly it's fantastic, if the train isn't busy you have loads of room on those benches, can put your feet up across and just chill out with the nice views. Gets a little hot but it's alright we all survive aha. Enjoy your trip back, and if you happen to pass the ban phachi junction make sure to buy some of grandma's coconut ice cream if she is there!!
I did a 3rd class from Nakorn Sawan to Bangkok many times. I enjoyed them. But Chiang Mai to BKK is too long in my opinion. You might get uncomfortable after 4-5 hours. I'm Thai and took a 3rd class once from Suratthani to Bangkok. It was brutal for me but it was jam-packed and that might be the reason.
@@cxxx9756 We don't mind it we've done 30 hours from the north to the south and even managed to sleep on the benches. Find them quite comfy just a bit hot in daytime! Busy train wouldn't be fun though!!
@@EllisWR I will be keeping my eyes open for the coconut ice cream for sure. I am used to travelling rough, so I am certain that the train ride will be comfortable enough for me. Besides if the benches hurt after a while, i can always get up and stretch my legs a bit. Anything is better than being stuck on a plane for 30 hours. That's one of the main reason's I do not want to go back to Canada. The flights here wore me out.
Love these trains aha always a quality time. The Yala one was a right slog though, luckily train was quiet so we chilled out to the max. Cheers for tuning in!
I travelled from Udon Thani down to Bangkok on local trains like these over summer last year. Hopped on and off in a few different towns on the way. Great memories.
Wow, I really admire that you can communicate so fluently in Thai ;b How have you managed to learn the language so well ? I speak few languages but cannot get my head around to learn any new ones 😅
You are a gutsy pair.😂I’m exactly the same in Thailand, I have to eat everything I see. Great video guys. And a thumbs up to coconut ice cream Grandma❤
I like both of you, especially Leeds,(she said if you don't buy this I'm going to throw you out the window hahaha 🤪 you made my day..and I'm going to cook you and put in my noodles Holly molly,I'm not being funny, you are looking so serious face ,well done ,what a lovely couple couple, have a safe trip,I can't wait to watching more..love you guys. 😊
On ordinary 3rd class Thai Ginger trains, you get to enjoy a continuous supply of food. It is one of the charms of riding a Thai train. As for the coconut ice cream from Phachi Station, it's a famous ginger specialty because it's really delicious. I hope you both enjoy your travels in Thailand. Welcome.
Ah Roti Saimai my favorite dessert every time when i drive back home to Suphanburi i need to buy them when I come across Ayutthaya, and you are absolutely right we central Thais love eating sweet hahaha its in our DNA I guess its because we have alot of sugar cane plantation and palm suger since the old days while other part of Thailand doesn’t know what sugars are ( a few hundred years ago) so it’s pretty much almost everydish has to be some sugar 😂
Yeah we know it was 5-10 baht too expensive but today we just wanted to help the vendors so made an exception. Grandma is amazing she works so hard honestly. The wooden stations are so nice we really like the retro feel! The new development makes us feel a little sad aha right now Thailands railway is so charming especially down south
Riding the train like this is very tiring. I remember when I was a kid The family traveled to visit their grandfather in Phichit. Take the bus from Bangkok at 5:00 a.m. It took several hours to arrive. But my mother would make baskets and put food in them, not buy them to eat, save money and be clean. It's like going on a picnic. Growing up, I didn't sit down anymore. When the situation at home improved, Dad bought a car and drove it to see Grandpa.
Ahah was ment to be a strong Scottish, followed by an Australian. I do a scouse accent a lot too which is Liverpool ahah. That's funny that you can't understand!
@@EllisWR yeah I felt like i needed a translator😂I’ve heard of scouser because of Paddy Pimblett in the UFC. Great video though, public transport like the boats in BKK, bus, and trains are so damn cheap and convenient but most travelers never utilize them.
Wow, I'm impressed. The ticket is super cheap, and even though the train looks a bit run down, the most important thing is that it's incredibly spacious. I traveled with RegioJet here in Europe in the standard class, and there's no way I could get that much room. Trains here are packed like economy flights, but at a much higher price😶 You'd have to pay for business class to have as much legroom as in this Thai train, still the downside, which money can't buy, is that you can't talk much since people here expect dead silence
Ahah yeah the train is an old thing but it has charm and when not busy it's actually really comfortable, more comfortable than the expensive classes with the tight seats. We love this way of getting around though because you can chat to everyone and hang out the window admiring the beautiful views. In England the train is miserable
@@EllisWR Yeah, they still keep that classic Thai design, so when you look at them, you can totally sense you're in Thailand, on a Thai train. Same goes for trains in Vietnam, they carry that old vibe. Not everything has to go modern. And I love how Leesh casually puts her foot on the chair, like a true local. In Europe, they'd shoot you a dead stare if you did that, haha. I mean, I respect Western culture, but sometimes, it just takes the joy out of life
You got it right. middle part of the country use more sugar than other regions. Before when I was at university in Bangkok. I am very suffering about this.😂😂
Fanta soda drinks, I'd like to replace Auntie's as well. In fact, in Thailand, they sell for only 15 baht. Selling for 30 baht per bottle, very expensive. I, a Thai person, am still shocked at the price of soda drinks. I would like to replace Auntie's, from Nakhon Sawan people. I watch all your youtube clips because I really like them.❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉😊😊
It's weird, some routes are super affordable like this one 48 baht for 5 hours. But then some other routes can be like 4 5x the price I don't get how it works. We love the ordinary trains though, like to just chill out and watch the countrysides go by
The train fare has not been increased for ages as to support Thai people, the Thai railway has nor made any money since opening, It is benefit to tourists whose cost of living are higher than Thailand.
@@jiranyavarodvivat2434 Tourists all travel in high classes anyway and complain if they are in low class. We're happy about the low cost, it gives us more money to spend with the local vendors
When I was a child I took the 3rd class train from bangkok to Chiang Mai , I enjoy thinking about what will be sold on the train at the next station. Some are delicious, some are not, some have never been eaten. But they are all good memories for me. and..Thank you both for your love. 23:56 "Oh Ho!" ❤55555
A bottle doesn't need a straw aha we don't ever take them. It's ok we know it's overpriced but our goal was to spend the journey buying from sellers. All good
@@สาวญ้อบ้านนา2 Yeah it's unfortunate but the reality is some people do things like this :( In future will just say no then, but if I did that people would comment more silly things on my video so you can't win!
