Thai Thingyan Water Splashing When we say Thingyan, our country's traditional Myanmar Thingyan, in addition to water splashing, there is a floating cake and swaying dance. I just wanted to say that it was obvious until I saw the palm tree attached

And Thailand copied India, its originally an Indian festival, called the Holi festival
@wannasith
@wannasith Год назад
@@body187j3x1 This festival derived from India and all of Thai people’ve known and respectfully acknowledged this truth. The name “ Songkran” is Sanskrit which originated from India as well. We changed and evolved from using color powder to water bcoz during this period of time it’s boiling hot in Thailand.

Why is Songkran called the Thai new year, but the chinese new year had to be renamed to Lunar New Year? As Songkran also follows the lunar calendar. Then Songkran should actually also be called a Lunar New Year. Why people only renaming the chinese new year, but not the Thai new year? That's hypocrite.

Songkran is the tradition of Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Burma, the Tai minority in Vietnam and China's Yunnan Province including Sri Lanka and countries in the east of India It is assumed that the tradition Songkran is culturally derived from the Holi festival in India. But Holi uses a splash of color instead. by providing Up every 1st day of the 4th month, which is March. Songkran is a value in Sanskrit language that means movement, which is a metaphor for movement. stamped in the zodiac or moving into the new year according to belief of Thailand and some countries in East Asia. Southern Thailand Songkran tradition has been passed down since ancient times along with the New Year. Therefore, it is often referred to as the New Year tradition. Songkran means The end of the year and welcome the new year. science, but at present there is a definite date from 13-15 April, originally the Thai New Year was The beginning of the Thai calendar year until 1888 and has been changed Changed to April 1, a new year's day. until 1940 Songkran Day History In the past, the Songkran ceremony was a ritual that occur within the family or neighboring communities, but in Currently, there has been a change change the Songkran ceremony to be the Songkran Festival which has expanded into a broader edge more and tend to change their attitudes and beliefs, originally in the Songkran ceremony, water was used as a symbol Tee is the main element of the ceremony. reconcile with the meaning of summer, the moment when the sun sets entering Aries On this day, water is poured on each other to keep them hydrated. Elders are asked for blessings. There is deep remembrance and gratitude to the ancestors Later, in modern Thai society, it is a tradition to return home during the Songkran Festival. Since Songkran is a family day, there are also traditions inherited from the original, such as the bathing of the Buddha image, which brings prosperity To start the new year happily. At present, there is a tourism promotion that is Water Festival or Water Festival by cutting information. In the part that is the original belief.

Thai new year calculation used to based lunar calendar but not anymore since adopting western solar calendar. Now it has a fixed date 13-15 April since 1940. Chinese new year is still based on lunar calendar so it's quite different. Apple is Apple, orange is orange.
@body187j3x1
@body187j3x1 Год назад
@@singularity-6339 That doesn't justify to call Chinese New Year into Lunar New Year. Why Songkran not called Solar New Year then? Don't make excuses. I have no problem to call Songkran Thai New Year, but the world has to be fair and call it Chinese New Year aswell.

@@body187j3x1 Everybody on earth knows what's Chinese New Year means. Who told you that they called Chinese New Year a lunar New Year? I been called Chinese New Year a Chinese New Year ever since I remembered. What I did try to say is the difference between Thai and Chinese New Year.

@@singularity-6339 If everybody know what chinese new year means, then I wouldn't be making this comment now would I? Go check western foreign newpapers how they call chinese new year in 2023. It's Lunar New Year. Don't be ignorant. I know very well what the difference is between Chinese New Year and Thai New Year. That was not the point. The point is why chinese new year is called lunar new year.
